Loop To Search For Duplicate Numbers Within A Column In A Database?
Nov 28, 2011i have wrote a loop to search for duplicate numbers within a column in a database which i have got fine but when i find a duplicate i would like to get the all of the row so if 33 was a duplicate i would like to get the following row.

I have tried to do this buy use something i saw on msnd's website:

However if i change the line to notice the i beside the like

but i get Index was outside the bounds of the array. Ok i know that means that there is nothing in my array. What i would like is to find the duplicate row associated i. you will probably understand me better when you see the code.

I have a code to open the .txt file and compare strings but I need to change it to compare only the CD name and not all three entries. Oct 6, 2010I have 2 applications that collect data every 5 minutes and imports that data into a SQL Server 2005 table. Every so often the location that I'm quering to get the data hasn't updated thier values so the application is trying to insert duplicate data into the database table. Because I have Primary Keys set on 2 of the 3 columns the insert fails which of course causes an error in my application.What I am needing to do is if it runs into a duplicate insert wait 1 minute or so and then retry running the download data Sub.Each sub calls the next sub in the process line.

This codes works perfectly but there is a problem, if I close that certain form and reopen it and try to input the same student number, the ex.Message for the Try appears and still the progressbar() command executes although the data will not be saved. I want to ged rid of the execution of progressbar() how can I make it work? And as much as possible I want the message box in Else to be executed and not the msgbox in try catch.

.net - Solve The Performance Decay Of A .NET 1.1 Application?
May 20, 2010I have single-thread windows form application written with VB.NET and targeting Framework 1.1. The software communicates with external boards through a serial interface, and it mainly consist of a state machine that run some tests, driven in a loop done with a Timer and an Interval of 50ms. The feedback on the user interface is done through some custom events raised during the tests.
The problem that is driving me crazy is that the performance slightly decrease over time, and in particular after 1200/1300 test operations. The memory occupied does not increase over time, it is only the CPU that seems interested by this problem. The strange thing is that, targeting framework 2.0 and using the same identical code, I do not have this problem.
I know that is difficult without looking at the code, but do you have suggestions how can I approach the problem? EDIT: I am really lost, after a couple of intensive work the application starts slowing down. The selected row is related to its process, if it could help.
EDIT2: Using the Windows Task Manager I detected that the Handles counter is increased by 1 at the end of each operation. I don't know if it is the cause but the application starts to slow down when the handles counter reaches about 1500 handles. I checked that all necessary RemoveHandler are called after each operation. Any idea?
EDIT3: I found that the handles problem is generated by the C++ library we are using to communicated with the serial device. It then happens both in .NET 1.1 and .NET 2.0. The difference, and that's strange, is that if the target .NET 1.1 the application slow down/freeze instead for .NET 2.0 I reached more than 30000 handles without loosing performances. Now I don't know if the problem is really caused by this lost handles, I will try to ask to the developers of C++ library to correct the problem and see if it solves the problem I am having on .NET 1.1.
