Handling DPI Changes In Windows Form?

I am developing a windows based application in VB 2005, the main form of the application is of fixed border style (i.e. user cannot resize the form), but in certain cases I am resizing my form through code. Intially the form has a fixed height i.e. 350 for normal height and 400 for extended height. But in this case the problem could not be solved effectively as the user can have different DPI setting e.g. 120, 144, 192 etc.The logic I implemented is to divide my form (vertically) into 3 parts

I have various input textboxes on my form. And based on entries made in each of the input textboxes, I update the display textbox. However, using AppendText message of textbox. I have my input textboxes set to accept only numeric values. So for each character inputted correctly, I update the display Textbox. Problem I have is when user selects Key.Back or Key.Delete, what I would like to do is do a Delete of last character in the display textbox, but I am yet to get this right. How do I delete the last character in the string that is contained in a TextBox using AppendText()

I have a form within which has a webbrowser control. The site i view in the webbrowser control requires me to log in so i have made a one click login button which when clicked logs me in automatically. When i'm in the backend of the website, if i click on a certain button it pops up a new window that i need to make a selection from. But when this window pops up it asks me to log in again?Is it possible to catch all pop up windows so they are loaded in another form which also includes this 1 click log in to save the hassel of logging in manually again?

(simplified) I have a button in form1 that creates an instance of a form2, fills some data unique to that instance, and shows it. This data should be unique. Any attempt to create an identical form2 should fail, and instead bring to front the matching form 2, but if the form 2 is filled with different data (representing a different person) than it should be created.

I have a custom class which basically manages the program settings.
In it's New() event, I'm performing a check to see whether a value stored in My.Settings is the same as the default value (I made sure the value wasn't!), if not then it will perform a RaiseEvent ValueChanged().
On my form, I have an instance of the class declared "Private Withevents ProgramSettings as New clsProgramSettings", I also have a handler "Private Sub DoSomething() Handles ProgramSettings.ValueChanged" declared.
When I run the program the form gets loaded, the instance is created, the RaiseEvent is called, but the handler is not receiving the event?
I tried "Private Withevents ProgramSettings as clsProgramSettings", then creating the instance in the Form.Load(), but still no success!?
Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is there a problem with the IDE? I'm using VS 2010.

I am trying to pull some report details from a website. my home page is having a list of Report IDs, by clicking them i will be navigated to the detailed reports.. Similarly i have so many report IDs in my home page... i have loaded my page in webBrowser1 and capture the link of the first report id by looping through the page. After capturing the link of first report id i am trying to navigate to the link using webBrwoser2 which is placed in the same form. the page loaded sucessfully and i can extract the report to the textbox.
Here is the problem : before complete the navigation action in webbrowser2 the first loop used to get the links of report IDs got completed. So i am not able to loop all the report ID's Link to get all details.
I am not sure i am doing the right way of extracting a data from a web page..

I'm struggling to get a label or any item updated during an event handler I've tried Form.refresh/update, application.doevent, trowing laptop out of window, etc...
If i check for TextChange event on the label and return the value in a msgbox it is set however nothing is shown on the form I'm calling COM's in a backgroundWorker so the form stays responsive as the COMS take quite a bit of time to handle certain parts and I dont want the form to look as if it hangs.

I've been busily working on a solution for my JSP page problem using an AxBrowser instead of a WebBrowser .NET control. However - the problem seems to be that whichever approach I use, the "back to results" button on my work's JSP page produces nothing but an empty white page in the results frame. I've compared keystroke for keystroke in WebBrowser control, AxBrowser, and IE. The in-built solutions all fail, but the standalone IE works perfectly.Might the problem lay in the way the form is handling the processing of the web pages in the in-built solutions? Could it be a problem with Asynchronous processing?If so, would it be advisable to try the WebBrowser control in a BackgroundWorker setup? It must be something to do with my application, since IE processes the form correctly.

My application's binary serialization was working well up to today (this is not a released app yet - still in development). I have a "Project" class that is the top-level class of a hierarchy of other classes related to its function. And before you think it, yes, all of those classes are marked as serializable. Infact, they all were being serialized before today.
I have one event on the Project class that assists in informing when the project's save status has changed (i.e. new, modified, saved). This event was added today along with some events on the other classes that filter up to the Project class (the project needs to be told when its objects have been modified). I unfortunately added all of this at the same time so I can't provide any incremental details as to when it stopped working, but when I try to save the project through my binary formatter it tells me that my main form is not marked as serializable. Well, yeah... of course it isn't! it shouldn't need to be because there is no member of my classes that even mentions the form. But for some reason handling the Project's event on the form triggers this error.
Serializing the form is not a solution. Neither is not being able to handle my Project events. If I comment out the handler it works fine -- and I don't even have to remove the WithEvents keyword on my form's Project variable. Now that I write that I'm speculating that it may have to do with the event being raised as a result of the serialization (occurs when the save button is clicked).

I have made my application to start automaticly when windows start (registry ../currentversion/run/appname + path). In this mode the application start minimized and an little icon appear in the notification icon area. With this icon you can maximize the app or exit it.If you exit the app and start it again using the Menu (Start/programs etc) than the application start in minimized mode (and in this case I would like to have it in normal mode) because the setting autostart is still true.Is there a way you can detect when the application start when windows startup using the above registry or when people click on an icon in the programs menu (or desktop)?

I have a VB.Net project that I am running from a local server and I need to use the credentials the user is currently logged in with to upload a file to a folder I create on a SharePoint site on the same domain. I can get it to upload if I specify the credentials but it will not work with system.net.credentialcache.defaultcredentials. It just gives me 3 empty strings and I get a 401 unauthorized error. I have seen a few threads that say you cannot use it with Windows Forms Applications. Is this true? Here is my code:

I have a solution with several projects most of which are code or control libraries. I have a main windows forms application that references and uses these libraries. What i am trying to do is create a 2nd windows application that extends the main one, but i would like to be able to deploy them as separate exe's.
When i try to add a reference to the new app referencing the main app; all seems fine until i try to run the new app i get several error msgs similar to below:
Error 1 Could not find file 'ADODB.dll' referenced by assembly 'D:Visual Studio 2005ProjectsXXXinDebugXXX.exe.manifest'. <newAppName>
i have tried adding references to all the dll's in the error messages and they are still listed when i try to run the new app. I thought of a few work arounds but they require user changes to maintain separate exe's at deployment. I would like to avoid this if possible.

I have a basic Windows form with one Crystal Reports form veiwer control on it. When ran on the development machine it displays the report fine.After build and publish the application is now installed on a user PC. I am getting an error that the Crystal Decisions. Windows. Form version 12.0.2000.0 can not be found. All the Crystal dll's are in the install directory but none of them are being installed in the install machines GAC.Am I setting my publish output up wrong, may references wrong, or is the local GAC files the problem. The message is so criptic, it doesnt really point me in the right direction.

FormA calls DialogB where user cancels DialogB which exits via ForceTermination(), see insert.Caller FormA check for DialogResult not = OK, which it isn't, and I can see this in debug as Abort(3).However, the code continues merrily along its way until I get a 'null reference' error which I'm trying to avoid via Force Termination().This is caused by the user cancelling DialogB, a selection process to get a database (SQL) instance.[code]
