I am working on project for cyber cafe. Requirement is that when user login for net surfing then he can download/upload only 25 MB after that downloading/uploading will be disabled but net surfing will be on. I did but it is capable for calculating download/upload data on net and local LAN through net shell command. I have no idea how can i disable downloading/uploading after 25 MB but net surfing should be on.

View 3 RepliesAlright, so I'm still working on the slot machine. I have three timers all independently going for my three "wheels" of the slot machine.
My issue, is that I'm trying to make a Stop button to stop each timer one at a time, and I'm not understanding why this code isn't working. The logic completely makes sense, and the first "wheel" stops when I click the button, however, it doesnt appear to stop the other two timers.

I created a form and have the variable inputs for 4 motor run statements. Then with a start button the script starts and it is surrounded by a for next statement to loop 10 times. It works fine but if i need to stop the execution of the script with a stop button. I put the stop in a new section but of course does not work to do a motor stop. It just causes the exe to not respond till the loop is complete. Just need to be able to stop the Run1_Click button section.
Edit:I do not mind if it finishes the 4 motor run commands and then stops execution of the loop. So need to figure out a way to trigger a stop from a button on the form to stop the cycle. For the future the loop will be a variable integer input so 10 will not be the standard.
Edit::Does a ' Do ' statement sound like the thing to use? If so how and where would I place that? Have a Stop button on the form and it would stop after the 4th motor run command.

I have a START and STOP button and when the user clicks "start" the program does a whole bunch of calculations and all. However, I noticed that when I was testing the program I clicked STOP the program continues to execute stuff.
My START code is basically a while loop that iteratively does some calculations.
So I just put a boolean variable as the while condition and when user clicks stop its set to false and when user clicks start its set to true. However, when I click stop, the condition is set to false yes but it still executes all the code until the condition is re-evaluated right...so my question is how can I get out of the while loop when user instantly clicks "stop"?

I've got a code in VB that will download a txt file from a website. The problem is I want this file to be downloaded into whatever folder that my program is in. for example, if my program was in C:
andom_folder then I would want this txt file downloaded to C:

I just put a link in the URL property and after a while it begins playing. ... after a while, of course. Because it has to download the file first. Perhaps I realized that because of my slow connection XD. But that made me think: how can I tell if the player is currently downloading a file? So that I can put a label saying "Please wait, preparing file..." or something.

In my web app, I have an aspx page which contains an html table and several lines of text. I need users to be able to download this whole page as a separate file.
In the past I have used the a webclient to do this:

I have some exe files that I've uploaded into my database as I don't want them to be publicly accessible. I tried using a link button and a generic handler to serve the file using the following code:

P.S - I believe the reason it doesn't have an extension is because the picture changes each time the url is loaded (probably through a php code). I'm not too sure on the specifics, but the lack of an extension is what I am having problems with.
I have been trying to download the file from a virtual directory ( which is pointing to some other location) within the web-folder. I have implemented 2/3 ways on doing that, but none of the ways download the file. The asp .net page is not even showing the error, its showing a blank screen. Once they log into the client the people who donated or bought VIP on my forums will have access to all my applications I have made. It will most likely show a list of all my applications in a listbox/listview. I currently do not have the code to be able to do this nor do I know how to do this at all. I basically need to download a program into memory and run it from memory so my application will never touch the users hard drive. I would also need this connection to be encrypted by either packet encryption or SSL. If packet encryption is possible I would like to know as I can't find any examples of it in VB.net

I am not sure how I can get the web client to know which files have been downloaded or not? I was thinking of using a for loop to download each file. But I will never know how many there are to download? The web client could download the same file twice?
