How can you simulate keypresses and releases? I know you can essentially hit a key with Sendkeys.SendWait, but how can your code press and hold q, for example? I essentially wish to be able to call something like press("q") and release("q"). The effect would be the same as physically holding them down.
I currently have a windows services application written in vb.net 2008I want to mass build releases/installers that can carry an unique ID.So that each of my client can download an unique copy of the programMy windows services app must be able to access that unique ID.Heres an live scenario:I have 10000 clients, they can login to my website to download my program.Lets say client #10 downloads my program, the program will be able to read a value somehow that will give "10".The program downloaded by client #500 will be able to read the "500" value. The only ideas i can think of are:- Make the installer read the file name of the installation file, and add a registry key depening on part of the file name.
In our company we have some specific softwares that have several releases during a year and we were wondering to notify the clients about new releases automatically. How can we code this functionality? I mean from where should we begin? we have an ftp which will contain those files. And How is that possible for us just to do the upgrade without uninstall and re-installing the whole package?
I have a VB.NET/C# Visual Studio 2010 Solution with a bunch of projects that depend on about 30 third-party DLLs all from 1 vendor. This third-party vendor recently released a new version of their software so I would like to parallel test their new software and my enhancements until I am comfortable to switch over. What is the best way to setup a solution in Visual Studio 2010 so that I can use the code I have developed on top of these third-party DLLs and have the opportunity to easily switch between:
(1) the new version of the third-party DLLs [for my testing] and
(2) the old version of the third-party DLLs in case I need to debug some problem a user is having.Third party assemblies ARE NOT in GAC (they're currently in a folder on a network drive). They are NOT strongly signed (ran sn -vf ). They are changing from version 5.4.618.0 to 5.4.619.60.
I am making a maze game like the one shown in the how to, I recently discovered that if you hold the right mouse button a you can go through the wall. Is there a way to make the mouse lock and not move when the user trys to hold the button down or When the user releases the button it resets. Like in the web browser with If e.KeyCode = Keys.Enter Then e.SuppressKeyPress = True WebBrowser1.Navigate(ToolStripTextBox1.Text) But with the mouse button when it releases send the cursor back to start.
I want a way to be able to control all the keypresses on a given form. I tried overriding a WndProc of a form to achieve this but I noticed that my text box keypresses are not going to that wndproc. Whats the way to achieve this?
I am currently creating a Space Invaders game. Basically what I want to do is being able to move and shoot at the same time. The problem is that whenever one button is pressed to execute an action it cancels out any other button being pressed. I don't want that to happen. Currently I am just using Key down. How I can have multiple key presses at once?
Private Sub frmain_KeyDown(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs) Handles Me.KeyDown Dim Loc As Point Select Case e.KeyCode Case Keys.Left [Code] .....
That's my code. This is basically the last thing i need done in my project.
I've started building a small game where you move around a PictureBox control with keystrokes using the arrow keys. Everything was working fine....until I added a button.
Now the button steals the focus so that every time I hit an arrow key hoping to move my image, it just selects the button.
Is there any way to make the button selectable only by mouse click?
I've been looking around for a way to accomplish this to no luck, but is it possible to have a series of keypresses (Like Ctrl + Shift + O) or something like that act as an event? I'm trying to find a way to make something like this show a form using the old Me.Show() code.
I have the following code to handle keypresses on the form:
Private Sub Form1_KeyDown(ByVal sender As Object, _ ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs) Handles Me.KeyDown Debug.WriteLine(e.KeyCode)
[Code].....
The first time I press any of the arrow keys the code is not executed and a NumericUpDown(NUD) on the form gets the focus. The rest of the times the arrow keys are pressed everything is fine, until I click on a button. Then the problem repeats, focus NUD, then fine.
I'm making a mario-like clone and I just finished the jumping code. The only problem is that moving while jumping is extremely hard because if you hold down the up key and right key at the same time, neither one activates.
I am attempting to keep user inputs into our application as clean as possible. One way I am attempting to do this is not allowing incorrect data type in fields (not allowing alpha characters when expecting numeric values)I found and implemented the following code:
Private Sub txtSocial_KeyPress(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyPressEventArgs) Handles txtSocial.KeyPress Dim UserKeyPress As Char = e.KeyChar Dim isKey As Boolean = e.KeyChar.IsDigit(UserKeyPress)
The user has to enter the text in the textbox , to write a text user need to press the keys and release the keys. Write a code to count the number of keypresses and keyreleases and display the value in the labels.
im trying to make vb.net translate input from an external device into keypresses. when bit = 1 i want the key down, when bit = 0 i want it up unfortunately with sendkeys it just sends the same keystroke over and over again. ive googled for days without finding a good answer.
I'm using Visual Basic 2008 (Windows Applications) and have a webrowser control to access a website. Once loaded the page requests a log on. What code is needed to simulate a log on click?
the html is as follows: <form method="post" action="/index.html" style="display: inline">
i want to users to be able to vote for their favourite soft drink. They will input the names of the soft drinks through the use of an inputbox, the names input are stored in an array. what i would like to do is count the votes given to each soft drink. How would this be done, please provide example code if possible.
p.s. i tried using a listbox and failed.Well during the set up of the program they will input the names of all soft drinks up for voting, and then all the soft drinks input wll be displayed in a list when the voting take place.
I'm trying to do here is get VB to hold a key down until I tell it to stop. Perhaps I'm missing something but I don't understand why this isn't working. This code can hold down shift and so on for as long as I want it too but absolutely refuses to hold down what i need it too (any letter key or numpad key)[code]
Well i've been trying to make something run with a lot less code(and faster) but it seems with SendKeys some things are getting lost(or discarded) by the program, its only the arrow keys as I try & make it complete a pre-defined maze to see how fast it can be completed.
If I use SendKeys("RIGHT 8") for example the maze usually only moves a few times, sometimes maybe only 1.
Also I looked up how to hold a key down/simulate it but it's not working for the arrow keys(untested on other keys).
The only way i've made it work is delays, decently delayed like 200ms & it's a huge maze but if i hold a key manually I can go much faster yet sendkeys method can't go that fast using individual presses this is why I want to simulate a holding down action.
---it must be working xample code I can make it work for my purpose if it works like on button click, etc....but I tried copying full (supposedly working) codes before & they never worked for me/my key, xample cause i've looked & tried hard(with only failing results).
MORE INFO:Also I tried SendKeys.SendWait() which is meant to wait for keystrokes to be processed & that didn't help either so my best guess is the keystrokes are processed but discarded(like a movement delay code that doesn't queue movements but rather ignores extra movements)
I have small web app that generate PDF files as a report. I'm trying to delete those generated PDF files after 10 sec that they are generated. What I want to do is to read a folder with PDF files every 10 sec, and delete all the PDF files inside that folder.I read this post of Easy Background Tasks in ASP.NET. The following code is the VB version.
I wants to be able to simulate mouse clicks on a WebBroswer in vb.net (even when the program in not on top, it will run in the background) How would I do this? I want it to click on a button every one second in the webBrowser.
is there anyone who can tell me how to simulate click on pop up menu? in spy++ the only i got is #32768 (pop up menu) how to simulate click to the first index of the pop up menu. example on windows desktop, when we do the right click there will be pop up menu, right? and i want to choose the "refresh"
