I am using Html.DropDownListFor to build a select list. It is a simple list of numbers from 1 to 100. One of the parameters - selectList As System. I'm having an issue with the view setting the selected value on the drop down list if we are reloading the Search View. I've checked the View Model (ItemSearchViewModel) when it comes into the Search function and the Manufacturer is populated with the proper selected value and successfully passes that value back to the Search View. At some point the data passed to the view doesn't seem to populate the selected value, was wondering if anyone had some ideas on why this is happening and what I can do to fix it.

I have a DropDownList in MVC which grabs a SelectList initialized and populated by a controller. The goal of the specific page that said list resides on is to reply "You have selected option X" immediately to the user without refreshing (using Ajax).The problem I'm running into is that for some odd reason, while the dropdown renders properly and even posts back correctly, any attempts to add new options or modify previous response messages are in vain.

Part of my MVC 3 VB.NET has a view that uses a list(of model) and a for each on that model to list all the contents.. The problem is that a selectlist is part of each item.. When the value is selected for each item it is not being posted back to the controller with the rest of the items.[code]....

I can use watin to drop the list down and select (highlite) an item from the list but the selected item will not populate the textbox above. It seems like watin's .select() is not triggering an event to fire.I can work around this by writing in the first letter of the item in the combobox and use the hypertext feature to select the item but this is not ideal.
View 2 RepliesThis may sound really stupid but I have to ask cause I'm not finding this answer anywhere.I have an application where the user will need to sign up for a new user account on the website [URL]..However when I am using Firefox's plug-in Firebug to view html I am getting something totally different than when I just right click on the site and view the page source.
What I am trying to do is to get the captcha from the website and display it in a picturebox on the application so the user can view the captcha, solve the captcha and then the app post is back to the service for a response.

AIQ is a VB.Net app deployed via ClickOnce. It is an intranet app; one can be sure MS Office 2003 and the interop 11 dlls are on the target machines.
Restrictions: MAPI is out. It mangles the HTML. Since it is a ClickOnce deployment, we can't register dlls (I think, correct me if I am wrong). Therefore CDO and COM is out (again, I may be wrong.... I would be happy to be proven so).

I am trying save a value from an input tag in some HTML source code. The tag looks like so:

I have the page source in a variable (pageSourceCode), and need to work out some regex to get the value (3 in this example). I have this so far: [Code] Which works fine most of the time, however this code is used to process source code from multiple sites (that use the same platform), and sometimes there are other attributes included in the input tag, or they are in a different order, eg:

I just dont understand regex enough to cope with these situations.

I am trying to build my own website and realized that it would be a big help to also create my own vb program to enable me to embed tags with simple clicks of buttons. I am having trouble getting my vb code to be compatible with html code (I keep getting vb syntax errors).
Here is what I've tried:

I have to submit a HTML form to a 3rd party website and one of the hidden fields is an XML string. The XML needs escaping before it is sent to the 3rd party.
However when I add the plain XML to the form field it semi-escapes it for me. So then when I use HTMLEncode myself part of the XML is double-escaped. How do I prevent the automatic escaping that appears to becoming from .NET.
Or even better how else can send the escaped XML via the hidden field.
