Create a GeneratedNumber application that stores in an array with indexes 1 through 100 numbers generated by the index values when Generate is clicked. Generate the number to be stored at each index by summing the index and it's individual digits. For example, 25 should be stored at index 17 because 17+ 1+ 7 = 17 and 4 should be stored at index 2 because 2+ 0 + 2.
Your program should use a FillArray() procedure to generate the nuymbers and DisplayArray() procedure that displays each index and its element in the list box.

am writing an system application for a company that must generate inquiry id and order id automatically. Whenever a customer makes a new inquiry or new order by clicking the add button, an automatic number should be displayed in the text box and when it's saved, it should be saved in the database access.

So how would I use .next (random numbers) to randomly select something from a list of numbers but it can't repeat the number?I could do:
dim num as integer
dim r as new random
num = r.next(1,5)
if num = 1 then
elseif num = 2 then
etc.
That wouldn't work because it would repeat.If I donwload someone's game can I disect it in VS? :0 I tried going to open project, then I went to the folder and clicked open. It brought me inside of the folder so I tried to open the game but there is no form1 there. It says the games name then .exe in the explorer-like thing in the top right?Also, how would I have a value or something in a label and access it from a button.
Example:This is in a label.
Dim number as Integer
number = 0
Then in the button do
Label.number = 0
How would I do something like that? I want to use that a lot as I did in a different language.

'm attempting a program and need to generate 10 random numbers between 1 and 52. However all the numbers must be different. I'm trying this in a For Loop. I'm not terribly amazing at this so all I have so far is:
Dim B, I, J, max, min, card() As Interger
max = 52
min = 1
Randomise()
[Code].....
What am I doing wrong and what is the ultimately simple solution I know the internet can provide for me?

I have an error panel that is subbed in to a page if an error goes wrong to gracefully handle and display errors.Currently, I am just appending the error messages to a string and pushing that to a label. If you have multiple errors, this gets messy.I'd like to push each error to a list item in a bulleted, unordered list.How can I dynamically generate, from a vb codebehind file, new list items inside of an undordered list element?

I am making an application that randomly generates numbers. I then have to find out if those numbers are even or odd. Then place them in the corresponding array ( EvenNumbers() or OddNumbers() ). Then display the random numbers array then the even and odd numbers array. I am up to the point where I have the generated numbers and can tell if they are even or odd, but can't get them into an array. I am trying to do it like this....

randNum = Replace(Guid.NewGuid().ToString(), "-", "")
randNum = randNum.Substring(0, 19)

Generating random numbers in an array HELP

I need to generate 'real' random numbers from 0 to 500 (e.g. 247.214, 477.125, 1.247, 54.078, 147.001 ......etc). I am using this method:
Dim Myrand As New Random
Dim Res As Double
For i = 1 To 10
Res = Math.Round(Myrand.NextDouble, 3)
Next
This method gives numbers between 0 and 1. if I use: Res = Myrand.Next(0,500), then this gives Integer numbers.
The questions is: Is this possible with (Dim Myrand As New Random) or I have to try another way (e.g. Rnd() ) for doing this?

You see three buttons which all contains a one digit number (1, 2 and 3) at the start of running a program. There is one other button stating "Randomize" and when you hit this randomize button all the three buttons that were first containing 1, 2 and 3 are now shuffled in a random order like 2, 3 and 1. In fact, when clicking the randomise button the figures will stay between 1 and 3.I was hoping to sort this out with the following code but it didn't actually work at all:
Dim a, b, c, d, x As Integer
a = Button1.Text
b = Button2.Text

I'm trying to make a Bulls and Cows type game, I was able to do it fairly easily with javaScript, but VB is killing me. I can get the array 5 slots long with random numbers, unfortunately they're all repeats. when I try getting no repeats I run into infinite loops, exponentially increasing array lengths, and just plain old arrays with 5 numbers randomly generated, but with repeats.
I'm trying to do this with loops, in JS I did it using regular expressions
Here's an example of my code.
Public Class Form1
Dim intRand(0) As Integer
Dim RandomClass As New Random
[Code]....

What I am trying to do is create a form with a button and a list box. When clicked the button will generate a list of 3 or 5 characters that have alternate letters and numbers...eg.
q2h
a6j
z4p
d9k
[Code].....
To complicate things a little, each combination needs to be different, ie. randomised but still according to the 'letter,number, letter' formula. There are plenty of examples of randomising strings such as passwords but I cannot understand how to achieve the above.
