I have a table from a database and i need to display the total number of record and display it in a label.i already have binding navigator but i will not use to display the total number of record in that table. and i will also make that binding navigator invisible.

It will always get the first row of data regardless of which row I put in the handphone number which I'm comparing to. I used a msgbox(n) to see the number of rows in the database but it displays only one where I have two rows in my database. The for loop is the one which will detect the number of maxrows and also retrieve out the corresponding details. But apparently this is not the appropriate way.

i need some help here, i want a result that shown a total number from student who passed some subjects. Let say there are 8 student who got A in subject chemistry, then the output should display result something like " there are 8 students who got A in chemistry". And also is it possible to combined the result, for example i want the output something like "there are "X" students who got A in chemistry and physics". where "X" is variable (number). it should trigger when winform is loaded. im using bindingsource.filter, but failed. because using bindingsource.filter need the input from user then it produce the output. whereas i want the result shown when the winform is loaded. i have done all that i can do, however, i wish to display in a label something similar to this "5/10 (5th record of a total of 10)" meaning the 5th record in the array out of a total of 10 records. i have already done the code to display the total amount of items in the array, that part was simple, but i can't get my head around trying to code something that will display the record that i am currently viewing in the text boxes.

This works fine except for one thing! after I click OK to the msgbox prompt, the record highlights normally and I click on the next record, and I get an Argument out of range exception error message, where I expected to just get another message with the next record number.
The pay rates for the project are:
a. Level 1 - $10.00
b. Level 2 - $12.00
c. Level 3 - $14.00
d. Level 4 - $16.00
e. Benefit Deduction Rate - 0.10
f. Overtime Factor - 1.5
For ease of program maintenance, all of the above rates and factors must be stored in module level constants. All references to pay rates in the program must refer to the module level constants.
When the Calculate button is clicked:
a. The value in the Hours text box must be validated to insure that it is numeric value greater than zero.
1. If the value is not valid, a message box must appear as shown below and the user must be offered the option to continue processing or quit the program.
2. If the user chooses to continue processing, the focus must be set to the Hours text box.
3. If the user chooses to quit, the program must close immediately.
b. If the value is valid, the program must calculate and display the total pay in the Total Pay label.
1. The pay rate is determined by which Job Grade radio button is checked.
2. For hours less than or equal to 40, the total pay is the hours times the pay rate.
3. For hours greater than 40, the total pay is 40 hours times the pay rate plus the hours in excess of 40 hours times the pay rate times the Overtime Factor.
4. If the Full Time radio button is selected, the total pay must be reduced by the Benefit Deduction Rate.
5. The value displayed in the Total Pay label must be formatted with a dollar sign and with two decimal
places.
6. The focus must be set to the Hours text box.

I am leaning VB and have created a basic inventory app for work that consist of 4 tables, CurrentInventory, Surplus, Staff and Category. Each of these tables have a corresponding form. My question is with the CurrentInventory and Surplus form/tables. I want a button on the CurrentInventory Form that when clicked the current record would be transferred to the Surplus table and deleted from the CurrentInventory table.I am assuming that I could somehow use the INSERT command to copy the current record to the surplus table but I am not sure how to accomplish this.

My query is i want to save record from an excel sheet to my Database Table.
But i dont want to insert the Excel sheet as a whole rather i want to insert the record in my database table Row wise.Inserting the records is not the only thing but my major issue is i want to check and compare the Primary Key column of my Table with the Column in my Excel.
Suppose Table1 is my Sql Database Table,and RegistrationNo is the Primary Key Column.Similarly there is also a column of Registration Number in my Excel Sheet.
Now before inserting each record the RegistrationNo column should be compared.If the a registrationNo in the excel sheet say RegistrationNo 112 is already present in the table then it should not Insert the record and if its not present then it should insert.
Also the other issue is the number of columns in my Database table are more than the number of columns in my excel Sheet.So the columns that are not present in the excel sheet should be set to NULL while inserting the record in the Table.
