How To Make Control Such As PictureBox Into Star Shape
Jul 22, 2010
If you are using VB.Net 2005 or earlier. It was asked if a control can be made star shaped in this thread. [URL]. Then I have updated my Shape extension method to include a optional third parameter. The 3d parameter is indent percentage or indentPercent. The default is zero so there is no indent. If you indent by say 50% you will get a star shape.
The various ways you can call this extension method are;
'Please note: myControl may be any kind of control
'such as a Button, a PictureBox or whatever.>>
Dim myControl As Control = New PictureBox()
'Defaults to 6 sides with no rotation angle.>>
myControl.Shape()
[Code] .....
Currently I'm trying to make multi selection (draw shape) on the picturebox but no matter how i edit my code, it jus dn draw any square or circle when I click on my button (either circle or square).
Below are the codes that i'm currently working on:
Public Class Page_2 Public blnCircleClicked As Boolean 'Is The Circle Tool Clicked? Public blnSquareClicked As Boolean 'Is The Square Tool Clicked?
In addition to the shapes you can create with the code from this thread. [URL]. Here is code to make a control or a Form into a vertical cross shape. This will show you how you can do it in Vb.Net 2008 and 2010 using extension methods. The following post will show how you could do it differently in Vb.Net in other versions as well as Vb.Net 2008 and 2010.
1) From the PROJECT menu select ADD MODULE.
2) In the NAME box type CrossShapedThings.Vb and then click on OK.
3) PASTE this code in.>> Option Strict On Imports System.Runtime.CompilerServices Module CrossShapedThings <Extension()> _ Public Sub MakeCrossShaped(ByVal aControl As Control, Optional ByVal CrossWidth As Integer = 10) [Code] ........
here is my problem i am making a blockbusters game and have come across a problem where 2 picture boxes overlap each other which i dont want so i need to make a picture box or a button into a hexagon shape so they wont overlap
i want to add a rectangle or circular shape control in datagridview cell & i have to change its fill color after some specific time (Like blinking led).
I am trying to make a shape move in a rectangular route clockwise. Right now I am only able to make the shape go right, down, left but not back up again. Whenever I try to make the shape return to its original position, the shape moves back up at the wrong place.
Public Class Form1 Public movingright1 As Integer Public movingdown1 As Integer
I have got a couple of VB Powerpack Ovalshapes on my Form.I use these for a quick indication if the networked device is online or offline.I can't seem to control the Visible function (or any other function for that matter) one my Background Worker is running.For my Textboxes I used a guide by jmcilhinney which worked great for them but there is no 'Invoke' property for graphics controls.
i have created a control as above, this control allows me to import a png with alpha channel and random shape. and then it can display on top of any other control, i.e. textbox, picturebox,etc. and the background should always show what right under it, instead of just show its parent control. it worked if it's static mode, ie stand still in the form. but when i tried to drag/move it, the control wouldn't render itself properly,and also goes underneath other controls.
I need to plot some analog values read from the serial port.I plot them in a picturebox starting from left. When I reach the end of the control at the right side I shift all values to the left of a point and I plot the new point at the right, (I have some flickering but it could be acceptable). This is my plotting control.My problem is that I have to clear the control (picturebox) in order to plot the shifted graph, but the method Clear of the Graphics class clears everything inside the picturebox, even my grid.How can i make always visible a grid "in" my picturebox?
1.a transparent image with a grid over the PB? (the clear method cannot remove it)
2.an image with a grid below the picturebox that must be with a transparent background to make visible the grid?
I have designed the image with a pink frame inside the image, so I would like to know how to hide the pink frame inside the image and make the picture going into a shape??
I have a system created last year called the "Faculty Performance Evaluation System" in which the students will evaluate their instructors according to their performance. Now I'm trying to change that and the questions are to be loaded from the database. Here are my options for displaying the questions and the rating stars:
1. Using lots of labels placed in the form as well as images(stars)But this will consume lots and lots of codes and the number of questions is limited. Also, I can't do a control array in vb.net unlike in vb6 so it will be very long... 2. Using listview/datagrid?- is it possible to create this project with a listview containing the stars in the 2nd-6th column?, If so, how?
(It's ok to lose my background but the stars can't. Since using this kind of control will make my number of questions unlimited)- then, if I'm to choose this option, how would I save the results into my database? (fields: studnum, category, quesnum, rating)
I'm using VB.NET but any other known language should be fine as long as it uses basic features. My task is to create astrological compatibility chart, when two users have certain astrological sign as inputs and there is a text about those signs compatibility. for those who are unaware of astrological signs but still want to help, there are 12 signs. Each sign has different compatibility with other sign or itself. So basically i get into 12^2-12 conditions. ie. Aries with Cancer "do not match at all" so I can save one record of that issue as backwards it is the same (thus -12 at the end). Question is simple is there any other way to create this except of using 12^2-12 case issues...
The following .bat file runs through only once when the argument contains a star (*), but if I write out all of the arguments I get an ECHO and PAUSE for each one.Doesn't the star work for batch files? [code]
I am trying to make a picturebox follow another picturebox. But I also want this picturebox to be able to collide with the other picturebox if the picturbox stops. I hope this is not too confusing. I cannot figure this one out. The code below is probably nothing like what I should be doing, but i cannot think of any other way to do what I want.
PictureBox1.Location = New Point(PictureBox2.Location.X) PictureBox1.Location = New Point(PictureBox2.Location.Y)
I have two Picturebox and both should be transparent background, but the real problem is both transparent for form background but not over each other .
I've got a Panel on a main Form containing a PictureBox control on Top of a TableLayout control. Both the child controls have their docking properties set to Top. The Picture control has sizemode set to Zoom.
What I'm finding is that the picture doesn't size properly when I start the app. There is a border at the top and bottom in the PictureBox control. It's only when I resize the overall form that it's correct.
So at the moment I've got this ugly bit of startup code, just to fix the problem Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Normal Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Maximized
The error that I get is "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."[code]...
And is it even possible to do a vb6 style implementation? As I see it, this will clone the picture image while the vb6 implementation will just read directly off the image? and is lockbits like getdibits? I need to process 60 bitmap images of about 200pix by 200pix every second.
