We have a browser in a panel that gets resized programatically. Unfortunately when the panel is larger or smaller than the nominal size of the web page visited by the browser, we either get a clipped image, or a lot of blank area. We would like to force the browser page to stretch to fill the available space when we dock the browser in the panel.
View 1 RepliesWe have an application that has a main form with a map on it. Right now the paradigm is to have forms that are displayed using menu items to display information to the user. Most of these forms are modal forms, but a couple are non-modal forms that interact with the map. For some of the forms, it really would make for a better user experience if we could dock them in the main form of the app and allow the user to see both the form and the map. For instance. We could have a list of map features in a docked window, and select one of the items on the list and have the map zoom to that feature. Or do the reverse: let the users select a map item and have a docked window that shows details of the feature. Sounds great, but I wonder about what sort of gotchas we may encounter. In particular, what if we have two windows docked at the same time? Could we get tangled up in our event code?

View 1 RepliesIm have a form and an image. Imagine the form's backcolor to be black and the image to be a landscape. When you resize the form the image is also resized and streched towars all directions. The point is that as you resize the form the image delays to be resized so the background which is black is showed.

View 3 Repliesi'm creating 64 button dynamically during run time. and from database i'm getting the description, font color, back color and picture path. and if the picture path is not nothing, then i need to display that picture in that button. if picture path is nothing, then need to display the description as button text using font color and back color.
this button values are not loaded only once. using button click Addhandler, each button values keeps on changing each time.

while i run the program, the image is diplaying in correct button if picture path exist and button that didn't have the picture path is displaying the text.
but the image is not fitting inside the Button. i can see only half of the image. i need a way to make the Image stretched or reduced to fit inside button.
I am making an operating system based game in visual basic. The real problem is that the game runs full screen and when it comes to desktop backgrounds I am having heaps of problems.First I had the desktop as just the forms background image but I needed to add icons to the desktop so I anchered a listveiw onto the background and the problem is that the listview is not transparent and you can't see the desktop background.
I thought that I could fix that problem by setting the background image on the listveiw as the background image but the problem is when i set a background image on the listveiw there is no option to stetch the image. The only option is to tile the background image.
How can I get the listveiw either transparent or set it a stretched background. ( the user gets to choose a desktop background so they all need to be able to stretch to the full desktop of the user's screen resolution.)
I'm working with the webbrowser control because I've had so many problems with using a non wrapped browser.
What I'm doing is filling out web forms, pressing submit, filling more information, etc etc. The problem is that when I press the submit but inside the code, the webbrowser doesn't actually reload the page so the second step of form filling can never happen.
From what I've read I think this is because it's simply loading from cache. Is there someway to stop this from happening such that when the submit button is pushed, and the server sends the new page, the webbrowser reloads it automatically?
i'm lost on this code.. i have a picturebox that swaps 2 images, depending on the action, file_red and file_green.. what i'm trying to to is, if a picturebox switches a image or not, to be able to detect that and have textbox8 add a line with the detection.

I use panel.controls.add to add controls to the panel. But... they insert at the very top of it.
I tried the BringToFront and SendToBack methods, but does'nt seem to be working.
what i want, is that they dock at the top of the container, but if there is another docked control there, the new one is displayed below that one...
I need to see if a webpage displayed via the vb browser contains certain words .I've tried parasing through the html but that contains too much junk html and css tags which caused problems.That was done by using property webBrowser.document.Body.InnerText.contains . Are any way to search through the actual text via the program like the control-f function on common webbrowser ?

I initially want this to be copied to the output directory so that it will be there when the programme is installed and i can then use the file path of the output directory to display the help file.
Can anyone advise how i would do this, and also if when the user installs the program, they decide to change the default output directory how i would i get my application to know where the helpfile will be?

This is the first time i am using ToolSTrip in VB.NET. I have set some navigation buttons like First, Prev, Next and Last. i have set Image property in buttons. but at runtime these buttons are not visible, i can not see any button, even if i set Display Style property to ImageandText, the Image is not displayed but text is visible.

When I click the browser back button to go back to the page it says the page has expired. the other pages on my web site work and call the page load, the only solution i found but cant use is to wrp the whole page in an update panel, but i cant do this becuase i have a report viewer on the page that does not work with ajax.

when I test the program on my friend's pc it gives an error and does not display the image. ( and yes I already tried putting the executable in exactly the same folder as it is on my pc WITH the image folder.. )

Theproblemis that when the user clicks to add a new record the combobox is cleared and they forget to select a value before they click save.

View 4 RepliesI need help with a vb app. Currently it takes a character separated list as input and outputs an sql insert. In the list are urls among other data. What the app currently does is download the source of the first url then load the first jpeg for viewing. At this point I accept, deny, or cancel. If I accept or cancel we move to the next url. If I deny we move to the next jpeg in that source and I'm given the dialog again.
I'm not real familar with VB; I just know that its relatively easy to hack out a solution.. an ugly one in my case. I'm now realizing the way I've done this is too time consuming. What I want is to load the url in a vb browser and then be able to click an image and get its source and move on to the next url. It would also be nice if the images were outlined like with the web developer plugin for firefox. I assume I could just add some css to the soure of each url. Alternatively, I could throw out the vb browser and load each image in some kind of list control.
im making a program for a friend at the min where long story short in part of the program the user will press a button while they are viewing a web page in the standard web browser control, when the button is pressed i am trying to get the location of a image off the page into a string.
i was originally trying to go through the web page code one character at a time searching for "<img" tags but had no success. i have just seen the WebBrowser.Document.GetElementsByTagName
I have this url as an example: [URL] As one can see, it returns a nice picture--just what I need. Now, I need to put that "picture" inside a picture box or perhaps save it to a file. I would prefer the first as I believe it would be faster. Note the picture comes to us in a .gif format. I use vb 2005.
