I want to use VB2005 to export tblCustomer from One.mdb to Two.mdb, and replace the existing tblCustomer in Two.mdb, during run time. I basically want to simulate the export function that is available in MS Access (which can export one table from one Access database to another) with VB2005 during run time. I can think of a way by querying the table to a dataset and then delete everything on the other database before filling the table in that database with the dataset. However, there should be something simpler and faster than that, shouldn't it? Any idea?

Here is an example of the code I use to load some data just so you can get a feel of what I'm currently doing. View 2 Repliesbefore re-inventing the wheel, i want to ask you how i can do this best: I have a VB.Net application that uses a database connection to MS SQL Server 2005 (express version). There are users that input data with the application into the database lets say once to 2x an hour to once a minute. I want to do backups like this: Once a day or once a week (in the evening) a full backup, and whenever the program/user is idle for lets say 10 Minutes, i want to do an incremental backup (so that it does not take so long until he can work on after the backup).
There are no big security issues, just copying the backup data files to a network share / a different computer or server would be fine. i guess the average db size may be 300MB, but the daily increments about 1MB.

I am getting a complex XML sheet which I intend to upload in SQL server table. I do not know how to do it? I am using visual basic.net 2008 and sql server 2008 R2. The XML file shown below has seven days weather forecast. I do not need some of information from this file like PRECIPITAION information.
I am not sure what is the procedure to parse XML and import it in SQL table.

I am asked to write a front end program in VB 2005 (that will run in client computers which running on Win XP) to access an existing MySQL database running in Linux. It is not my preferred choice, but the user have the database and server working just as he wants it, and do not wish to change, at the same time I do not wish to change programming language. Is that even possible? Can we actually write VB 2005 programs that will run in client computers complete with NET framework 2.0 to access a Linux operating database?

What I need to do is import an excel named range into a sql table using vb.net. I have been able to import the range from excel to access but not to sql server. I used the many examples that are on the web using OLEDB for the connection part and ODBC for the command. However I continually get the cannot find and installable ISAM. I have excel 2003 and Excel 2007 on the box.
I know this can be done using SQL Server SSIS package, which I have used before, however you have to install certian SQL Server features on the box that is running the application for this to work. I want my application to be able to run on any box that it is installed on without the need for the SQL Server features to be installed.

The first time i ran the code, it caused no error but no records where loaded into the table. The second time it causes the OleDbException "Table 'TEMP' already exists." The text file is comma delimited and it has exactly the same number of columns of the TEMP table.
