View 39 RepliesFirst off, I'm using Visual Basic 2010. I've done pretty well with starting out with some basic things. Copying some codes from tutorials to learn what each code does. But lately I've been venturing into possibilities of ideas in my head, and the recent idea is very simple, but I'm not sure how to approach it.
I have a main form that has options to open up other forms. And in one of those other forms, I want to make it so that you can enter text into a textbox, then click a button to "save" the textbox's content so that anytime the program starts, that previously saved content of the textbox will be the same.
And on top of that, I want to relate the textbox back to the code in the main form.
If I didn't explain that well enough, I'm working on making an extremely basic web-browser (a big jump from what I've been doing), and I added the option under a menustrip to open up Form5 to change the home-page.
i wan to display the text from combobox into the textbox and clear the combobox text when click on the button.But when i select another text from the combobox and click the button, the textbox display and overwrite the previous text.How can i do so that when click, textbox display text from combobox and clear combobox text. We have a ListView containing some commerce items and the user can click on items to put them in a shopping cart. The problem is that when clicking 10 times fast on one item, only 4-6 items is added to the shopping cart.I get the same result when building a simple test application with only one ListView, with one item and a debug.print in the click handler.I have tried to add a Button in the same testapplication and this is fast..[code]

In the main form I have a menu item to open my frmUserType, In this form I have a button to open another form which is my frmCreateUserType, In this form I have a button to add records then update the listview in frmUserType. The problem is the listview will not access with my add button control in frmCreateUserType. I tried not to used mdiparent declaration for my frmMain and frmUserType as children and it works, so meaning that the problem is showing my frmUserType as childform?I am using vb.net 2008

I have a vb.net application that uses Flash movies (AxShockwaveFlashObjects.AxShockwaveFlash). I have buttons in the flash movie. When they first start using the application, they can single click on the buttons in the flash movie and button responds accordingly. But after a while (and I haven't been able to pin-point an exact thing that changes it or my issue would be solved), the user has to double-click on the button in the flash movie for them to work.
View 2 RepliesI want to create a server control that inherits System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button but gives it special capability, now what do i mean? i want my button to be a confiorm button that will work like so:
Renders to the page as a button of lets say cancel after the user clicks it i want to catch the click event (within the server control) and now after the click makeing the button not visible and makeing some kind of content placeholder (that will render from the server control) visible. that content place holder will have 2 buttons inside of it: yes and cancel. I want the programmer that adds this control to be able to register a function to the click event of the yes button. and the second cancel confirmation button should make the first button appear agian. (i know how to do this all in the client side but this time i need it all as server events)
My question is this: how do i catch the click event? i want it all to be handled inside the server control itself. so a programmer that adds this control wont have to worry about anything but just needs to register to the click event of the "yes" button.

Imagine you expand onto 'Sofas and armchairs' and click 'fabric sofas', it will redirect to next page on click and it will send data '10661' to the next page. Then the listview will updated with reference '10661'. After that click on another link, maybe leather sofas. The listview will re-update table with new reference '10662'

I am working on an aspx site that lets an admin-level user fill out a form with potential member data. Once the form is filled out, the user will click submit and the data will go off to different tables. One part of the form that is stumping me involves filling out three textboxes (txtFirstName, txtLastName, txtGrade). I have a button (btnAddStudent), that, when clicked, should add the information from the textboxes to a table-like display area. I am trying to use a gridview, but there is nothing to bind it to. There is no memberID number to load a blank record from the Student table (which is a many-to-one relation to Member table). The member record is what this form is creating, and the student data will be added to the Student table when the Submit button is clicked.
I am currently working with the code found in the reply here. But when I click the "Add Student" button, I get a new blank row, but my textbox values are not inputted in the gridview.
Can this work, or do I need to look at using a table and adding rows of textboxes dynamically?
