Visual Basic 2008 HTML Text Editor - HTML Tag Generator?
Aug 7, 2010
I am trying to build my own website and realized that it would be a big help to also create my own vb program to enable me to embed tags with simple clicks of buttons. I am having trouble getting my vb code to be compatible with html code (I keep getting vb syntax errors).
Here is what I've tried:
<strong>'Inside of a button:Textbox1.text = "<html tag example></html tag example>"</strong>

With my recent new project with HTML/Markup generator/editor, I have run into a roadblock. Basically here is my code for replacing markup with HTML. The way this works is that the webbrowser has the same text as RTB1. Since the Webbrowser supports HTML, it automatically converts to the style that is specified in RTB1. [Code]

My students did a tutorial in HTML Help Workshop to add Help files to a VB 2008 Windows application. They zipped the files and uploaded them to our class web site.
I downloaded them at home, unzipped, and tried to check, but every one shows Table of Contents or Index and cannot find the .htm documents for the topic. The same thing happened in my office. However, these projects work correctly in our classroom
lab and do display the .htm files.

I'm new to visual basic & have learned many new things in such a short period of time from being on the MSDN forums. I have learned particularly in the subject of automating web browsing control using the getattributes etc., but I have tried everything that I have seen in the forums to auto click the "Settings" link in a created gmail account and then have the browser automate the "Forwarding" to another gmail address. I haven't found a solution anywhere to accomplish this.
So here is an account to try out in which this should only take a few mins to a veteran coder:

I think in C# you can create in-line RouteValueDictionary instances like this:
<%=Html.RouteLink(Model.Name, "SomeRoute", new { id = Model.Id }) %>
What's the equivalent in Visual Basic?
This works, but is quite wordy:
<%
Dim d As New RouteValueDictionary()
d.Add("id", Model.Id)
%>
<%=Html.RouteLink(Model.Name, "SomeRoute", d)%>

How can I add my HTML code to my VB.NET application. I know about making a .html file and calling it from WebBrowser1.Navigate, but the problem with that is, I don't want to have a separate file. I would like everything to be embedded into my vb.net source.

I am trying save a value from an input tag in some HTML source code. The tag looks like so:
<input name="user_status" value="3" />
I have the page source in a variable (pageSourceCode), and need to work out some regex to get the value (3 in this example). I have this so far: [Code] Which works fine most of the time, however this code is used to process source code from multiple sites (that use the same platform), and sometimes there are other attributes included in the input tag, or they are in a different order, eg:
<input class="someclass" type="hidden" value="3" name="user_status" />
I just dont understand regex enough to cope with these situations.

This may sound really stupid but I have to ask cause I'm not finding this answer anywhere.I have an application where the user will need to sign up for a new user account on the website [URL]..However when I am using Firefox's plug-in Firebug to view html I am getting something totally different than when I just right click on the site and view the page source.
What I am trying to do is to get the captcha from the website and display it in a picturebox on the application so the user can view the captcha, solve the captcha and then the app post is back to the service for a response.
Here is the source that I am getting using Firefox's Firebug to inspect the element:
<td>
<input type="hidden" value="Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK" name="iden">
<img class="capimage" src="/captcha/Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK.png" alt="i wonder if these things even work">
</td>
[Code]...
Why would the two be showing me two different versions of the HTML?
And how would you be able to grab that source to view in a picturebox using webclient?

Need a bit of help with HTML Agility Pack!Basically I want to grab plain-text withing the body node of the HTML. So far I have tried this in vb.net and it fails to return the innertext meaning no change is seen, well atleast from what I can see.
Dim htmldoc As HtmlDocument = New HtmlDocument
htmldoc.LoadHtml(html)
Dim paragraph As HtmlNodeCollection = htmldoc.DocumentNode.SelectNodes("//body")
[code]....
I have tried this:
Return htmldoc.DocumentNode.InnerText
But still no luck!

Usage: Users create pretty HTML news letters in another app. They post the newsletter to the web, but they also want to set the contents of the HTML news letter file as the body of an email and send it using Application In Question. The users understand to use absolute link and image references when sending an E Newsletter. Environment:
AIQ is a VB.Net app deployed via ClickOnce. It is an intranet app; one can be sure MS Office 2003 and the interop 11 dlls are on the target machines.
Restrictions: MAPI is out. It mangles the HTML. Since it is a ClickOnce deployment, we can't register dlls (I think, correct me if I am wrong). Therefore CDO and COM is out (again, I may be wrong.... I would be happy to be proven so).

I am trying to find out if it possible to create a windows form that will post an XML file using a simple HTML Form? I have the HTML page that will be used to post the XML file already created, what i wanted to be able to do was enter the XML into a text box on my form which the user can post. When the XML is entered and the button POST is hit then the XML is added to the HTML page that i have already made and posted to the webservice. Is this possible?
What i also want to be able to do is display the XML response received following the post, to update you if the post has been successful, is this possible?

I'm a beginner so please try to explain things simply
Public Class Form1
Private Sub RichTextBox1_TextChanged(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles RichTextBox1.TextChanged
Form2.WebBrowser1.DocumentText = Me.RichTextBox1.Text
End Sub
Private Sub PreviewToolStripMenuItem_Click(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles PreviewToolStripMenuItem.Click
Form2.Show()
End Sub
Private Sub OpenToolStripMenuItem_Click(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles OpenToolStripMenuItem.Click
OpenFileDialog1.Filter = "All Files(*) | *"
OpenFileDialog1.ShowDialog()
RichTextBox1.LoadFile(OpenFileDialog1.FileName, RichTextBoxStreamType.PlainText)
End Sub
Private Sub SaveToolStripMenuItem_Click(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles SaveToolStripMenuItem.Click
SaveFileDialog1.Filter = "All Files(*) | *"
SaveFileDialog1.ShowDialog()
RichTextBox1.SaveFile(SaveFileDialog1.FileName, RichTextBoxStreamType.PlainText)
End Sub
End Class
Say for instance I put this into the rich text box
HTML
<html>
<head>
</head>
<body>
<script type="text/javascript">
</script>
</body>
</html>
When I type betwenn the script tags, I get a warning from the program.
An error has occurred in the script of this program.
Does anyone know how to help me?

I was recently asked to do some research on some third party HTML editors to be embedded into our current software (Which is built in VB). I began doing some research, but no luck.I don't know much about building HTML editors, but is this something that can easily be done?From what I've been told, I need something like CKEditor, but not for web use.

I'm currently creating a HTML editor using a WebBrowser control and using IHTMLDocument2, but I'm currently having a problem that when I insert a table the user is unable to resize the table columns by dragging the border.
I was wondering whether anyone had done anything similar using IHTMLDocument2 and how I would be able to allow for the user to resize the tables like that. Or if anyone knows any good HTML editors that are written in VB.Net and are open source, unfortunately this is a requirement as I have to do some custom stuff for my customer.

how do I disable browsing to a http link from a Html editor. I have a vb.net web form with a html editor, when I add a hyperlink to the html editor, for example my application website for instance[URL]...When I run and click the link I can browse my application from inside the Html Editor which is so weird.It should open the link in a new window. How do I stop this from happening.This is an Intranet application. And the component for Html Editor is of TMS.
Or is there any Javascript code available where I can deactivate the link from an HtmlEditor, i mean when i add any hyperlink it should be not be activated , or no should be able to browse it from inside the HtmlEditor ?

When you try to edit the pasted text this will happen:It randomly selects text in front of the cursor. This is only when the pasted text contains a keywordmatch.
