View 4 RepliesI have a asp grid with a few columns that bind to data. The last column has been converted to a template-field. In this template-field is a button with a modal popup extender attached to it. Hidden inside this field is a modal popup. This modal popup is used to add a new account. it contains 2 text boxes, drop down lists and buttons("Add" and "Cancel"). When "add" is clicked the modal should close after the inserting of the new account in the code behind.
The Problem: I get the popup to display and load the Drop down lists from the cache, without problem. How do I get the button click event to fire in the code behind. I've tried using a JavaScript function that performs a _doPostBack('btnAddAcc','') but it keeps returning the error "JavaScript error: Object expected". I gathered after about 1 hour on Google that it is because "btnAddAcc' is not found because it is actually within the grid-view cell and can't be directly accessed. Using page methods and ajax calls is a last resort as the company has a strict policy against this and only allowes this after a bunch of paperwork.

View 1 RepliesI am back - I have my code - it is part of another main form for a child's desktop view. I have it in a console app that works great. My new form has 3 text boxes, and a start button - txtquestions, txtUserAnswer, txtResults and cmdStart - to start the game. I made some slight changes in the numbers, because I needed it for a younger child (6-7), and removed 1 case in the case select (a square root problem too much for a little one). I click on Start button, and it freezes up. I am in Debug, but do not get any kind of problems showing me a bad line of code.

I am not sure about the loops, but it doesn't just freeze up anymore, as in an endless loop. Now I am getting a stop at the first 'parse'. I actually followed the instructions in a VB 2008 book to do this, and in the help section of Visual Studio with the function and the parsing. But, that is where it stops - I know I had to convert the input into - at least I think I did. The text box for input is just that input. The user's answer is typically a number, except for at the end.

i have connected my SQL SERVER 2005 database to vb.net and program is capable to show the database in the data grid view. but what i want is when i change the data in the data grid view and click onto update button,changes i made should be saved in database so when i execute the application again i should be able to see the updated database in the data grid view.

I have students who will be enrolled into a course. The student grid view has many columns like client_no, student_name, date_of_birth, address, etc. There are over 100000 students so I will need to filter the student grid view to find the correct student to enroll in the course. Once they are found, the user selects them and somehow moves them to the enrolled grid view. If a student drops out then they would be removed from the enrolled grid view.This process needs to be easy to understand and use. Are there any examples available or other suggestions on how to do this?

I have browser control in a winform application that navigates to a secure intranet location. In the web application that sits in the browser are several links that bring up other windows outside of the browser... like dialog type browser windows that may contain information like user information... etc.
When I run the application in a regular browser, it runs the new window perfectly but when I click on the same button link in the web application, it brings up a windows with no data saying that I don't have access to the server.
When the user selects an "account" we dynamically create a linkbutton with the selected dates. However, the linkbutton onclick handler doesn't fire when the button is clicked.
