Unable To Find Assembly A_class, Version 2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null?

Mar 13, 2012

I am trying to upgrade a project from VS2005. It is a VB.NET project B that depends on a C# project that references a C++ dll, A.dll. I am getting an error saying 'Unable to find assembly A_class, Version 2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'. The targeted platform of the C++ project is 4.0 and since that project depends on others, I can't downgrade it. But I did set the platform for the VB.NET project to 4.0. What else does the Version 2.0.0.0 refer to ? I have tried to create a brand-new project and added the vb forms into it after I have built it successfully. The C++ dll is in the output directory, if the VB project doesn't find it there, it doesn't get to this point. During build. I either get no error (but forms don't load) or I get 2 errors (one for each form):

Culture Name 'neutral' Is Not Supported

Aug 19, 2009

I have very simple project in VS 2005 (close to hello world). This project is referencing few other DLLs that I have built on the side using command line scripts. These DLLs are fine and working perfectly. None of these DLLs are defining a specific 'Locale', so they default to locale = 'null', and everyone seems to be pretty happy with that. However, one of these DLLs, say XYZ.dll, must link/reference a third party DLL which defines locale= 'Neutral'. I can see that quite clearly with ildasm:[code]If I remove the third-party dll reference from my XYZ DLL (removing some code then not linking against it), I can compile my basic VS project without any problem. The problem is that I do need to link against this third-party DLL and would like to use Visual Studio.Does anyone know about this "Culture name not supported" error?

An Unhandled Exception Of Type 'System.StackOverflowException' Occurred In Mscorlib.dll?

Apr 1, 2009

I am Using Visual Studio 2008 Express edition (.NET Framework 3.5) ... I got this Error when Using A recursive Call To a Function .. I have 3 Background Workers Which Select Data From Database With Status =0 , Take The file Name And File Path Asssosiated With That record, and Then Copy it to other place and on successful completion update the status to 2 otherwise to 3 . and again searech for other record having Status 0 and so on ..

i made a method for selection of record from database every worker call this function . Now I have a check when dataset is filled i checked is there any row ? if yes then it do the rest of work otherwise agin call it self to search for the record...ECURSION.. In Case of records with status zero , It works Fine But in Case of no records Which have status zero it recursively calls itself For approx 1.5 mints and then throws The Exception That " System.StackOverflowException occured in mscorlib.dll at line "DataAdapter.Fill(Dataset,Table)" . I have no Idea what to do with this ..

Eventhough I have Encloesd It in Try...Catch Blocks but It didnt Cath It .. I serached The Internet and msdn social help for it and i found that it occurs most with infiniteloop or Infinite Recursive calls. i know it is due to my recursive call to the SelectData Function But i have no option without it?And One thing more that this project i mean the exe of this project is concurrently runs with another project Which add data to the databse about Filename Filepath and status =0 for Fresh entry..

Need To Load Latest Version Of Specific Assembly

Nov 10, 2010

I have this situation where LoadWithPartialName appears to be the only good alternative, although it is marked as Obsolete. I work in a very tight dev environment with versioning and deployment policies that cannot be easily changed or bypassed. Let's say there's a .NET executable that I have no control on (from another division). Let's call this the client AppA application. AppA's version is 10.11.12.x. Application AppA has a direct reference to one of our class library that provides some service to the caller (returns some information).

Let's call it SvcB and the version is also 10.11.12.x. Now, AppA's division does not need to update their system as often as we do, so AppA's version will stay 10.11.12.x for some time, probably until we decide to change the format of the class that is exchanged between us. Our division needs to change the logic behind the service SvcB more often and the version must change with every major deployement.

So let's say we change the logic and we deploy a new version of SvcB, 11.02.11.x. AppA will still reference the old version, so the logic being used is now incorrect. We are thinking of creating a new "facade" to our service. Let's call it SvcFrontB. SvcFrontB's version will stay the same, in sync with the AppA's own version. Now I need SvcFrontB to load the most recent version of SvcB through reflection. This way, I am sure the latest logic is always used. How do I achieve that without using LoadWithPartialName ?

"System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could Not Load File Or Assembly" When The Assembly Does In Fact Exist?

Oct 8, 2009

One of them is giving us trouble in only 1 spot out of the 4 spots we use it at:The trouble spot is a windows form project that uses reflection to dynamically load some DLLs that run long running processes. One of these long running processes is an agent that relies on one of our vender DLLsWe're getting the missing assembly exception at the point where we first enter a function that references the library. I already checked the silly things such as if we had forgotten to move a reference from the old version to the new version, but that's not the case. I also checked the bin directory of the project and the assembly is there.

How they relate and differ from each? What are the best practices for version control? Is there a primer about publish online? Or a good book?

And is it possible to make ClickOnce and a msi in one solution of VS 2008? If so, is there any conflict or pitfall?

BTW I am using VB if that makes any difference.
