I have one form that needs to act as a template for 4 forms, each with its own set of variables.Do I need to set them up like:

Or create an array?

View 2 RepliesHaving problems with a datatable which consists of multiple datalogger information. Within the datetime field there are as the name suggests listed date and times entry i.e. 12/01/11 22:56:56 ect ect.
Problem is i am graphing this and when ms chart reads the duplicate entries as a series. It doesnt like it and comes up with a slightly odd interpretation. I need to get the duplicate entries out to establish a single time series.
I was proposing to clone the original datatable and run a loop to remove the duplicates. I have been trying to do this for days and have played with a whole load of examples, without success. Can anyone point me in the right direction on this.
I have just started using vb.net and I have a checked list box with times throughout the day shown as

What I am trying to find is a way to get the current time and find which list item it fits into. What I think I need to do is to first of all get the current time and then go through the list splitting each item into 2 times and seeing if the current time fits. For example: Split the item 00:00 - 00:14 to 00:00 and 00:14 and then check if the current time is more than 00:00:00 but less than 00:14:59 and if so do certain task.how to go about taking each list item and splitting it into 2 separate times so I can check between them?
i have a problem with trying to get 2 forms to close at different times using a timer on each of the 2 forms.

Frm1 and Frm2 are identical to each other. FrmMain has 2 buttons on it. One button to call Frm1 and the other to call Frm2.Frm1 and Frm2 each has a timer. It counts down to 0 and then does a .close(). However, if i pause between clicking the second button they both seem to always disappears at the same time.I would do something like this...
Click on the first button (showing the Frm1 form)
wait about 10 secs...Click on the second button (showing the Frm2 form)they both are shown on screen...hen they both disappear at the same time.... which shouldn't happen since i clicked the Frm2 box 10 seconds AFTER Frm1... So Frm1 should hide before Frm2 does...but it does not.

for example, the app is ment to create a line in a text document, so they write in textbox1 what they want written on the line, and then in textbox2, tey say how many lines they want to create.

It will create 782 lines of BLAA. not just one...

Example: Two buttons, the first puts "1" into the RTB, and the second puts "2" into the RTB. However when I press the second button, it over writes the first value.

I'm developing a windows application. I have a form in which there is a list box and a treeview control. My purpose is to fill treeview according to list item clicks. This is done using a pair of subroutines called ReloadPermissions and FillMenuItem:

There are only two subroutines in which nodes are added to treeview control, and they are subroutines above. The problem is that whenever list item is clicked, node count displayed in treeview is increased!!! I checked number of nodes before and after call to tvPermissions.Nodes.Clear() using MsgBox. Results show that number of nodes isn't increased (1 before call, 0 after call, again 1 after ReloadPermissions() is called), but what is displayed doesn't show such a behavior! Refreshing window by putting it under other windows or call to tvPermissions.Refresh() has no effect.
Imagine that I have a System.Windows.Forms.Timer with 1000 ms interval. If I call Timer.Start() method and after 500 ms I call again Timer.Start() what happens? The second Start call will reset the interval or not? Are there any side effects?

Is there a way to programatically place a copy on the second form. I would adjust the height and position of the 1-row version, and create a new binding source on the second form so that I could filter the data.

I'm building a code editor app in VB.NET (Framework 4.0) and it opens all ".por" files into individual forms consisting of a MenuBar and TextBox (multi-line).Currently I have 20 forms (all duplicates of the first on I designed) and if there are say 4 ".por" files in a directory, the first four will open up while the others hide.
I think it would be far more efficient by coding a new form For each item in form1's ListView...but I want the next so many to be a copy of the first form I designed since I spent a good bit on it.
I want to create an application which can reset itself quickly and easily (without a function to do so). I thought one way to do this is to duplicate the form in it's original form (variables, etc) from the point it first loaded.This is how I thought it could be done:
1. Click button to restart application.
2. Form in use is duplicated by creating a new form with Dim newForm as new Form.
3. New form contains all properties of the original form at the time it was first created.
4. Original form is removed, and new form is used; thereby 'restarting' the application.
I can't find any simple way to do this without making a function which completely resets every variable and object (there's a fair number of them).
This problem should be a no-brainer for anyone that programs daily. I haven't worked in VB.NET in many many months, and all of my reference books are at home. I have to modify a program that I wrote a few years back. I need to add a new form to the project that is very similar to a form already in the project. I figured I would start with the existing form and modify it. I still need the existing form in the project, so I made a copy, renamed it to the new name, then copied it back to the folder in which my project resides. Now, I need to be able to add it to the project, but I'm having trouble figuring out how. So far, I have been able to add just the code without the form. If I try to add the form, it wants to create a new form. .

Main Form - Form 1 - Form 2 - Form 3 I want to monitor how many times someone gets to Form 2. How many times Form 2 is opened but then closed without proceeding to Form 3. I do have an "exit" button on form 2, that will go back to Form 1.

File > Export Template > Item Template > Select Form To Copy
Then
Solution Explorer > Right Click on project title > Add Item > Select Exported Template > Rename file > Add Item

The user should be able enter a value into the text box, and select multiple items from both CheckedListBoxes, when they click the submit button the details will be added to a DataGridView below.

The First Checked Lsit Box is called "Colour" and from the options the user checks 'Red' and 'Blue'.
