am trying to add a favourites option to my web browser, but I am unsure how to add them.I'm just looking for a simple option which will display the favourites on a single button click, and then be able to add the current page to the favourites menu.

Also i want the listbox to show the Site Title, like so it just shows the title of that website. But then i wouldn't know how to navigate to that website if just the title is in the listbox How would i do this?
View 6 RepliesI am developing with a friend a webbrowser just for fun and to learn more..But we are stuck on how to do favourites and historial.Because we had put tabcontrol and when i tried saving the page on a stringcollection called favlist it gives me an error.It is the same with history. What i want to do it save favourites and history on a text file so then when i open the browser again you have them there.

What i want: i want to know where i can find a noob friendly detailed guide on how to add a history box/favourites box and an options windows. so the user browsing my webbrowser can check the history just like IE's or Firefox's. same with the favourites.. and with the options they can clear all their cookies and history, aswell as changing the homepage i know the fucntion to change the homepage via a menu strip so yehh..

I have written a dynamic database driven, object oriented website with an administration frontend etc etc. I would like to add a feature where customers can save items as "favourites", without having to create an account and login, to come back to them later, but I dont know how exactly to go about doing this... I see three options:
Log favourites based on IP address and then change these to be logged against an account if the customer then creates an account;
Force customers to create an account to be able to use this functionality;
Log favourites based on IP address but give users the option to save their favourites under a name they specify.
The problem with option 1 is that I dont know much about IP addresses - my Dad thinks they are unique, but I know people have had problems with systems like this.
The problem with 1 and 2 is that accounts have not been opened up to customers yet - only administrators can log in at the moment. It should be easy to alter this (no more than a morning or afternoons work) but I would also have to implement usergroups too.
The problem with option 3 is that if user A saves a favourites list called "My Favourites", and then user B tries to save a list under this name and it is refused, user B will then be able to access the list saved by user A because they now know it already exists. A solution to this is to password protect lists, but to go to all this effort I may as well implement option 2.
Im using VB2005 express and the app im creating uses the web browser control.Basically I want to know if its possible to make the web browser control connect through a different ip address and port from your default web browser.

I want it to open in my browser, not Internet Explorer.I have read everything I have found on this subject, but it is all for normal web browsers. convert the code to be used in a browser with tabcontrol? I tried, and it works with one that DOESN'T use it, but I want to use it with my browser with tabcontrol. And, I have read ALL of the ones previously given to other people.
I've just finished making a web browser suited for my personal use, but when I click on a new link or something it opens a new window in Internet Explorer - which gets extremely anoying.. Is there a way to make all links open up in a custom browser?

I coded a web browser over the course of a year called Nova - very advanced with tabbed browsing, bookmarks, homepage, history, etc etc etc etc. I could go on all day about how advanced it is. But.. there is one flaw. You cannot make it the default browser; I don't know the code!I already know the CommandLineArgs stuff so it actually opens the HTML file rather than just opening the program; in fact, I already can make files open with Nova completely. It's just the other stuff - you know, when a website is to be opened from a help file or something, it opens with Nova, Windows recognises it as the default browser, stuff like that.

The first being that I have a textbox for my address bar and I want it to do a few things, I want it to expand when i set my browser to fullscreen , be able to press enter when typing in it and it will take me to that webpage and for it to show recent history... (i know it seems like a ton of expectations mainly i would like the first 2 the third is not as important) So i dont know how to do any of that...
I also would like to know how to go about making new tabs on demand and not have a bunch of tabs just sitting there...

I have been searching a lot online but couldn't find a solution for my problem. I want it to refresh every certain interval of time without this message to display. Now Ican't minimize my program because I'm putting an automatic Sendkeys.send("{Enter}") after the refresh to get rid of that message by clicking on "Retry".And If I minimize it the Enter will be executed on the active Window, which might be any other Window.

I am new to vb 2008, but I know how to automate some html elements. I know how to make the webbrowser1.navigate via textbox1.text with multiple lines, however I want my webbrowser to navigate to each url every 1-1.5 seconds once button1 is clicked.
