How can I disable/dis-enable a window in WPF, similarly to what is automatically done while a msgBox is visible. I would like to have the main window disabled while another window is on top, but I can't figure out how to do this.Also, I'd like to know how to not have the other window show up in the Windows Toolbar....

View 2 Replieshow to enable the "import" button when at least one of the checkboxes is checked.I have two buttons : "Deselect all" and "Select All" for the checking of the boxes, to import the specific files' data they want to Excel. (the files are in listbox, and the checked boxes is for selecting the files' parameters that they want to see in excel)
One option:When the user deselect all, the "import" button is suppose to be disable to prevent the user from importing the files' data parameters.
2nd option:(if i do not want to disable the import button) or show message that they have to select at least one box and at the same time, prevent the import button to work if there's no checked checkbox. So my deselect all button code :

PS: If I did not click "deselect all" button but click the "select all" button, the import button is enabled and working.

I am developing an application for an emergency services organisation using VB 2008 that will enable users to select a map zone of a city centre and plot icons onto it, then save/export the layered map with icons as an image.My problem at the moment is that I am struggling developing the point where the user imports in the icon (for example, a flame icon where a fire started) and drags it around the map within the picture box to the required area.I want them to be able to select their desired icon from a series of commandbuttons and for the icon to 'appear' on the picturebox and be enabled to be dragged around and dropped as required. The organisation already has such a thing working in Microsoft Word (!) and that uses the ActiveDocument.Shape.LoadImage function on a pushbutton to import the icon and then it is placed on the map as required, but this is really unreliable for them.I dont even know if you can layer images onto an existin picturebox within an application in this way and then export as a flat image.
View 3 Repliesi have created a form containing a text box and a button. i would like to know if it is possible to embed this form in the title bar of the current active window that is opened eg: ie,notepad,word this is so that i can enter a word in the text box and use text to speech to say it or highlight a word in the active window and it will be placed in the text box of my form. i can position the form in the top right location but then the form position is stagnant.

I have 2 forms Client.vb and Hand.vb linked with a module.vb
In essence when the app starts up I see the client. I can then click the "Hand" button and the Hand Window is shown as well.
What my goal is is to have it so that when i hover over the card (picturebox) in my hand form that it displays a larger image of that card in the preview box (Another picture box) In Client.vb
I have everything working except when i actually mouse over the image in the hand form it creates an error:

I'm having a problem with the graphics portion of vb.net. As a school assignment, we are making "turtle graphics" applications. I have mine working perfectly, the problem that we are having (not even the teacher can fix it) is that when the window gets sent the command to be painted (ie minimized and maximized) the drawings in the picturebox I am using are completely erased. I am looking for a way to prevent this from happening. I have been trying to store the image as a bitmap in memory, which does not work. Is there another way to draw to a bitmap/image in memory and then output that to a picturebox?

but the process starts with a standard, small empty mplayer window, NOT maximised. (If I change .Maximised to .Hidden it starts hidden, but seems to ignore it when set to .Maximised).
I want to allow the user to enable or disable a textbox by clicking either a button (enable) or the reverse. (disable) if the user clicks the enable button the textbox should receive the focus.

To date it doesn't look like VSTA will be the replacement. Automation from an External VB.NET app is certainly possible, but leaves something to be desired for speed and integration. Compiled Add Ins are the Cadillac of choice but can be a royal pain to debug and develop. Autodesk now provides a lightweight VB.NET script interface called iLogic. View 4 RepliesI'm trying to make a .dll that contains a lot of basic functionality that a program can use. Currently i am trying to use interfaces to make a lot of this functionallity independend of the program using it but i hit a snag. The Basic idea is that a programmer will create his own object using the interface discribed in my .DLL file. Then implements those functions as he likes. He can then instanciate a controller (found in the same DLL) and sends his custom object implementing the interface to that Controller. The controller can then be started and will take over all the work. I do not know what type of object is send to the controller and idealy i want to program it in such a fashion that i shouldn't care as long as the object send implements that interface.In code I am trying to achieve the following: (quite simplyfied)

this propperly. I know that the second i set the interface adaptor in the Controller VS comes nagging that it can not be converted to a "MyInterface" Class. Obviously i am doing something wrong. I can change the datatype that the controller expects to the "MyController" type but that would completely ruin the whole idea of flexibillity. I am hoping someone sees what i am trying to do and can point out where i made the thinking error.
Is this where i would post a picture of my interface and get feedback on changes for easier use? If not is there someplace on this forum or any other forum to do this?
View 1 RepliesSo I decided to make my famous tile selector project, but instead of drawing in a form's graphics, do it inside a tabpage.Well, I managed to get it working, but it seems to... flicker.Normally, setting the form's DoubleBuffered property to True would help a lot there, but apparently, the tabpage has no such property.
When I invalidate the tabpage, I draw two images and fill one rectangle.Following past advice, those two images were created before, just once, and are stored in a variable so I don't create them every time I invalidate the tabpage.
