I placed my code in the rowprepaint event of the datagridview and on start up I get the results I am looking for. However, if the user selects the row or a cell in the row then the value will display.
I don't want the value to show even if the row is selected.

Apr 14, 2010I'm writing a standalone application in VB.NET using Visual Studio 2005. I want to display/hide a bunch of Buttons based on the selected value of a ComboBox. Each selection would have a different set of Buttons to display, and I'd like to have them arranged in a nice grid.
Driving a TabControl with the ComboBox value would be the kind of behavior I want, but I don't want it to look like a TabControl to the user because it might be confusing.Is there a way to do this?
Basically, I'd like Selection1 of the ComboBox to show Buttons 1-4, Selection2 to show Buttons 5-11, Selection3 to show (maybe) Buttons 1, 3, 5, 6, and 8, etc., have them arranged nicely, and have the GUI show only the ComboBox and the buttons.
Winforms - Hide Button Text Or Make Image On Button Cover Text?
Aug 10, 2009I dynamically create buttons on a form and use the button text as ids so that I can pass that to an SQL query to pull saved data about that button when necessary, but I also use an image over buttons that have information saved about them. What I need to know is how do I keep the text on the button from appearing when there is an image assigned to that button? By default vb.net shows both the text and the image and no TextImageRelation values allow for the image to take precedence. I tried changing the text color to transparent, but the outline of the text is still visible through the image. Is there anyway to keep the text value as it is but just show the image on the button?

Nov 30, 2010I have a button that I am trying to only allow specific people to see. So I need to unload it or hide it if they aren't the correct person or have the requirements. When I try to use btnUpdate.hide() in my else it will first allow someone to click on the button and use it then it will hide it. It's not hiding the button right away. Thats what lead me to think that maybe i am suppose to unload it some how if its not the correct user or users.
How do i unload a button if its not the correct users.

When the button to enter the text from the textbox into an array is clicked the button needs to become invisible again unitl more text is entered into the box, repeating the cycle. Apr 18, 2012I have a simple web for that has a dropdown list and a button on the form.The dropdown list is bound to a table in my database and holds three values with idents between 1 and 3 (Weekly,Monthly, Please Select).I have set my datasource to pull back item 3 (Please Select) as the first item in the dropdown list to prompt the user to select an option. Items 1 & 2 have data assigned to them and this pulls back the relevent data for these options.
Here is my problem. I need to hide my button when the page loads until the user selects item 1 or 2 and would like the button to be hidden of option 3 is selected. I have tried to complete this in my page load event and the code for the dropdown list but i cannot seem to get this to work.
