Forms :: Customizing Queries Based On Radio Button Selections?

I am a new to programming, trying to learn vb.net, so I apologize if my questions are very elementary or my terminology is incorrect. I am trying to format a query to an Oracle table based on user-selected radio buttons on a Windows form (i.e. the query will return different elements from the table based on the radio buttons selected). The query results will be placed in a listbox on the form. My thought was to make a Property containing my query like so:

and then I have a sub that feeds this SQL property (containing the query) into an OracleConnection.My problem is that I don't know how to customize that query depending on what radio buttons are selected by the user. Is a Property the best way to go about this, or is there some other way that may be better?

I'm creating a VB.NET application that includes two radio buttons inside of a groupbox. If the first radio button is selected, a certain tab on a tab form should be enabled. If the second radio button is selected, that tab should be disabled.
Is there a groupbox method that monitors both radio buttons and fires when the selection changes? Or do I need to set up individual methods for each radio button?

I have a project in which I have to display a picture box based on:
Which radio box is checked
and
if a checkbox to make the picture box visible is checked. As someone who values clean, good code this is my code and it horrifies me. My question, is there some way to condense the following using cases or some other construct I don't know in VB.net?
If CheckBox1.Checked = False Then
BooksPictureBox.Visible = False
MusicPictureBox.Visible = False

Note- all the images stack on one another, and all of them start without being visible.

I have a Form which has several questions - each question is answered (bythe user) by choosing between 2 options - each option represented by a Radio Button. I have six questions and hence 12 radio buttons on my page but all of them seem to belong to the same group - i.e., the user can select only one of the 12 buttons whereas I want the user to be able to select one from every pair of radio buttons.

My form has four panels, each contains radio buttons. At design time, all buttons have checked = false, which is what I want when form loads.When the form loads a radio button in one panel has checked = true
For the other three panels, all radio buttons have checked = false.I have tested this with no code in the Form_load subrroutine.How is checked = true being set for that that one radio button ?
Does The IDE somehow force at least one radio button on the form to have checked = true?
Can I force checked = false for all radio buttons when the form loads? If so, how?

How do you input binded Radio button if checked values "String" to the data base using query Like if check radio button Male the gender in the database will be "Male" And female if otherwise the ,database column is string in my db and my dataset is radio button the inputted record should have male or female in gender column. I'm confused also with date time picker in vb and it is date/time format in database column.

i have problem that i know once someone answers, i will kick myself, but here goes. i need to move the text next to the radio button to the left of the radio button, that part is easy just make sure the the "right to left" is maked yes, got it. but, the problem is i am making a seating chart and the seats are labeled 10-a, 10-b etc.... when the right to left is set to yes my text reverses and becomes a-10 and i can't seem to figure out what is set in the properties the is causing the alpha to be placed before the numeric.

trying to write a simple form for calculating professor's salaries depending on their degree and position.my problem is that the when i select a check box, the value is not being updated until i select a different radio button. it probably doesn't make much sense here,

deal with ever changing SQL queries based on various conditions? i am using Cmd.BindByName = True so it doesn't need to be in an ordered way when adding parameters. Just that this is the hectic way of doing the update SQL ..or even worse insert SQL/I favor doing parameters instead of using stored procedure bcoz i find it faster by using parameters .

I've got a panel - that's in a group box. All of this - with lots of other textboxes on labels - is in another panel (the big panel).I make the big panel visible and not visible based on selections made by the user.This small panel - that's in the group box. I cannot seem to make it appear.Even if I leave it VISIBLE at design time - the objects in it will not appear.Is there some kind of nesting problem that I'm not aware of!

We have a GUI that displays a radio selection box (3 options) that are the three sites where our hospitals are. We need to dropdown located on the form to fill with only the locations based on the selected radio option.
Here is the code behind we have so far (sorry, VB)

For the record the Location dropdown is currently databound but its a static SELECT statement which brings us all the locations but we'd prefer it to be cleaner if it only returned the locations based on Site. We are using Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition for development.

In my project I would like to call an exe so that exe pop up will come with a Login Screen with 2 buttons Login and Cancel.In those 2 buttons, login button is focussed default. Now my application should invoke the Login button automatically. Means there won't be Pressing ENTER KEY or Mouse Button Etc. Just after the Login Screen, there is a 2nd Screen that has 5 different Radio buttons, the 1st Radio button is always the default. So I also want to click this radio button automatically without using the keyboard or the mouse. y intention is that, the application should do that automatically.
I have tried with getting the handle of the focused Button by GetFocus method and tried to send that handle to the application by SendMessage and PostMessage. But it's not working.So can any body give some suggestion regarding this?

User will use a button1.click to open a filedialog to locate the file they needed. after which, the name of the file will appear on a textbox. Button2 is an OK button to write the filename into a txt file. Button2.click will work with the 3 radio buttons - meaning when Radio Button 1 is true and Button2.click is clicked, the filename will be saved asFile1.txt.if Radio Button 2 is true and Button2.click is clicked, the filename will be saved as File2.txt. I am working on a Data Survey Project and first I have a few questions about the different types of databases, and second, I need help querying my tables that have relationships.
1. I need a database that is stand alone. It is just the back end for the program. Simply to hold all the data an employee gets while out on a job. So would I be better using access, or SQL Express? I have played with both, but I do not want a large redistribution to my user machines. When I compile and produce this app does the SQL Database still work without installing any SQL Technology? Or do they have to go in after they install my app, and install Express?
2.Overview: I suppose depending on the first question regarding the database, it might change this question a bit, but none the less...I have 4 tables( using Access at the moment) I will be generating Reports based on data in the database. I haven't gotten that far yet. *Project* is the table that holds all the details that pertain to the job and client. It has a "one-to-many" relationship to *Survey*. So for one customer there are going to be many Survey Records. *Project Type* also has a 1-to-many back to *Projects*. Parts is kind of an orphan, but is linked to the *Survey* table with a one to many. So there can be many parts for one survey. I wanted this table for a drop down box, so the user could just simply select what hardware he was using instead of typing all the names and parts.
So in VS 2008 using the Designers and related Query tools, how do I constrain the Survey Data to one Customer? I have one form that opens from a button that is "New Project" and then there are all the *project* fields listed, so the user fills out the info and hits accept and that opens a new form called "frmSurvey" I need to add some code to the accept button to check what type of project is selected from the frmNewProject and then run a select query based on that. How do I write query statements in the code section of the form, without using the Visual Database tools?
Ill stop here, and get these questions out of the way first. If I could just get a handle on how to use the data properly with different forms and different controls with my queries, that would be great.
