Hosts Contacting Remote MySQL Server

I am probably beginner to intermediate at coding now, and want to make an application that interacts with a mysql database on my website.The application would be a Windows 7 App (Windows Forms) and i would like to contact the MySQL database and search and insert etc into it.The problem is my MySQL only allows contact from certain IP address (which you can add, but i cannot add "all")I am looking for advice on methods i could use to interact with the Database on my website, from an application which could be used by multiple users anywhere in the world.

I've created an application that inserts data into an MySQL database, I have used xampp on the local machine to make sure that the database worked with the application and that everything worked correctly
now when editing the connection string so that I can connect to a remote machine on my LAN I keep getting an error saying "Unable to connect to any of the specified MySql Hosts"
I've checked all the credentials in the connection strings I.E username, password, database name and the machine address.[code]...

I have developed a frontend app using VB 2010 which is to connect to a remote MySQL server. My server has an internal IP address of 202.56.20.72 and an internal IP address of 192.168.20.44.
When I use the internal IP in my connection string and connect over LAN, the whole thing works fine. But when i changed the IP to the external address and tried to connect to the server over the internet, I get an error something like 'Failed to connect to MySQL server for user 'user'@'localhost', [using Password=NO]. This means that for some reason, it is not connecting to the server at all.

Hello,does anybody know if it at all possible to contact the DHCP server from a VB.NET project with the aim of passing a computer name and it returning the MAC address (and last known IP address). The purpose is that the machine may be switched off which is why we need to go to DHCP Server.Basically need to know the Libraries to imports and get started.

I have got a MySQL database stored on a remote server. I can user PHPMyAdmin to access the database and make changes to the table, i can also use a third party piece of software to do the same however when i try and access the database through my program it says that "Access denied for user 'lukefrost'@'%' to database 'PHCAdminSystem'". However it will allow me with the same logon credentials the other ways explained above. Can anyone help me with what the problem might be?

I create an application in VB.net which connects to MySQL, deployed it to 10 computers. 8 of them worked perfectly, 2 of them gave me the error:Unable to connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts.What was different with those 2 computers? Is there any setting I need to do on the MySQL server itself? Anything I need to change/update on those two computers?

I have an issue with my code. The application interacts with a MySQL database on a remote server, I have access to this server. When my app is running the insert into code I m getting this error: "Conversion from string "INSERT INTO phpvms_fsspireps(pil" to type 'Integer' is not valid."

I'm developing a remote control program that uses a mysql database as the bound beetween the server and the client.The only problem is that cause of mysql being really varnuable to crashes i made it in a way that it checks for information every 10 seconds so things doesnt get messy. [code] For some reason after 10 seconds the connection is mysteriously aborted and the reader gives a fatal error.How can i extend the time limit to >10 seconds ?

I am trying to connect to my remote MySql Database within Visual Studio using the compact framework.
I can successfully add a data source and preview the data within the IDE so assume that the connection is ok regarding Connection strings and remote access.
However, when I attempt to access the data using any run time control I get the following error when the table is loaded using the .fill method.

What i have going on, is i have a MySQL connector as a resource on my application, and im basically trying to connect to my MySQL server, to either a) register a new account, or b) check that the account exists and they are premium, and login, Now what i have run into problems with is: My MySQL Database Name has a _ in it which VB is not allowing for some strange reason.

I'm looking into creating a program which will on program opening connect to a remote mysql database, download the data and store the data into a local file (keeping both in sync is the idea).
Getting a connection to the remote database is my first hurdle, and i'm not suceeding, i know i need to read through more info but if i could get this working it would help me tremendously.
I have attempted to connect using the mysql connector, using the server IP and port number ie. 199.002.999.000:3306 but it doesnt connect, it does connect locally ie. localhost but for some reason it won't connect to the remote server.
My other problem is that i cannot control the mysql server, i.e connections allowed remote etc, i think they're just enabled to accept connections from the server.
Is there a way to run a hidden browser script behind the scenes, download and run the file? I've tried looking for possible ways to acheive this, but have come up trumps so far.
