Aug 2, 2009I have a form with around 20 ovalshapes (the one that comes with Power Packs 3.0). I have named them p1, p2, p3, p4 and all the way up to p20. Is it possible to loop trough each shape in the form and check if the name contains a specified number? I'm thinking of something like this:

Nov 24, 2008this is so simple its embarrassing to ask. How do you display a picture in a picturebox? I want to have a static picture displayed on my single form application. I tried adding a picturebox control to the form and setting the InitialImage setting to my pgn file. But when the app loads they image is not displayed. I've googled around and found many references to adding pictures out of databases and etc, but nothing as simple as my. I just want to display the one image.

Jul 22, 2010If you are using VB.Net 2005 or earlier. It was asked if a control can be made star shaped in this thread. [URL]. Then I have updated my Shape extension method to include a optional third parameter. The 3d parameter is indent percentage or indentPercent. The default is zero so there is no indent. If you indent by say 50% you will get a star shape.
The various ways you can call this extension method are;

Jun 10, 2010I am trying to get a line to expand whilst the user hovers over a specific Label or Button, I thought the best way to do this would be using a however so far I cannot get the process to loop until the user stops hovering over the item.

That is pretty much what I have so far, it works however I have to keep hovering and then exiting the Label for the size to increase. I have tried various loops however most of them just end up in an infinite loop.Just to clarify, I would like the X2 dimension of the Line to increase until the user stops hovering over the form.

Nov 10, 2011We have an application that has a main form with a map on it. Right now the paradigm is to have forms that are displayed using menu items to display information to the user. Most of these forms are modal forms, but a couple are non-modal forms that interact with the map. For some of the forms, it really would make for a better user experience if we could dock them in the main form of the app and allow the user to see both the form and the map. For instance. We could have a list of map features in a docked window, and select one of the items on the list and have the map zoom to that feature. Or do the reverse: let the users select a map item and have a docked window that shows details of the feature. Sounds great, but I wonder about what sort of gotchas we may encounter. In particular, what if we have two windows docked at the same time? Could we get tangled up in our event code?

Apr 13, 2011I have a picture box on my form. I can load images which I read from a database into the box.
The problem is that the images are all sorts of different shapes and sizes. Some are square. Some are portrait. Some are landscape.
How do I configure the imagebox so that the pictures are reduced to fit, and keep their proportions. As I've got it at the moment, the rectangular ones are distorted into a square, which makes some of them look pretty strange.
