GDI On Pre-printed Form With Preview?
May 6, 2010
With VB or C#, I need to print some pre-printed form (invoice, payroll ..) with a preview on the screen. I do that with GDI+ and PrintPreviewDialog.I have the pre-printed form as a jpg file. First I draw this jpg file then I draw all text to fill the form.
Dim myBackground
As New Bitmap("D:Ressourcesinvoice_12.jpg")
e.Graphics.DrawImage(myBackground, 1, 1)

I have to write an application that consists of mainly one main form, but several different things I wanna display. Pretty standard I guess. So there is a menu, some controls, and the main stuff below (ranging form graphs, tables, dropdown boxes, print preview, etc). I would like to use it like one would use frames in html, design an object that is limited to a box or panel that I define. The literature I have does not give me a clear idea of how to do this (yet). The most obvious seem to be the use of MDI, open a predefined form with no borders, maximize it before showing and remove all minimize/maximize options. But that does not work so well. The form inside the MDI parent does not fit the size that is given for it when it is loaded. e.g.
[CODE]:......................
So my main question is: Is MDI the way to go here at all or are there better/easyer ways to achieve this? If MDI is the way to go, how do I sucessfully restrict a child form inside another object, without giving the user any opportunity to resize (i noticed that I have minnimize/maximize/close buttons, even if I disable them on the child forms themselves)

I am trying to get vb.net 2008 to display a Word document within a form. (I have an emailer where the user selects a Word document to mail-merge from a list and I need to be able to display the document so they can be sure it is the right one). At the moment I am trying to use the web browser control but this is giving me the following problems....
1. How to prevent the file download (open/save/cancel) dialog from displaying.
2. In Office 2007 it is opening the document in a separate instance of MS Word.

I am developing a next gen App for my Email Client for future Windows 8 users. Now when i used to use Visual Studio (Visual Basic) 2008 to develop for Windows 7, I used the command "FORMNAME.show()" And that command would open the form. The Problem i am having now is that "SHOW" is not included and im guessing that there has to be another way to do this. For the Beta version of my app, i created a test Button that i want to open a "SplitPage1" the button is called " btnOpen"?Now to give you an idea what i wanna do, i made buttons on the top right hand corner that are called "File , Edit , View" and so on, and when the user clicks file, i want a spiltpage to open with all the options the user would regularly have when clicking file on a menu tab in a program. the options would be lined up on the left hand side when you hover over lets say "New Email" on the right hand side there will be a short description that will appear saying "create a new email to send" and when clicked on it will take the user back to the mainPage and it redirect the browser to "SendnewEmail url".

I would like to prepare a preview window to zoom inside a picturebox. In my form, I have a picturebox (name picSource1) and inside the same picturebox, I have some other pictureboxes (like picsmallSource1). All of them make a detailed whole photo. My aim is to make a new form with a new picturebox (name it picDestination) so that when mouse comes over the source picSource1 (and of course the other small pictureboxes inside this), Form2 becomes visible and picDestination shows the zoomed part where the mouse cursor shows. So while the mouse moves over the image, the new picturebox shows in real time the zoomed version.
Public Class ImageEventArgs
Inherits EventArgs
Private _image As Image
This code works very fine but I should revise it to somehow "overlay" the picturebox1 with other small pictureboxes, isn't it?

So far no matter what I clicked in printpreview, the showdialog returns cancel? How can I tell if the user did print? I'd like to clear the print queue of items if they did actually print to a printer or ask them if I should clear it, but only if they actually did print something.

Do I then add the data?Basically, I want to be able to add a table of data and the other sections of data to a report and print it?

I wrote a program to print deposit tickets using pre-printed deposit forms. The forms are the ones used by Peachtree Accounting.I have used this program with three different printers. All three printers are HP.Now I am using the program but the printer is a Lexmark and the print no longer lines up with the form. The print is now about 3/16" below the place where it was printing.I can change the program to reduce the starting place of the print but if another printer is used the print will be off again. If the HP printer is used then the print will be too high. How can I take this in account for each printer that may be used? In our VB.Net application, we print a no. of documents (pre-printed forms); Since the formats of these forms vary client to client, we want to provide an option for client to adjust the alignment while printing. Is there an option which will enable the user to move a data element (that is printed) up / down / right / left so that the alignment comes out correctly without calling for the help of programmer?

I am trying to print an image (from file) to a the printer using a PrintDocument.I am re-sizing my image so that it is scaled to be full page on the printout when I print this the image is cropped slightly.
EDIT 2:I am using the margins to calculate the area to use:
With printSettings.DefaultPageSettings
Dim areaWidth As Single = .Bounds.Width - .Margins.Left - .Margins.Right
Dim areaHeight As Single = .Bounds.Height - .Margins.Top - .Margins.Bottom
End With
The bounds of the page are 1169x827 (A4) and with the margins it is 1137x795.After resize my image size is 1092x682 and I am using the following code to draw it:
e.Graphics.DrawImage(printBitmap, .Margins.Left, .Margins.Top)
The annoying thing is that when I print to the PrintPreviewDialog it is scaled perfectly but when I print the exact same code to the actual printer it does not fit.
EDIT 3:Full code can be found at this url Usage:
Dim clsPrint As New clsPrinting
With clsPrint
.Landscape = True
