As part of a larger application, I need to IMPORT (not link) a FoxPro 2.6 DBF into a Access DB.I toyed with using a Access MODULE and in the module, using the docmd.TransferDatabase method.I have looked for days at different samples and I cannot seem to find the answer. This application is intended to be distributed with NO ASSURANCE the user will have the FoxPro OLE driver installed. Knowing that the ODBC driver will most likely be installed as part of MDAC, it is pretty safe to use the ODBC driver that is already installed - Visual FoxPro Tables

I'm using the following code to import data from a text file into an existing Access table:
Code:
Imports System.Data.OleDb
Public Class Carrega_CSV
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
[Code]....
The first time i ran the code, it caused no error but no records where loaded into the table. The second time it causes the OleDbException "Table 'TEMP' already exists." The text file is comma delimited and it has exactly the same number of columns of the TEMP table.

I am using ms-access 2002. I have to export the data of a ms-access table in Fixed Width format. To accomplish this I am using DoCmd.TransferText method.
DoCmd.TransferText acExportFixed, "schema.ini", "table_ABC", "C: estingTestData.txt"
But I am getting error message: "Run time error-3625 The text file specification 'schema.ini' does not exist. You cannot import, export, or link using the specification."
Here schema.ini is at same location as of text file. i.e. "C: esting"
I tried with
DoCmd.TransferText acExportFixed, "C: estingschema.ini", "table_ABC", C: estingTestData.txt"
but no success.
For delimited format it is working fine
DoCmd.TransferText acExportDelim, "", "VDMMEMBS", "C: estingTestData.txt"
I have gone through the link [URL]
Error message is same as of me but example shown is related to import of txt file.

i have a series of CSV files that are posted to a specific web folder that I can specify in network places. Each file has same structure, lots of fields, and have consistent name schema "prefix-mm-dd-yyyy.csv". i need to use VB to process all these files, either individually or by consolidating into one file and appending to an existing table. i also need to somehow add a "download date" field to the process so i can show when the file(s) were appended. then i need to verify that it worked ok so i can then, still within VB, move the files out of the folder, such only the CSV files that have yet to be imported/appended are in the folder (so I don't have to guess about which files I have already uploaded and processed.i can figure out how to make a DO UNTIL loop, but i can't get the import statement right... nor can i figure out how to verify that the import happened in order to move (or remove) the source files.

Zip code: "99999-0000" or "Phone Number: "(999)000-0000" or "(000)000-0000" and the like So far nothing has worked. I can get my date columns formatted correctly, but not these. Can any one give me some examples that work?

I need to take a bill of material file from a customer in xml format and import it into our system. The problem I'm running into is that the terms they use to describe the types of material may vary. So, for example, if they are specifying a piece of threaded rod, they may call it "THREADED ROD", "THREADEDROD", "THRD ROD", "THRD'D ROD" or some other variation. Another example might be rectangular tubing. They might call it "RECTANGULAR TUBING", "RECT TUBING", "RECT TUBE", etc. There will be many types of material besides these two that I need to catch. Once the program determines what the material is it then branches to the appropriate subroutine to do further parsing. I was trying to think of a way to use regex or the "Like" or "Contains" operators to do this. Here is one way I thought of using "Select ... Case" but it isn't very flexible & will only catch hard-coded terms:
Select Case material
Case "THREADED ROD", "THRD ROD" 'etc...
Case "RECTANGULAR TUBE", "RECT TUBE", "RECT TUBING" 'etc...
End Select
