I'm using the code below to send large strings (500kB) to a server. I'd like to show the upload speed and in order to do that, I need to calculate the amount uploaded every second.
In a Timer that fires every second I get the BytesUploaded, divide it by 1024 in order to get KiloBytes (kB/s) and show it to the user. Then I set BytesUploaded to 0 and one second later do the same process.
The uploading is done asynchronously and the size of the data is added to BytesUploaded at once. This means that BytesUploaded is not being updated in a constant flow and has a totally different value almost every second.
I have a .Net program that has to run on a cluster of server 2008. To find out the right IP I resolve the dns by GetHostEntry(VarDefinedInfConfig).AddressList(0)
but when I am converting my old code (this code picks the wrong IP) dns.GetHostName().AddressList(0) => this returns a virtual IP and not the right one.So I changed my TcpListener to (dns is parameter from config)Dim listener As TcpListener = New TcpListener(New IPEndPoint(Net.Dns.GetHostEntry(dns).AddressList(0), 8001)) listener.Start()
i have a datagridview binded with the datatable via its datasource property....now i want to add the Amount column of the dgv and display the total amount in the textbox,if the amount is greater than a certain value then i want the cell to coloured red so i did this code and it worked great:

so if i say want to cruise 29 miles at 12 knts it gives me an awnser of 2 hours 24.6 mins instead of 2 hours 25. Although i do realise that 2 hrs 24.6 is technicaly right i was wondering if anyone here could help me with getting it into the correct format?
im trying to make a fast food program on which the user will input the amount that he has, then he will check on what he wants, by using check boxes. There are 7 different check boxes with 7 different amounts of money. I have the program somewhat finished (thanks for the people that helped me before) but theres still a couple of things that I still need to get finished but I dont know how to.I need to be able to get how much money the user has (this will be entered threw a text box, I think I accidentally messed this part up, because I cant get it to work right, (theres alreasy a permit amount of money in there and it needs to be what the user enters instead of the permit, 5.59, one) and this will be the maximum amount he can spend, then the user will check on the food he wants (and the program will add the sales tax also) then it will produce an answer saying if you have enough money or if you dont. But what im confused on is how do I get the users amount of money and make it the maximum mount he can spend and make sure it doesnt go over the amount that he has checked.[code]

I set the value in VBT as 1.205, but if i print that value in Immediate window it get changed to 1.20492553710938. I need to display the value, whatever i have set.

This produces a rounded rectangle where only the top left corner is accurate.AntiAliasing has to be turned off because it is going through a remote desktop connection, and I can't depend on it being available. Besides, I am looking for a crisp rounded rectangle.I've tried resizing the other corners and changing the pen alignments, but nothing seems to produce a simple, accurate rounded rectangle.Is there a way to draw a better rounded rectangle than this in good old winforms?

I'm creating a program (SURPRISE!), one of the features it has is a tutorial helping with learning a language which has a lot to do with the program's topic. So, I want the program to be capable of getting what the user inputs using his microphone (as a respond to a question the program asks), then analyze it and compare it to a prerecorded answer, then tell him how well he did. How to do that?
If this can't be done using VB.Net, which wouldn't be much of a surprise, then what programming language or whatever do you recommend for me to create an external .exe file which takes in the input, analyzes it, and returns the result to my program? I am currently creating a program to send keystokes to a program at certain intervals. I need the thread to delay between keystrokes, and i need to be able to have the user input the amount of delay from the GUI via textbox. I have it running perfect with Thread.Sleep(), but it just isn't consistent enough. How can I code it to be accurate to roughly 5ms up or down? thanks, and here is the code. is it possible to draw an accurate circle in vb.net with mouseDown and mouseUp boundaries? I only manage to create circle-settings with rectangular boundaries using DrawEllipse. I've tried to work around it using pythagoras but it just doesn't work and I'm pretty sure I've got my maths right...

I need a snippet to check file for validity (I'm allowing users to upload xml files). So I need to check whether uploaded file is XML. The best I can think of is just check if extension is ".xml". What if its replaced?
If you were to upload a project to any site but are concerned about the large file size, what are the only files you need to zip up for your project to work for either VB 2008 or VB 2010? So far I know you don't need the exe's, the pdbs, and xml files.

i would like to create a fixed size frame for user photos uploaded. I've tought: i, can create a fixed sized image (200 width x 600 height for example), with my personal frame (top, left, bottom, right element graphics) , and in the center a transparency.
Ok, but i don't know how to merge the photo into the frame and save the new photo format.
