Display Array Item / Record Number In Label?

I am attempting to create a program that opens a file and reads the contents to then display them in a set of four text boxes (e.g. id, firstName, lastName, avg.Salary). it stores the data in an array.
i have done all that i can do, however, i wish to display in a label something similar to this "5/10 (5th record of a total of 10)" meaning the 5th record in the array out of a total of 10 records. i have already done the code to display the total amount of items in the array, that part was simple, but i can't get my head around trying to code something that will display the record that i am currently viewing in the text boxes.
i have a "view previous record" and a "view next record" button that will go through to the next or previous record, in doing so will change the "5/10" records to the next appropriate number, e.g. "5/10" goes to "4/10" if the previous button is pressed (in doing so, obviously the records that are shown in the text boxes will change to the next or previous record)[code]...

the disply color buttons click even procedure shold display the color of the item whose item number is entered. all item numbers contail eactly five characters(12b12). my problem is i can not get it to disply a color in the lblcolor control. it displays the item number.

I have a form to add new records with label at the top to show the ID (number of row suppose to be newly as soon as save/update button is press). Eg: There had been 20 rows, ID counts to 20. The next row should be 20+1, and i want it to be appeared in the lblIDnumber.

I put this mathematical formula in VB 2008 Express Form and I have the result show in TextBox and every thing is good so far and my question is if I have a table of numbers for example if the answer in the TextBox is 0.00098 and my table show :
0.0001 to 0.00100 = 7
0.00101 to 0.002 = 8
0.00201 to 0.003 = 9
Etc
I need the number 7 to be displayed in label 1 so how can I do that?

I want to display the index number of the selected record in a listview box as it is clicked by the user. I can do it with multiselect set to false and the following call.

This works fine except for one thing! after I click OK to the msgbox prompt, the record highlights normally and I click on the next record, and I get an Argument out of range exception error message, where I expected to just get another message with the next record number.

I trying to display in a label the appropriate number of dashes based on the number of letters in a word that the first player entered.
Basically, when you click play, the first person enters a word, then the second player guesses what it is. That person has 2x #ofletters of incorrect tries. I just need to figure out how to get the dashes to display based on # of letters and not a preset one of 5 dashes. The original program accepts only 5-letter word so that line of code is Me.lblWord.Text = "-----". I have modified it so the user can enter any # of chars. I tried making the above line with a lot of dashes so it but the leftover dashes will stay there and the game won't end. Here is what i have right now for my play button:

I need to assign an Age to the elements in an array. If a value in this array remained the same in the same position in the array then multiply by a big factor and send to the bottom of the array.

I have a list of names in a database and what i want is to get all of these names and display them in a label or a text box to the user on the website. I have tried to do this using a for loop but it is always overwriting the label each time. I have a list of 10 different names in the database and what it is doing is putting the first name in the label and then overwriting this with the second name and so on until it reaches the last name. I think i need to store each of the names from the database into an array or an arrayList and then make the label display all of the contents from the array or arrayList. The for loop i have used for this is:

I'm using Streamwriter/Streamreader for the first time in this project and keep getting an "Argument out of Range Exception was unhandled" error.It says "length cannot be less than zero. Parameter name: length."This happens at "dblYearly Income." Also, how do I find out the number of occurrences of an item in an array? For instance, I have a Race combobox and need to find out how many occurrences there are for each race.Also, is there a way to count the number of occurrences of an array itself, I guess the upper index value? My objective is to find the lowest test score in the array and display it in the associated label using a DoLoop. However, I don't think I was to use the ForNext stmt.Could I have used the DoLoop without the ForNext? ' displays the lowest test score stored in an array

Basically, I'm not sure if I'm thinking along the correct lines when trying to break this down. The program is supposed to display the question "How much is _ x _?" with _ being a randomly generated number between 0-9 which I have in a label. The student inputs the answer and clicks the "Answer" button. If he gets it right, the label below outputs "Very Good!" and automatically puts a new question in the above label. If the student gets it incorrect, the output is "No, Please try again." and the student keeps trying until the question is answered correctly.
My method of thinking on this is that the random.object generator is input first so the question with the numbers are output in the first label. Then, under the Sub answer.button, enter the statements that will either check and refer to the above statements to get a new question or have the student try again until it's answered correctly. One of the other criteria for this is that I have to use a function for the calculation. Would the function statement, because it has to return a value, go before the answer.button code or after?

Using Access 2003 and VB code, I have created a form with a number of labels. The labels will display an employee's names. I have named the labels name1, name2, name3...etc. Using an ADO data set and DCount I have determined the number of names in an Access table (the number of names can vary). What I want to do is for each record in succession to pick the first name and surname from the data set , combine them into a full name (this part has been successful), and then set the full name into the label caption in succession. Example: full name 1 into name1, full name 2 into name2, full name 3 into name3... until all names appear as labels on the form.
I created a counter to and a variable to increment the label number but when I address the caption property of the variable containing the new label (e.g. name1, name2..etc.) it throws an errer at runtime. Here is the code:

I am handling many of the BindingNavigator tasks (MoveFirst, MoveNext, etc.)in code to ensure that I always ask the User to save his changes.
The one area I am have a problem is PositionItem. I would like to sense that the User has changed the Record Number in the BindingNavigatorPositionItem, handle my record Update, and move to the Record Number the User entered I have looked all over and have not found any way to do this.

I would like to display a record from my database and also the picture for that record, in a .rdlc report in vb .net 2008. i have succeded in displaying the record but just can't get the picture to show. I have to create a list of 25 randomly generated 0s and 1s in a list box?Next I have to count the number of 0s and put in one label box and number of 1s in another label box.
txtTotalMem.Text = lstInfo.Items.Count
but it counts the overall amount. I need just one type. I tried using the lstRandom.SelectedItem method but you never select the item as it is just random generated numbers. The (relevant) code so far is
