I have a web browser control, what I use is:
Ret = (MainBrowser.ReadyState <> WebBrowserReadyState.Complete Or MainBrowser.IsBusy)
If ret is true, not loaded, otherwise, loaded. It works fine on winxp, however, on vista, most times, it works, sometimes, not. Do I have to use documentcomplete for this? The page is loaded from another thread, does it matter?

View 2 RepliesWhile navigating to a series of sites at one site the WebBrowser control's DocumentCompleted EVENT is tripped and no other recorded Browser events occur after that. When this happens the hour glass cursor indicates the browser is waiting. From this point it take 120 to 250 seconds of wall clock time before the browser resumes. I am looking for a way to force an abnormal termination without destroying the control. I have tried "Stop", "nav to about:blank" repeatedly without success. How can I force an abnormal termination when the Cntrl is in a wait state?
Consider the following: The last known Browser event to be tripped is a Document Complete event; nothing else occurs after this. When this transpires the Cntrl is waiting.

i used to use Auto..I'm trying to login to a website wait for the page to finish loading then navigate to another page.the issue is if i don't use wait command something like documentcompleted it skips the log in and navigates right away to the second page.I have no clue how to use documentcompleted this is the code i came up so far.[code]

View 15 RepliesI'm getting spotty results trying to build a procedure that queries Yahoo finance, retrieves a stock quote and then passes the HTML body contents to a text variable. Using a WebBrowser control, it works in a 2 step fashion, using a textbox to input the symbol and a button to trigger navigation. After the WebBrowser window fills, I can pull the contents out of the browser window. In this case, it's just one number to keep things simple. The working code appears below:

I am using <%@ MasterType virtualpath="~/__.Master" %> to embed my master page content into child page to access control belong to Master Page. I have one DropDownList in Master page. And I want to access its SelectedValue in my Child Page.
Problem is when page first time loads and as I am trying to access DropDownList's Selected Value by writing in child Page - "Master.DropDownList.SelectedValue". I am not able to get DropDownList's Value. Its display's Blank.
But When Page.IsPostBack I am able to get SelectedValue of that DropDownList.
Does anyone else get a noise from the WebBrowser whenever you load a page? Internet Explorer does this too and I want to turn it off. Does anyone know how to silence this?

After stepping into my code during run time it appears that the app is trying to call my sub before the next page appears. What would be the way to place a pause on the Thread so that the web page can catch up before running the next sub?

I want to load some HTML into a webBrowser control, then operate a particular bit of code when it has finished loading.The code operates fine as long as I pause to wait for it to finish loading. If I just run the code without pausing, it sometimes messes up the display. webBrowser.Document Completed doesn't run after Document.write.I don't want to use webBrowser.DocumentText = "..." because that makes an annoying click sound every time it refreshes. A lot of people are annoyed by this. There are countless threads asking how to turn off the click, and using .write seems to be the only solution that doesn't require hacking the registry.

I have added the reference for mshtml namespace in com tab. When trying to run the program, error is thrown like "Type 'IHTMLDocument2' is not defined. (BC30002)".
I'm using a WebBrowser control in my current program in a bit of a bastardized way: I don't use it visually, I just use it because I'm more familiar with its events.
So, basically, I create a WebBrowser control and navigate to a page to login. Then, when logged in, I create a new WebBrowser control and navigate to a different page.
I've used this program for four months with no difficulty. Starting today, though, the second phase of that has been going really, really slowly. What used to take 3-5 seconds is taking 25-30 seconds. It still works eventually, it just takes a while.
Usually I would assume this was a server problem. However, navigating to the exact same URL in Firefox happens extremely quickly. Weirder still, within the program there is a user WebBrowser control -- I can copy/paste the URL the previous (not visible) WebBrowser was navigating toward into this user WebBrowser, and it goes just fine.
What in the world could be holding up this other "custom" WebBrowser? I don't even know where to begin in diagnosing this.It might be important to note that the site this is working based off recently underwent some changes -- but I can't imagine why that would affect only these "custom" WebBrowsers and not the user one in the same program.

View 3 RepliesI have been tasked to do a project, and have been given a list of links from the client - what the Project needs to do is:1 - open google with a specific search phrase - no problem2 - look on that page for any links containing any member of the list of links, if found, invalidate the entry in the list, and auto-click the link, then go back3 - repeat for any other "finds" on that page4 - when done, auto-click on "Next" (no problem) and go back to step 2For now, I am not even attempting to auto-click the found link and go back, I am just listing all found links in a TextBox. The problem I am having is waiting for the next pages to load before looking for a match in the list of links. I tried using webBrowser.DocumentCompletedto set a Boolean - I tried testing WebBrowserReadyState in the DocumentCompleted event ar the code below gives the best results but it is inconsistent, meaning it completely misses some pages that I know have links on them that match.

This works fine in IE 7 and Firefox.I then want to access this extra content in my program. Having found the HTML element containing the link, I tried element.InvokeMember("click"). I have used this successfully with a submit-type link to login to the web site, but cannot get it to work with the JavaScript link. I also tried setting the focus to the link element and using SendKeys to send the ENTER key, but all to no avail. Nothing seems to happen. Whenever I try and browse to a page with the 'TestHeader', IE opens up and goes to the page.... However, if I navigate to the same page without the additional header, it loads up fine in my webbrowser control.
