How can I view the methods that are hidden within objects please? For example I have a listview vbLstVw - But the only method I can seem to access is by double clicking it to get the
lvwPrac_SelectedIndexChanged
But I know theres more! (I don't know what there called, but for example):
I'm curious if it is possible to hide a group of text boxes from view in a form until a particular condition is met, and to have a custom set of text boxes for that condition. To give an example; I want radio buttons offering choices for a manner of searching records, the user selects one and then a specific set of text boxes are displayed for the user to utilize, if a different option is chosen a different set of text boxes will be shown. Is this something that can be done?
I created one ToolStripDropDownButton in vb.net. I will like to put methods for every drop down items and as well as the Button Menu.... how it possible
I'm reading a binary file into a bindinglist of (t); to be bound to a datagridview. Each line in the file represents a single transaction but I need to consolidate and or filter transactions that meet certain criteriaI know how to do this from a mechanical standpoint (looping the list while adding each item, and adding a new item, or merging the data with an existing item), but I'm looking for a practice, pattern, existing components, or something else that I'm missing (I'm drawing a blank for keywords to search).I don't want to reinvent the wheel if I don't have too. I'm particularly concerned with speed and performance issues with 100k plus records to process in some instances.Currently working with .NET 2.0, but will move to 3.5 if a particularly sexy solution exists.
i have datagridview populated with stock code, name and description. And i have docked my datagridview to the bottom. so whenever the form is resized, the bottom section will be occupied completely with the datagridview. But i want to display one extra empty column and multiple empty rows to completely fill in the datagridview. The extra empty column width will be adjusted to the right end side of datagridview. And the no of empty rows will be generated based on how many is required to fill up to the bottomSo that i can create datagridview with full column and row even though some columns or rows are empty.

I have a list view with 2 columns. I want the user to be able to add there own values to the listview and have them save so that they will always stay there.I would also like users to be able to delete specific items from the saved list.
I am using the listbox control. Now I know how to change all the items in the design view. But how can I change it through code so I can change what it says during run time. How can I get it to say have 5 options 1 2 3 4 5 Using code?

I have a listview (details) with owner draw set to true (so i could make rows alternate in color, looks cooler) which basically contains items and subitems whose texts reflect status info that updates constantly the problem is, sometimes (if the task runs quickly) the status changes really quickly, and as a result, listview items "flicker" for a millisecond no error, no real problem, its just really annoying and makes the program look less professional.
Is there a way to make the listview not flicker? Or maybe there is a way to make it so that the listview doesn't process too many drawsubitem calls during the same time interval? or maybe there is some customized list view out there that does the trick better?
NOTE: i tried with owner draw set to false. it flickers less, but still flickers. same problem :S Also NOTE: i am not making cross-thread calls. i have 50 items in the listview and 4 colums, mainly the last 2 subitems change.
im trying to do is find out the command to compare itemview items with textbox, so i dont end up with 2 of the same customers when i add a new entry, if anyone could give me some advice i would be greatful just a hobby, bold line is my problem in script, need to try and replace.

I'm fairly new to VB programming. I have a control which is mounted within a form. I need to implement a callback, so that the control can make the parent form do something. My plan was to create a MustInherit class with MustOverride methods, and make the form inherit the MustInherit class. However, Visual Basic tells me that the form cannot inherit more than one class, which means that it can either inherit my MustInherit class, or System.Windows.Forms.Form, but not both.[code]...
I want to add some action to my form when it is closed by clicking on the "X" button in the upper right corner of the form. How is this done? I suspect that i must add a handler for some event, but which event is it?
Currently i am using the closing event, but i dont get it to work properly.
I find that if I do me.close and then reopen the form with showDialog later, things are as they were before I closed it. If I use me.dispose and then later open the form again, its as if it was never opened before. Are these two both valid methods for leaving a form?
Okay I have this two Forms.. one for the parent and one for the mdichild. I have a toolstrip menu in the parent with a button(with a pic) named close document.
