Insert In A Form A ProgressBar (Max Value 1000)?
Aug 5, 2011If I insert in a Form a progressBar (Max value 1000) and I write this very simple example
For x = 0 To 990 Step 10
ProgressBar1.Value = x
Threading.Thread.Sleep(5)
Next
Me.Close
If I run the code with Windows7 setted as Windows Classic I can see the progress bar value go to the max value and after few time the Form Closes (same with Windows XP).But If I run the program with Windows7 setted as Windows7 Basic the progress bar value ONLY goes to the HALF max value and after half time the form Closes.
The code is the SAME, the PC is the same, Seven is the same (only personalized with different theme) but under Windows7 Basic it seems that For x = 0 To 990 Step 10 becomes For x = 0 To 550 Step 10..The INCREDIBLE thing is that if I insert in the For... Next a row like:
Debug.Print(ProgressBar1.Value.ToString)I obtain right values until 990... but for my eyes the progress bar only goes to half value in half time, then the Form closes.

May 2, 2012in my windows application i am retrieving the recently modified data from warehouse database server using static ip suppose two columns empno,designation from emp table in this i am retrieving the recently designation modified employees and in my local server database also i have emp table with all employee details which are in warehouse database now i have the designation modified emp details using this i want to update that designation details in the local emp table to that related employees only not all employees designation actually the records may be more than lakhs records some times i have to update 100 record some times thousands records if i am using loop it takes more time?

DB/Reporting :: Bulk Insert Is Only Breaking Every Other Row?
Dec 12, 2008Bulk Insert is only breaking every other row. I've tried every ROWTERMINATOR I can think of, but none of them will break all lines. I've even tried to break it on exact text, and it won't break it on that exact text. I've attached a pic and circled what appears to be the line break that it refuses to recognize as a line break. When I open it up in notepad, it recognizes it as a line break.

May 5, 2009I have been given a task to create a new billing system for my company and I have been trying to get the customers from one Access 2000 database into the SQL Server 2005 table

The problem lies in the strSQL where you see dbo_Libraries.LibDescription.Value and dbo_Libraries.LibID.Value.
Before, I merely put single quotes around the fields from the from the Access Table and it inserted exactly the code itself, dbo_Libraries.LibDescription.Value and dbo_Libraries.LibID.Value , and only 1 record. There are over 300 records in the table.
When I put double quotes around both, separating them out from the string I get the error "Arguments Not Set."

Sql Bulk Insert - Character Acute (a) Is Showing As N++
Jun 14, 2012Its regarding 'Bulk Insert' sql command where I having problem regarding some French Accents. The 'Ã ' or 'a acute' is showing up as n++ in database table after I insert them from a text file. And this is the only character that is having problem with current conversion. I tried to modify the command using 'WITH' clause and assigning value such as 'RAW' or '1252' or 'ACP' but none of them were able to retain this particular character. The database I am using is Sql Server 2008. FYI, I aint using any encode or decode technique. Just trying to put whatever on text file back into database.

I don't want that account to have permissions to that folder, and would love to use a proxy account if I could instead.

Insert Thousands Of Records One By One
Aug 26, 2011I only process the File name.The file name already contains all the information I want.[code]I decode the name and insert into the table with columns (DateTime, Location, User). I'm not opening the file. It's a Jpg image. After processing it, I need move the file to a folder based on the UserName.[code]The function will be called for every single file found. Is this most efficient way? Looks like it's is very slow. I need to process about 20~50 files/sec. Probably a stored procedure?
SQL Insert Skipping Some Records

With the code above, I'm trying to create and insert records into a MySQL database. The issue here is that not all records are inserted. If the XML document I'm reading from has 80 records, only 40, or 66, or some other number get put into the database. I'm guessing this is because the code is trying to insert the records faster than the database can handle them? What would the correct way to make sure the record is in the database before moving on to the next one?
