I'm converting a library from C# to VB.net which so far hasn't been too difficult. One class though implements IEnumerable and IEnumerator and contains a block of code like this:
public class MyClassCollection
{
// Assume all other necessary code is in place
I have the following function, Dim results() As Object = Me.Invoke("webdirect", New Object() {Company, LocationCode, CustomerNumber, OrderNumber, OrderRef, OrderDate, WebLines}) o_Company = CType(results(1),System.Nullable(Of Integer)) o_LocationCode = CType(results(2),String) o_CustomerNumber = CType(results(3),String) [Code] .....
So the return type of this function is a string, but I would like to get it back to its original form so I can access the individual sections i.e. o_LocationCode,o_CustomerNumber, etc how can I do that ?
Entire functions looks like this Public Function webdirect(<System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute(IsNullable:=true)> ByVal Company As System.Nullable(Of Integer), <System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute(IsNullable:=true)> ByVal LocationCode As String, <System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute(IsNullable:=true)> ByVal CustomerNumber As String, [Code] .....
Called like this Dim returnArray As String returnArray = client.webdirect(10, "123", "123", "123", "147", "2011-11-1", webLinesArray, 10, "", "", "", "", "", webRespArray) No errors on run time but the string seems to be just blank, thats why i was wondering how I convert the string back to the array so I can access the individual elements.
I can't seem to find any answers that work. Here's the setup:
Info class: Public Class ProductStageInfo
[Code]...
maybe I just don't understand the whole collection/index/thing. All the examples I've found are regarding single dimension collections - 'how to find name within this collection', and the responses use strings to search through them, but somehow the Info class is being treated differently, and I'm not sure how to translate this..
I need to bind a textblock.text property to a single element in an observable collection, or array element, and have the text update using the INotifyPropertyChanged or INotifyCollectionChanged, whichever is best.
Most examples describe ways to bind listboxes or other list views to entire collections, but my application needs to update several textblocks on a screen depending on notification of a change in one or more elements of an array.
Is it possible to bind a single textblock to a single array element? Is it possible to get notification of the proper type that will update one or more of the textblocks if any assigned element changes?
I have a collection (a Dictionary, actually) of strings as the key and strings as the value. The value strings are filenames. I wish to find which elements contain a certain filename as the value, returning the Key so that I can modify the Value (change the filename).[code]....
Say a collection grow. Once it's size reach 10k, I want to get rid the first 9k. How to do so?Oh ya I could use removeRange.Is there another function that will output say, the last 1k of the element, say if I do not want to remove anything? Something like tail or something.
I have the following XML which I load via XDocument.Load(uri) or XElement.Load(uri). I am having trouble getting a collection of <asset> elements via LINQ.
Here is a snippet of the XML I'm trying to query: <assetCollection xmlns="tag:aisle7.net,2009:/api/1.0"> <title>All Assets</title> <description>Collection containing all assets in the system</description> <resourcePath>/us/assets/~all</resourcePath> [Code] .....
So I have a code atm that has 2 combo boxes, one to select the make, then it will enable the model, I have 3 model choices, here's code: [code] Once I have selected my model of the car, it takes me to that specific form with a picture of that model, I then want to display individual parts, with individual prices that will add up in a text box above.
I created a method and pass the element type, id, and any inner text that instantiates a new html element. The last statement: Me.Controls.Add(element) adds it to the end of the page, but I would like it to be inserted in a specific position (between 2 divs within a form). What I am describing is very similar to this post on SO here, although it was for javascript.
Is it good practice to store sub-collections of item X inside a parent collection of item X for caching 'filter-queries' which are performed on the parent collection? (They won't be used together (as in color AND type).) Or is it also ok to just Loop over the collection and return the correct entities in a temporary collection?
I have been researching for a couple of days now and to no avail. Does Anyone know how to make a custom collection that take advantage of the collection editor? I would like to be able to have 3 Color Values, 1 Boolean and 1 String.
I'm trying to support Basic.NET on my framework so I'm trying to convert C# 4 code to Basic.NET 10. Microsoft is committed to "co-evolve" these two but I'm having a problem with collection initialization... I found that I can initialize a collection much like in C#:
I've got the following ADO.NET Entity Framework Entity Data Model:I want to find all the Policyholders with both a Service of a given Id and also a Keyword of a given Status.
This LINQ Does Not Work:
Dim ServicesId As Integer = ... Dim KeywordStatus As Integer = ... Dim FoundPolicyholders = From p As Policyholder In db.PolicyholderSet.Include("Keywords").Include("Services") _ Where p.Services.Id = ServicesId _ And p.Keywords.Status = KeywordStatus _ Select p
The Where clause cannot search the p.Services and p.Keywords EntityCollections in that way.
currently in my application I have a Global Collection that is a Collection of Collections.Currently I am trying to add items/ elements to one of the child collections of the Global Collection but I am unable to use the collections methods of the child.When I assign a variable to the child collection and return the collection it is just an object with the collection inside.
Ex: Dim GlobalCollection as New Collection Dim ChildCollection1 as New Collection Dim tempCurrentCollection[code]......
I've been working with a CMS called InsiteCreations 2008. I'm running into an error I just can't wrap my head around. I would even be willing to compensate anyone a small amount over paypal, for a solution. The error is rare in occurance, and appears when clicking about 3-4% of links to other pages within our CMS.The full code page is quite large, but there seems to be only one function associated with the error. The error also only appears when not logged into the CMS. If logged into the CMS, clicking the link simply displays the page as normal. I have already checked permissions on the page from the CMS admin console, and it is public.
The error message is as follows:
Server Error in '/' Application.Collection index must be in the range 1 to the size of the collection. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
Public Class Store Public Overridable Property Areas As List(Of Area) End Class Public Class Area
[code]....
What's the quickest way to get a total count of shelves for a store? I.e. for a store I get the total count of areas by using Areas.Count Or will I need to loop through each area and tally the count of shelves?
I have an ASP.NET app with lots of textboxes all over the page that need updating at various points through program execution. These textboxes actually belong to a certain class, so for easy updating I thought I could create a Dictionary(Of string, object) and add the control.ID and the control to it and then for updating do something like this:
I need to convert a VB Collection to a modern one, like Dictionary or Hashtable. For my approach, I need the Collection's KEYS. Googling tells me that it's impossible. Re-writing the entire application using new collections is not an option as the application is really old and large (converted from VB6 to VB.Net).Using the old Collection also is not good - as there are new components in development.Converting a - for example - Hashtable to Collection works:
using VBCollection = Microsoft.VisualBasic.Collection; public static VBCollection ToVBCollection(this Hashtable table) {
Basically I'm designing a program atm for my college coursework and have been trying to get a search button to work. Basically, I need a way so that after the customer id has been found, my variable (in this case inc) needs to set itself to the row which the customer id that has been found is in. the idea is that it finds the row, and fills in the textboxes which I have with the data Here's the bit of code I have atm: (And btw, inc is set as an integer earlier on in the program)
Dim CustomerID As Integer 'asks for the customer's ID number so that their results can be found. CustomerID = Val(InputBox("what is the Customer number?")) Try Sql = "Select * from tblQuotes WHERE CustomerID = " & CustomerID [Code] .... Hopefully with the text Whatever the Row Number is being replaced by actual code to get it to that row.
I have thius code that gets the html results of google search
Private Sub WebBrowser1_DocumentCompleted(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowserDocumentCompletedEventArgs) Handles WebBrowser1.DocumentCompleted Dim PageElements As HtmlElement = WebBrowser1.Document.GetElementById("rso") TextBox2.Text = PageElements.OuterHtml Dim text = TextBox2.Text End Sub
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click WebBrowser1.Navigate(TextBox1.Text)End SubAnd it returns the html code.I want to get each list item and takes it html and put each individuals html in to a variable. How would this be done.
I have a a multiline textbox, I want to take each and every character that the user enters and on a button press it replaces them with a set of characters, like:
i with x75d
or:
f with g8r
but the only way i have figured out how to do something like this is using a character in between each character and the split method, like:
Dim input() As String Dim txt as String Private Sub Encode_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As
I am making a HTML editor and thats the easy par ie saving as .html etc, but i want to also add in the thing thats in VB wherein it picks up the word your typing and make suggestions, i have made it so it can have a data base of a thousand words (1000) and you can add and it loads all fine. Now i need to add in the functionallity to read every Key, i tryed
Code: If e.KeyCode = Keys.Space Then Scan = ""
But none of this works, is there a better way of getting the the key press and adding it to a string untill space is pressed in which the array is cleared.
Code: Imports System.IO Public Class Form1
[code]....
So say i had a Tag stored that was "HTML" then as soon as i pressed the < key it would start checking my keys then if i pressed H it would display all word is the drop down box with H at the start then if i followed it with T then M it would show HTML in the box and maby a couple of others that began with HTM, if i then hit enter it would add in the L> thus compleating it and printing "<HTML>"
if this is in the wrong spot i believe this is the proper spot. anyways, i am using the code below to read a text file and then separate the line where it finds a :: - my problem is what if i have a line like:
I am looking to add individual lines of user inputed text into a rich text box. I've been working with .text and .appendtext however I can't assign individual lines of text.[code]...
