Well I'm trying to change the form color using a combo box. It seems easy, so I tried it. I just get errors. This is what i'm trying to do:
Form1.BackColor = Color.Red
But it fails and gives errors.
I have a combo box which will store a list of RGB values generated when the user makes a custom color in the color dialog. The values are stored in the combo box in RRR, GGG, BBB format. I have this working. The code for this is as follows:
dlgChooser.ShowDialog() Dim colorR As String = dlgChooser.Color.R.ToString() Dim colorG As String = dlgChooser.Color.G.ToString() Dim colorB As String = dlgChooser.Color.B.ToString() lblTitle.ForeColor = dlgChooser.Color() cmbRecent.Items.Insert(0, colorR & ", " & colorG & ", " & colorB) cmbRecent.SelectedIndex = 0
The next part is to change each recent color's background color to match whatever color the values represent (so that it's easier to pick from the colors). How do I assign a background color to each item listed in the combo box?
I have a combobox called cbMaterialType on a windows form that's bound to a table in SQL - everything loads great and the combobox displays 'Material' items as it should, in that table I have two fields - Material (as mentioned above) which is a char(25) and InStock which is an nchar(1). If the InStock field contains a '1', I'd like the individual material to be green in the combobox, if '0', then red. I have the simple code in the drawitem event of the combobox as follows, but can't seem to get any results at all:
Private Sub cbMaterialType_DrawItem(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DrawItemEventArgs) Handles cbMaterialType.DrawItem If MaterialTableAdapter1.GetData.Item(cbMaterialType.SelectedIndex).InStock = 1 Then cbMaterialType.ForeColor = System.Drawing.Color.Green Else cbMaterialType.ForeColor = System.Drawing.Color.Red End If End Sub
I've never worked with any form of color in comboboxes before and this is my first attempt at the drawitem event.
Is it possible to change the back color of a form to transparent? I don't want to use transparent key. Because I want to put a semitransparent picture in a picture box and there is a big problem with transparent key. The semitransparent pixels show the transparent key color.
completely understand what it does, when the cell value is changed the color of the cell changes according to the value selected.
Now, how would i change this code so that it works when the form loads? so cells show the color when the form loads. red for unpaid and green for paid.
I've got 2 radio buttons on a form and am trying to allow a user to change the color of the form based on which radio button is selected. I've used select case in a separate procedure to do this because ultimately I'd like to have about 1/2 dozen or so color options to choose from.
The color changes when the first radio button is selected (pink or green, doesn't matter), but when I try and select a 2nd option, the program crashes (VB 2010 Beta).
My code so far is:
Public Class Form1 Private Sub SetColourScheme(ByVal colour As String) Select Case colour
[Code]....
I get a 'StackOverflow' error, but I don't really know what this means. NB: Adding 'Return' keyword made no difference to the outcome - same error.
i would like to have a trackbar on my form that will correspond to the HUE of the color of the backgruond, given a range of 1 to 360, and another trackbar that will correspond to saturation of the color of the backgruond, within a range of 1 to 50.
I am trying to write code to load all nown color names from color.xxxxxxx in a ComboBox, but can not get it right. I can not find the Color Enum member. What I had in mind was something like this:
I have a combo boxthat holds a list of values that are a custom object and when a value is selected a few text boxes are loaded with data. I use the SelectedIndexChanged Event. Works wonderfully.I noticed that this even is also called when a user clicks the 'x' to close the form. I just wanted to understand the logic behind that. I get that the technically index is changing since the cbobox value is being set to nothing, but to me that just seems a little inefficient.
I have a question of VB event handler and color picker. Now I have a label, and I want when user click it, it pops up a color picker dialog and let user to change the background color of the label. Not sure how to implement this, can anyone give me a direction?
Alright inside of a combo box I have a list of colors and I want to change the background color of the combo box to the selected color...basically this... but im not sure what the problem is here anyone have some advice or is this not possible?
when ever the form resizes I want my combobox (placed in a toolstrip) to increase or decrease in length to make sure it fits. Say it's about 500px before the combobox and I need about 200px after it. How would I do this? I've tried the various methods for the textbox, but I can't get it to work with the combobox.
I am using .NET 1.1, so I don't have the access to listitem object. I would like to change the text color or the background color of certain items in a listbox. can it do it in .NET 1.1?
at the moment i can change the datagridview combobox cell style using the cellvaluechanged event handler using the following code: Private Sub DataGridView1_CellValueChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellEventArgs) Handles DataGridView1.CellValueChanged If e.RowIndex <> Column1.Index Then
