Get Current Enumerator (iterator) In LINQ Query / Like A Current Index In For Loops

Sep 20, 2011

Is that possible to get current Enumerator (...or iterator? Don't know which tern is the correct one) in a LINQ query ? For example, I try to create a XML output (via LINQ to XML) of all currently loaded assemblies. [code] is it possible to somehow get current "index" (counter?) from LINQ's Selects? I would like to use it in XML. [code]

I am trying to figure out how I can get the Index of the Current Object in Object that Implements IEnumerable / IEnumerator. I am not real familiar with the IEnumerator / IEnumerable interfaces so a coe example would be helpful. I looked here [URL] But I am lost. I see something on GetHashCode for the Current Object but have no idea - as I am not familiar with hashcodes either.

Keyup Event - Get The Current Value Of The Current Row And Column

Sep 12, 2011

I have a datagridview having 3 columns (qty,scraft factor,actuall qty). What I want is if the user encode 50 in qty and 2 in scraf factor, actuall qty will automatically computed based on qty multiply by 2. I was using keyup event. Now I am using endedit to get the current value of the current row and column, now the problem is if the amount to be encoded is more than one digit it will not accept because of endedit. What event do I have to used? or any solution with this scenario.

C# - Query Table Data Only For The Current User's ID (VWD Asp.net 3.5)?

Jun 7, 2010

I'm using the Details View control of VWD asp.net 2008

I have a users database table. One of the columns contain the "uniqueidentifier" user's profile ID, created by VWD (from the automatic profiles table).

From my table, I would like to select only the data pertaining to the logged in user.

How do I get the current unique user profileID in general and then how do I use that for my query?

In the configure data source option of the control, I select the check box for "Return Only Unique IDs" and the WHERE option. In this new window I select the Column to the profile userID ... "=" and then assumed I should select Source: "Profile".

Now what should the parameter properties or value be to select only the current logged userID?

OR how can I do this just in C#? There doesn't seem to be any code behind after instering a DB with the VWD controls?

How To Use The Vb Equivalent Of ++ For An Index Property In A Linq Query Projecting A New Type

May 3, 2011

I'd normally do this in C# but since I've got to get this code in this particular assembly which is a vb.net one, I'm stuck.

Here's my linq query:

Dim i As Integer = 0

Dim oldAndCurrentIntersectionOnNames = From currentApplicant In currentApplicants _
Group Join oldApplicant In oldApplicants _

[CODE]...

You'll see the .Index = i+=1

This was my attempt to do what I'd quite happily do in C# (i.e. Index = i++) in VB. Unfortunately the VB compiler doesn't like that. how I'd do this in VB.

Index Was Out Of Bounds - For Loops And Arrays

Nov 23, 2009

I'm trying to create two arrays filled with a set of strings from two tables in a database and then compare them. For example:
array1[0]="1101" and
array2[0]="0110"

If both respective characters equals 1 then perform an action. But when I run this code I receive the error: Index was outside the bounds of the array. System.IndexOutOfRangeException.

For some reason I believe the problem area is with the following two statements:
comparestringa = userintarray(x) and
comparestringb = eventintarray(x)

When I comment them out, the error doesn't show.
myconnect = New SqlConnection("xxxx")
Dim Table1 As New SqlCommand("SELECT * FROM Table1", myconnect)
Dim Table2 As New SqlCommand("SELECT * FROM Table2", myconnect)
Dim array1 As New ArrayList
Dim array2 As New ArrayList
Table1.Connection.Open()

LINQ Query Is Enumerated - Turn On Some Kind Of Flag That Alerts Me Each Time A LINQ Query Is Enumerated?

Sep 22, 2009

I know that LINQ queries are deferred and only executed when the query is enumerated, but I'm having trouble figuring out exactly when that happens.Certainly in a For Each loop, the query would be enumerated.What's the rule of thumb to follow? I don't want to accidentally enumerate over my query twice if it's a huge result.

For example, does System.Linq.Enumerable.First enumerate over the whole query? I ask for performance reasons. I want to pass a LINQ result set to an ASP.NET MVC view, and I also want to pass the First element separately. Enumerating over the results twice would be painful.It would be great to turn on some kind of flag that alerts me each time a LINQ query is enumerated. That way I could catch scenarios when I accidentally enumerate twice.

Asp.net - Complex Linq Query - Add A .Where() Or .Any() Predicate To Reduce Query Complexity (in VB)?

Sep 14, 2010

I have to join two main tables, and I need to filter the results by elements in an ASP.NET web form. These filters are created on the fly so I have to use a lot of where extensions to filter the query. I want to execute the query with as optimized SQL as possible.

I am first doing a simple join between TW_Sites and TW_Investigators. Then there are two sub-tables that are involved. TW_InvestigatorToArea and TW_InvestigatorToDisease. While most of the where clauses are working fine, I have found a performance issue that won't be an issue right now, but will be an issue as the table gets bigger.

The arrays DiseaseCategories and DiseaseAreas would be the results of a CheckBoxList result.

Protected Sub LoadResults()
'Get Dictionary of Filters
Dim FilterDictionary As OrderedDictionary = Session.Item("InvestigatorFilterDictionary")
' Initialize LinqToSql
