Could Not Load File Or Assembly ' Interop.DTS,version=2.0.0.0,cultral,publickeytoken=null' Or One Of Its Dependencies
Jun 27, 2009
I have problem when i use DTS package in my Application which I use VB.net .when i install the Application in the client and run it the are message appear :" could not load file or assembly ' interop.DTS,version=2.0.0.0,cultral,publickeytoken=null'or one of its dependencies . the system cannot find the file specified " In my PC run successfuly but in the client the previous?
I am trying to upgrade a project from VS2005. It is a VB.NET project B that depends on a C# project that references a C++ dll, A.dll. I am getting an error saying 'Unable to find assembly A_class, Version 2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'. The targeted platform of the C++ project is 4.0 and since that project depends on others, I can't downgrade it. But I did set the platform for the VB.NET project to 4.0. What else does the Version 2.0.0.0 refer to ? I have tried to create a brand-new project and added the vb forms into it after I have built it successfully. The C++ dll is in the output directory, if the VB project doesn't find it there, it doesn't get to this point. During build. I either get no error (but forms don't load) or I get 2 errors (one for each form):
I am working on an application which compiles fine on machine that is Win 7 and 64 bit CPU. But when copy and I run the exe file on similar machine (Win 7 64bit) I get error message: Error: Could not load file or assembly 'Interop.ActiveDs.Version=1.0.0.0,... I have added ActiveDS Type Library 1.0 C:WindowsSysWow64activedstlb as a reference in the project file.
I am usig .Net 2005. My code works fine on localhost but gives below error : Could not load file or assembly 'MySql.Data, Version=5.0.9.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=c5687fc88969c44d' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF. To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLMSoftwareMicrosoftFusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1. Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging. To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLMSoftwareMicrosoftFusion!EnableLog].
I recently added hsProgressbar.dll to my Program, it worked fine, but then I decided to remove it from my Computer and also remove it from the references...however..the Warning is still there? How can I completely remove it, so that I don't get the error anymore?
when I start up my lap top I get the message "Could not load file or assembly 'sorttbls.nlp' or one of its dependencies". I use sage act 2008 crm system and it seems to have stopped this working completely. It has also caused windows media player manager to frequently stop working.
When ever I finish simple programs no matter what it is and i click to debug it it comes up"Error while trying to run project:could not load file or assembly"project name" or one of its dependencies.the module was expected to contain an assembly manifest"
Error while trying to run project: Could not load file or assembly 'WindowsApplication1' or one of its dependencies. The module was expected ro contain an assembly manifest.
I crate program with Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition. And it works about 2 days. Then it get error:
--------------------------- Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition ---------------------------
Error while trying to run project: Could not load file or assembly 'airGreenClient (aGC)' or one of its dependencies. The module was expected to contain an assembly manifest.
I get that error when I try to run my Project, it was working fine ago, it just stopped working all of a sudden Error while trying to run project: Could not load file or assembly 'Project1' or one of its dependencies. The module was expected to contain an assembly manifest.
I cannot figure out how to get past this error. I have 1) Given the user "everyone" access to the entire directory that this dll is contained in 2) Deleted the dll and rebuilt the project 3) Deleted the Temporary ASP.NET files in the Windows Directory 4) Restarted IIS 5) Tried to change to a different user in IIS security including trying ASPNET. we are not using windows authentication. 6) Even copied that dll from other machines.
Here's the error. I have no clue at this point if it's code missing inside it or something else wrong with it or my setup. Other people on my team are using this dll ok. Could not load file or assembly 'Anthem' or one of its dependencies. Access is denied.

it works on 32bit and framework 4 - error: could not load file or assembly Interop.XXXX.dll Steps to reproduce:Create a new VB.Net winform project on a 64 bit system with framework 4 drop windows media player control on form. builds and runs fine. project references has two interops to temporary directory under obj folder copy if necessary the two interops to the build output path and delete the old project references and add new ones pointing to the interops in the output path build and run, everything is fine.ste the target frameowrk to 3.5 and repeat the whole process. the build fails. This is just a simple example of what I am seeing on a much mor complex project. It happens with all interops, not just WMP.
I use:Imports Microsoft.Office.Interop as well as a Reference from the "COM" tab called "Microsoft Excel 11.0 Object Library"
I built my program then copied the .exe from the inDebug folder to a location on my company's server. I then double clicked the .exe and it ran as I expected it would. My boss then tried (from another computer) and he gets this error:See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.
I created one windows application in visual studio 2008 (.net 3.5) and successfully created setup application also. It working fine. But in the customer system the application throws the title error. I got from another thread as add 'stdole.dll' in the setup application. But that answer related to
I made an app that connects to a mysql database to update a table. It works fine from my test machine, but if i deploy the app to another computer I get error: Unhandled Exception: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'MySql.Data, Version=6.3.6.0 I'm going through google to find a solution, but nothing has stood out yet, just wondered if anyone has encountered this before and knows of a quick fix.
I have Visual Studio 2010 and a VB Project that had a reference to Microsoft.Interop.Excel 12.0. Well recently I changed the reference version to 14.0. That was actually a mistake and now I need to bump it back down to version 12.0. However I get this error in my project now...
Project 'MyProject' requires a reference to version '14.0.0.0' of assembly 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel', but references version '12.0.0.0' of assembly 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel'.
I tried removing references and adding the com object to, but no avail.
I am getting the following error when i try to publish my application with the checkbox for ClickOnce Security On. Could not find file 'Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls, Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=*, PublicKeyToken=6595b64144ccf1df, ProcessorArchitecture=*, _ Type=win32'. [projectname ]
I have this situation where LoadWithPartialName appears to be the only good alternative, although it is marked as Obsolete. I work in a very tight dev environment with versioning and deployment policies that cannot be easily changed or bypassed. Let's say there's a .NET executable that I have no control on (from another division). Let's call this the client AppA application. AppA's version is 10.11.12.x. Application AppA has a direct reference to one of our class library that provides some service to the caller (returns some information).
Let's call it SvcB and the version is also 10.11.12.x. Now, AppA's division does not need to update their system as often as we do, so AppA's version will stay 10.11.12.x for some time, probably until we decide to change the format of the class that is exchanged between us. Our division needs to change the logic behind the service SvcB more often and the version must change with every major deployement.
So let's say we change the logic and we deploy a new version of SvcB, 11.02.11.x. AppA will still reference the old version, so the logic being used is now incorrect. We are thinking of creating a new "facade" to our service. Let's call it SvcFrontB. SvcFrontB's version will stay the same, in sync with the AppA's own version. Now I need SvcFrontB to load the most recent version of SvcB through reflection. This way, I am sure the latest logic is always used. How do I achieve that without using LoadWithPartialName ?
Is it possible to load a referenced assembly only if the .NET Framework version is lesser than a specific number? I'm using a selfmade LINQ library on .NET 2.0, but if the framework is 3.5+, it should use the M$ LINQ library, and ignore the selfmade one. Here's my library: [URL]
I want my application to do something special :D.. jks
I just want it to compare assembly version to the file version something like this (btw i also want it if it is the same i want it to enable a button):
Private Sub StartSplash_Load(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load If Assembly Version = File Version Then
[Code].....
so how do i detect Assembly & File version numbers?
I have a simple application, that was working just fine then all of the sudden I open the file and the design pages will not show up and I get the following warnings:

I have a setup project in my solution. There are interop dependencies on msADOX and oledb32. On my Vista build machine these dependencies don't show up in the "Detected Dependencies" list (only the two interop assemblies), and my solution builds just fine.
On the production build machine (XP), the build fails with two errors: ERROR: 'oledb32.dll' should be excluded because its source file 'C:Program FilesCommon Filessystemole dboledb32.dll' is under Windows System File Protection.
One of them is giving us trouble in only 1 spot out of the 4 spots we use it at:The trouble spot is a windows form project that uses reflection to dynamically load some DLLs that run long running processes. One of these long running processes is an agent that relies on one of our vender DLLsWe're getting the missing assembly exception at the point where we first enter a function that references the library. I already checked the silly things such as if we had forgotten to move a reference from the old version to the new version, but that's not the case. I also checked the bin directory of the project and the assembly is there.
So in Visual Studio, you can't have two projects X and Y such that X references Y and Y references X.In general, I can totally understand how having a circular dependency can be problematic, for a variety of reasons. But is it really not possible to compile two projects that are interdependent in this way? It seems to me that it must be possible, since (in my mind -- maybe I'm completely off-base about this) having two mutually dependent assemblies is really not so different from having two mutually dependent classes -- a case which is legal and can be compiled.
It would make sense to me if you said, "two assemblies cannot depend on each other because the compiler could not compile one before the other"; except that it seems you could make the same argument for two classes within the same assembly, and clearly the compiler can deal with this scenario just fine.
Basically the reason I'm asking is not that I have some desperate desire to do this thing that I know is generally ill-advised anyway. Specifically I'm wondering because it would be nice if I could have two projects -- say, MyProjectCS and MyProjectVB -- that existed basically as two mutually dependent parts of a single unit, and were only separate because certain parts were written in C# and other parts were written in VB.NET.
Is it possible to enable this behavior (in Visual Studio, or elsewhere, for that matter)? If it's not possible within any IDE, it it at least theoretically possible, or could mutually dependent assemblies not possibly exist? If it's not even theoretically possible, why not? In other words, how are mutually dependent assemblies different from mutually dependent code within a single assembly?
I can create a brand new empty console app in Visual Studio 2008 and add a reference to c:myfilesCrystalDecisions.Enterprise.Framework.dll and verything works just fine.If I do the same thing with the same file in Visual Studio 2010 (after changing my targeted framework to 3.5), I get the error that "CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.Framework.dll or one of its dependencies, requires a later version of the .NET Framework than the one specified in the project." In Visual Studio 2010 it won't work unless I change my targeted framework to 4.0. How is it possible that a DLL could be incompatible with version 3.5 of the framework in VS2010, but compatible in VS 2008?
Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:Windowssystem32Rule.dll'. The system cannot find the file specified.
The problem is that the same exe works in my development environment but not on productive server. The program is a tool that should run as a Scheduled Task on Windows Server 2008. It consists of an exe, one so called Database.dll and the Rule.dll. The exe should load the Rule.dll dynamically in codebehind but it fails with the above error only when started from Task Scheduler. Why is it looking in System32 folder and not in the Application folder? Is it an UAC-issue?

I am getting the following error message below and don't know why. I've even rebooted my machine and it still won't work.
