I have a text file containing ten pieces of information (5 prices and 5 descriptions) I want to load the information from the text file in to the text boxes, so that it can be viewed and edited if required.
I've declared the filename, and various variables, but I'm not sure how to get the info from the file to my form?

I want to export data from a DataGridView to a CSV/text file. I then also want to be able to load that same CSV/text file and populate that same DataGridView at a later point in time. So I'm in the final stages of finishing a program I've been working on for nearly a year now, and this is basically my final hurdle. The Save dialogue is working beautifully, with 'flags' in order to switch it over from the regular input into text boxes to the Listbox input protocol.
However, I'm having a *** of a time getting it to take lines from the text file and put them in the proper text box. Here is an example file:

So with the sample file I provided above, in the textbox named callNameText would appear "SHOWNAME", and so on and so forth. With this build, I get a NullReferenceException on the "Me.Controls(strboxNames(i)).Text() = strAllText(ati)" line.

This involves the customer giving the employee information such as name, address, postcode etc and the employee inputting that information into text boxes and combo boxes that are in the application.
What I would like to be able to do is after the customers information is given over the phone, I need to be able to send that information to a database which will probably most likely be done by button click. In this case, I'm using Microsoft Access. I'm also hoping that I can do this within Visual Basic coding.
The database is set out with multiple tables which include a customer table and a ticket table and both have multiple fields such as first name, surname in the customers table. Both of these tables are in use with the information that the customer gives over the phone.
I've already asked on other forums and people are where replying giving me third party programs that I could use to implement this, something I don't really want to do.

I've been writing a weight program for flooded pressure vessels and I'm having trouble retrieving the data from the text files I've been saving. I know how to write the data to the text file, but retrieving it with OpenFileDialog is not so easy for me.The user has individual text boxes that they input strings or numbers into and when they save the file, each text box input is written to one line in the text file. For example, the first text box is for the username, therefore the first line of text that is saved is the person's name, the second text box is the customer, thus the second line in the text file is the customer name, and so on.
(Actually, the first line of text in the saved file designates whether English units were used or Metric units because when the user retrieves the saved file, English units will open one form and Metric units will open a separate form, so some If...Then statement will need to occur).I need to be able to read the first line, have either my "EnglishForm"form open or my "MetricForm" form open, and then have each subsequent line of text be displayed in their corresponding text boxes. I want to split each line at the comma and write the left side to a textbox and the the right side to another textbox. I'm close, with the code below, but I can only post results from the first line in the file. How do I loop this and append the text results in each of the textboxes.

I need to to able to save multiple text-boxes and a combo-box to a text file. the thing is, when I go to save, I check out the .txt file manually and its saved all in one line, no spaces. when I go to "read" it with the 2nd part (<-----this is a 2 part Challenge) it even reads all from that one line in the text file. I have been able to load up the file, in to one txt box, but am unable to separate the items in to their own box. Should I be using arrays for this?
When the connections is successful (which it does when ran). Button 1 Writes to the text file (which it does successfully). Button 2 deletes the contents of the table and not the table itself (which it does successfully). Last, button 3 is supposed to read the text file and insert each field which is separated by a comma back into the existing table. However, at the "addComm.ExecuteNonQuery()" step I receive an error (An unhandled exception of type 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException' occurred in system.data.dll). I have spent many hours trying to find a solution but can't seem to get it to rewrite the text file back to the table.[code]...
The issue I have is being able to import a batch file (text file) into a vb form. I have test data for a system in this text file that needs importing into a textbox on a form. I have a button named importbutton that when pressed, will import this file into the text area, that contains over 30 rows worth of data. (Data being single sentences related to IT issues).

I am importing a txt file containing 4 columns of numbers and storing the values into an array, however occasionly there is a line of text that reqires skipping at the start of the text file. I will probably use a textbox or checkbox to say how many/if any lines sohuld be skipped.
I have a large text file that I want to use in my project, that data in the text file has about six items for each location. I have a data set with a parent child relationship between a patient table and an insurance table. There can be up to 4 insurances for each patient. I want to display them in 4 separate panels of a vb.net form. So if a patient had 2 insurances, then txtName1.text on panel 1 would have the company name of the first insurance, txtName2.text on panel 2 would hold the company name of the second insurance, and so on.
How do I display only the insurances related to the current patient? I've tried moving through the rows of the related table, but that gives me all the rows, not the ones I need. Everything I see on the internet suggest using a datagrid, but that's not an option in this case.
im having a issue where not all the data from my dgv is being loaded into text boxes on a 2nd form. What im doing is using the "DataGridView1.CellDoubleClick" event to open another form and pass the selected row into seperate columns, this works great but as i added more columns to the DGV it seems that the form is loading and not all the data is loading into the text boxes. Is there a way to halt the opening of the 2nd form until the loading is complete? i tried to simple "sleep" at the end right before the form is made visible but that didnt work. heres the code im using to load the DGV into text boxes, there are 16 columns, this is just the first one:
Basically what I'm trying to do is read a text file line by line. After each line is read, it will put each line into a separate text box. I've been trying to do this for a while and so far I haven't been able to. I tried using a for loop, but that just put all my lines in to one textbox.
