Visual Studio - Net Project Disappear Instead Of Giving An Error Message?
Jun 5, 2012Why does my VB.Net Project disappear instead of giving an error message?This only started happening recently, but when debugging with Visual Studios instead of getting errors, the program just closes as though the stop button was pressed. This doesn't happen for all error types but it consistently happens if there is some sort of casting error. This is an overly simplified example, but the lines below would cause a program to vanish as soon as they run. Dim i As Integer i = "A" One other interesting part of this is that if that was in a try catch block the error would be caught instead of closing the program.I'm in an office setting so I've been able to test a number of configurations and have found that this problem only affects Windows XP PCs, but not Windows 7. And it consistently happens with Visual Studios 2010 Professional and Ultimate, Visual Studios 2008. Besides that we apparently we all need Windows 7.

Visual Studio Causes Error In SQL Management Studio
Apr 17, 2011This is my first try of Visual Basic 2010 Express, though I have 10 yrs+ experience in VBA. I'm running Windows XP SP2 on a desktop pc with following installed: Visual Basic 2010 Express... just installed! SQL Server 205 Express ... been running on pc for 12 months I've created a new DB in SQL for my test application, but have not added any users or permissions to it as I'm using Windows authentication.
I've created a new Windows Forms Solution in VB2010EXP and tried adding a new Data Source for my new SQL DB, but it keeps giving error message about not having rights ot the db. 2 days of searching on the web has confirmed many others with similar issues, but no obvious solution. Eventually I find a few threads about permissions and moving the mdf into the root of the HDD, so try moving my mdf file up closer to the root of the Hard Drive msf was in C:Documents and Settings\_SharedDataApplication_DataMSSQL2005Data now in C:SQL2005Data

(Exception from HRESULT: 0x80020003 (DISP_E_MEMBERNOTFOUND) )" performing the following scenario:- Opened a sample VS 2010 WPF project that I receiveved from a co-worker (Project compiles, and run on his machine)I tried to open project properties (Project --> Properties)The project properties panel/window didn't open, all it had was an error symbol (red/white X) and the error message above(HRESULT: 0x80020003).I am unable to view niether the designer window nor the code window (no messages are reported) but the pane where the code/design shoud display is empty, all you can see is the background color.

Sep 1, 2011I know it's possible in asp.net to create a custom error page in a web app, by putting the following line in the web.config: <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="frmErrorPage.aspx" />
I have had to do this for my web app, since it is clearly much tidier than letting the program bomb out with it's ugly default error page. My custom error page just has the customer's logo and a brief message saying "Error has occurred. Please return to homepage"The trouble now is that I have no way of knowing what caused the error, when a customer reports it.
Is there a way to make the actual error message appear on this custom error page too?

Asp.net - Custom Error Message In IIS
May 9, 2012In IIS 5.1, i have set the website security to Basic Authentications and i have set the page for custom error in IIS which is directing to c:est.asp file. When user try to access the website, the user name and password screen comes up and after entering the wrong password 3 times, system shows the custom error page which is fine but why does system prompt for the user name and password again (for three times)?
I don't want user login screen on custom error page. I have tried to put the custom error page on the default website and set the security to anonymous but it still shows login screen on custom error page.

IDE :: Getting Error Message When Installing App

The application requires that assembly Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.Vs Version 9.0.0.0 be installed in the Global Assembly Cache(GAC) First. It is not completely clear to me if this is something that I have to 'include' in my application, or something I have to direct my friend to install in his computer. (Or how he can get it?)

Also no four a values can be the same since there are only 4 cards of the same type in a standard deck.
