I used a third-party Socket component in my program, but it's erroring at the SendCallBack function. I want to take it out since it isn't necessary to my program. Can I make a solution, put in the modules which code the component in that solution, edit just a little bit of their code, and then export the new dll? I have no idea how to do it though.

I have been able to export data from a query to the xlsx file..howerver those fields which are currency in my sql server 2005 table are currency are showing up in the spreadsheet as text. The column mappings are correct when I look at it in connection manager.

We use a small bit of excel exporting code in our app code at work to export XML controls from our ASP pages into an excel format using the following code:

This is all fine, except we've encountered a rather frustrating bug. If the XML control has a link in it then the export code is called again. We have a button which will say "Export to Excel" from the .aspx page which simply calls ExcelExport.Export(Xml1, "MyFileName") which is in a LinkButton click event.Here's the order of events based on the form submit (selecting filters)

So the user submits a form which loads up the XML control in a nice viewable XSLT page. Then they click "export to excel" which will give them the page in excel instead, then they click on the XSLT page, for example a link, but the save dialog for excel comes up again. We've gone through the series of events, and if we do not call the excel exporter it goes through the series of events as normal. If we do call the excel exporter it will go through the page load event and unexpectedly go into the link button click event.

Edit:For some reason when the GridView1 is visible and I try to export, the entire page exports and not just the gridview. Not sure why!

I have had no experience with the VB .Net framework. I'm quite comfortable with VB. I wish to create a DLL out of some code which performs some calculations. Is it possible to create DLLs which can export functions using VB .Net? (I read somewhere that we can only create 'ActiveX' DLLs and cannot export functions out of it)
This link [URL] does give a method of creating DLLs by replacing the Linker of VB with a new Linker which can add the '/DEF' field while creating the DLL. Is this doable for VB .Net as well?
Also, the DLLs I want o create will be used by VBA codes in Excel Workbooks. Another way I think it could be done is to put the code in a Module inside a workbook and use it as an add-in. I need to create approx. 150 such DLLs, so I'll have to create 150 separate Add-ins. (Thoguh each add-in will only be loaded when it's required.)
I currently have a DataGridView that grabs SQL data and exports it to a csv file. The problem I'm encountering is when my data already contains commas.
In the datagrid and csv file some of the values already contain commas such as:
0456,4546,05566873035,65465687
I'm trying to make the csv look like: "0456,4546","05566873035","65465687"
so that my users can open it in Excel properly and if a comma was put in, it doesn't shift data over to a new column. The current code will separate data based on commas, rather than based on the column. Is there a way to encapsulate my columns with double quotes using the code below?

I have the following code which works fine. However, I want to change one format when I export it to excel
Colum 3 is Sort Code and have the format 00-00-00, I want to change it to 000000 i.e., remove the dashes.
When exported to excel I use a formalue (Substitute(A1, "-", "") and this removes the dashes. But what I want to do is remove the dashes before exporting to excel... Please see the code below for datagrid - excel export, highlighted is where I think the one line code should be..
