How to i display how many records that i have in a label on my main form for example if i had 3 table called Cusotmers, Orders, Products
How do i get it to show the total amount of each table on label 1 label 2 label 3?
how to count the lines in textbox1.text (with multiplelines). I don't need to count each character. I only need to count each line from top to bottom in textbox1.text (multiplelines) and I will use Label1 to display the numbers.
example:
1-pauljaones
2-tommyperrry
3-marktoms
4-Jonessmith
5-paulwhite
Obviously this is 5 lines and that's what I need to count.
Is there a way to keep a counter inside a "for each" and display a count by a lable on a app?
View 14 RepliesI am trying to make a simple form that will display a count when the users clicks a button. I want the count to be readable as the program loops the math. So as it adds 1 + 1, 1 + 2, 1 + 3, ect... I want each loop to display in the label. Below is the basic code I came up with, but I can not figure out how put a delay of something like 100 milliseconds in the loop. The idea is for the slower version of the basic count console app you learn in school and I basically need to slowdown the math and display the sum as the loop loops.

I am currently building a search page, which includes a textbox and two drop-down lists, a search button, and a datagrid. If results are found and displayed, I would like a label to display:
(e.g.) "24 results found for 'blue sky clouds' "
...where the integer represents the results count, and the keywords and/or drop-down list selections are included in the string.If no results are found I would like the label to display:(e.g.) "No results were found that match your selection. I have a form to add new records with label at the top to show the ID (number of row suppose to be newly as soon as save/update button is press). Eg: There had been 20 rows, ID counts to 20. The next row should be 20+1, and i want it to be appeared in the lblIDnumber.

I am attempting to create a program that opens a file and reads the contents to then display them in a set of four text boxes (e.g. id, firstName, lastName, avg.Salary). it stores the data in an array.
i have done all that i can do, however, i wish to display in a label something similar to this "5/10 (5th record of a total of 10)" meaning the 5th record in the array out of a total of 10 records. i have already done the code to display the total amount of items in the array, that part was simple, but i can't get my head around trying to code something that will display the record that i am currently viewing in the text boxes.
i have a "view previous record" and a "view next record" button that will go through to the next or previous record, in doing so will change the "5/10" records to the next appropriate number, e.g. "5/10" goes to "4/10" if the previous button is pressed (in doing so, obviously the records that are shown in the text boxes will change to the next or previous record)[code]...
How can I keep a label on my form with the current count of the selected rows. My DGV has a checkbox (unbound) and 3 other columns. When the user clicks on the row I want the checkbox to either be checked or unchecked depending on its status and update a label the is below the DGV to show how many rows are checked. View 2 RepliesI am using a label inside my loop to get a count on the number of records processed by the loop. during testing of the program I noticed that if I load a smaller Table( 1000 records) my label stops refreshing after about 110 and my mouse turns to an hour glass. The program finishes and the label returns the correct count when complete If I load a larger table (10,000 records) it works all the way through???

I have records in a database. Each record has a Picture path in it eg. "C:\Pics\Image1.jpg". I would like to display a record from my database and also the picture for that record, in a .rdlc report in vb .net 2008. i have succeded in displaying the record but just can't get the picture to show. But that makes the SQL query crash. It doesnt seem as though i am about to put anything related to "count" in my query or it will crash so is there any other way i can see how many records it returns other than that?
