I am building a business intelligence application for my organization. I have a form in which I would like to display existing excel spreadsheets. I have searched high and low for a control that would allow me to display a spreadsheet. Basically what I need is a viewer control that I can user to call the individual soreadsheets and display them in the form.I do not want to open excel outside of the application, but instead display the spreadsheet in the form as part of the application.

I am trying to build an app that can search column A in an excel document (with textbox control). In column B, I have info about the column A items. When a column A item is searched, I would like a textbox (or similar) to display info about it from column B.

im trying to design a program where a user inserts text into some text boxes, and selects an item from a dropdown box, and clicks add, i want it so when they click add, it puts the data from the text boxes into an excel worksheet, so say, textbox 1 is product, put product in A1, the second would be cost so put the cost in B1, but the product type in C1(this is the drop down box) and then clear the visual basic form, so the user can enter a second set, and then when they click add, it adds the information into A2, etc, etc.

I have to write an application in Visual Basic.Net that will open an excel file, run through the contents an export a test file for processing.
The application works great for me (Windows 7) but when transferred to a WinXP PC gives the following error: HResult 0X800A03EC
I can replicate this error by making the Excel Application visible so it seems like it is an issue where it can't access the file because it is open. Error occurrs when trying open the workbook.

In a while loop, I am writing a progressively increasing integer value (between 0 and 100) to the Value attribute of a ProgressBar control, when it disappears from the window in which it resides. I have verified at the time that it disappears that the Min is 0, Max is 100, and Value is a valid integer in range.

For my sins, I have to work on a large VB.NET project and it often locks up for 20 seconds at a time whilst doing the very helpful background compilation

I am very new to Visual Studio Application Development. I'm mostly a DB guy. I used Visual Studio as a Report Designer, not much of an .Net guy though I can understand it. I am now asked to create a .net application and I'm trying to create a "Hello World" starter app. I opened my Visual Studio, click File-New Project and all I see is Business Intelligence Projects and Other Project Types. My step-by-step guide says choose Visual Basic, Windows Forms Application. But I can't see it as an option.

I recently loaded my copy of MS Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition, with Visual Basic, on to my new laptop, one with a Windows 7 operating system. This version of Visual Studio had been on my other laptop, a Windows Vista machine. I have been working on a game development program for a few days now. And have come to a halt on one part, and thats adding a 3D space in the program. The idea is that I have certain values stored in textboxes/listboxes and thus can I store the information in a spread sheet. And if I change the value in the spreadsheet can it also change the value in the application? I had one idea which was to make both store data in a txt file and read from that, but I'm not quite sure how to do that either.

the problem is that I want to (SQL) select from a table in an Oracle database, and show the results of the query in the VB application, in a Excel like manner (rows, columns, selectable, etc.). I was wondering if I could somehow binary coding, if not all coding of a file.In Visual Basic 2008, I use this method:I click a button on a form, I browse the file, I select itand then I click open and it fills a RichTextBox with 1 and 0's in binary form..
