How To Return Binary From DB Using LINQ To Display In Browser

I am trying to return a binary from the DB using linq for display in the browser. The method below using ado.net works but I am trying to ypgrade to linq but the linq version returned the error.

i have a table in sql server with some fields set as Byte() (System.Byte[]) when i import them in my application to be used with linq they are converted in Binary (System.Data.Linq.Binary)why is that?is there a way to prevent this wrong translaton???if i update the database how can i update the classes that has been craeted in visual studio2008?

I cannot get the following to work for me: its the section that sets the default for system.data.linq.binary. The database I work with doesn't allow nulls in any field. So I generally run my buffer through this routine to populate defaults and then set the real values independently, (this works when I miss a field). I can set the Linq table field = fakeBinary and it works like a charm. Thus, I don't understand why using reflection can't pull of the same thing.
Ex: Me.CM20500WindowBuffer.Reconcile_Messages = New Byte() {0} works.

I would like the following function to return Nothing if the element with the specified key is not in the collection. Instead, it returns an error - something to the effect of "no element found"

I have been searching a lot online but couldn't find a solution for my problem. I want it to refresh every certain interval of time without this message to display. Now Ican't minimize my program because I'm putting an automatic Sendkeys.send("{Enter}") after the refresh to get rid of that message by clicking on "Retry".And If I minimize it the Enter will be executed on the active Window, which might be any other Window.
I hope that you understand what I mean, If not, I will clarify more.

Can a LINQ or a LAMBDA expression be used to count the 1's in a binary string ?For example, if I convert a number to its BINARY using.>>

1) Without using a loop such as a FOR NEXT loop, can I count the number of 1's in the STRING using LINQ or a LAMBDA expression?
2) Can I get the indexes of where the 1's are at in a collection such as a LIST using LINQ or a LAMBDA expression?I know the syntax of some LINQ expressions, however, I don't know which method may be suitable.

I have a decimal I want to be able to display as a binary or a hex. I keep seeing code that says Convert.ToString(decimal, 2) to display as binary string, but in 3.5 that is invalid.
Is there no built in formating for binary in 3.5?

I've made a Access database of my CD collection I have lots of movies and I copy the picture of the original DVD from www.imdb.com into my database in a OLE field I can see the picture that's connected to the desired record just fine in access but now I'm working with Visual Basic express 2008 and I want to connect this Access database to my project. I can see the data just fine but not de OLE pictures
I changed the properties of that picture into a picturebox in de datasource screen bu I don't see a picture (blank)

I have a method that takes in an id, a start date, and and end date as parameters. It will return rows of data each corresponding to the day of the week that fall between the date range. Is this the most straight forward way to return a typed collection?Here's the key line of code which returns a implicit type of IEnumerable that used to manually loop through to manually recreated a TYPED collection. ok here is my problem, im making a little app for school since our school blocks pretty much everything so here is my plan a student makes 2 gmail accounts one for school one at home.
in the program at school (client) they put a site request into a textbox and they hit send, the request is then sent to the home pc gmail account and another app on the other side downloads the full site that they have requested and then sends them an email back with an attachment of the complete website, it is then opened in a browser and they have the site, simple idea and it would be easy except.
my school blocks the smtp protocols in vb, even outlook cant use gmail accounts only the schools registered email, however, you can access gmail on the internet without any blockages and you can send and recieve on the gmail website.so how can i use a webbrowser control to log the user into there gmail account through a custom gui, and send a string like www.facebook.com to the home pc gmail account, and then use the web browser controll on the students laptop to recieve the response email through a web browser, is there some kind of gmail api i can use?
