VS 2010 Adding A User To MULTIPLE LDAP Groups At Once?

Mar 30, 2012

Ok, I have this code... and it works. If I want to add it to say... a checkbox or something of the sort.

Public Sub groupaddarray()
Try
'Alpharetta Staff
If Form1.CheckBox23.Checked = True Then
Dim grp As IADsGroup

[Code]...

My question... how can I double click the listbox, and then it keeps adding these groups to say... another text box, and when I click add groups it will read the textbox, and add multiple groups instead of just the one?

Getting The ListBox To Display Member?

Dec 19, 2009

I've set my DisplayMember property of the listbox to the property I want yet when I add the objects to my listbox it "fails" and instead uses the .ToString of the entire object which doesn't return what I want.

[URL]

the DisplayMember only works if your listbox has a datasource. Well I'm not using a DataSource, like that guy I'm just using .Add. So how do I get DisplayMember to work without using a DataSource? Also I tried putting all of the objects (their simple item structures) into a List Of and then set that list as the DataSource to the ListBox and it actually added all of the objects to the listbox however the DisplayMember still didn't work and all I got where the results of Object.ToString().

VS 2005 Configuring A Datasource Value Member & Display Member

Jan 6, 2011

I have 2 tables Table A & Table B Table A has the table values that I want to be populated in a datagridview control. The challenge is that column 1 in table A contains an ID(foreign key) to a name field that is a located in table B. I need the datagrid to have the first column be a combobox that displays the names(from Table B) that are already in table A via the ID's, but reference the populating values from Table B. So that when you bring down the combobox you would be choosing from Table B data but populating table A with the ID and you would see a name there instead of an ID.[code] How do I populate my DS dataset with Table B? And how can I create a link to these two tables using a bound datagridview control?

ComboBox / Binding / Display Member & Value Member

Aug 31, 2011

I know I have done this before and as I remember it should be really easy. But for some strange reason I can't do it now and I am about to jump off the building.I will make it simple:Two tables, one is just a list of products and their code. The other table: "details" has a field named product. I want to store only the code there. In the second table's entry form, I am putting a combobox. This combo box should display the list of products, their names, but depending on which one is selected, the code is what is passed to the table "details". Currently If I set the display member to product and the value member to code it still pases the product to the binded data source.

.net - Verify User Log In Using LDAP?

Nov 17, 2011

I have not been able to successfully verify a user with LDAP for an ASP.NET web application. I have done so on our own network against Active Directory, but this is against a server outside of our network that is OID (Oracle Internet Directory).Usually, I use the following code with no problem.

Dim myDirectoryEntry As New System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry("LDAP://1.2.3.4:999/OU=SomeOU,DC=Something,DC=com")
myDirectoryEntry.AuthenticationType = System.DirectoryServices.AuthenticationTypes.Sealing
myDirectoryEntry.AuthenticationType = System.DirectoryServices.AuthenticationTypes.Secure
Try

After that, I haven't been able to find a method to verify a user's log in information with their password and then pull back some information.

How can I access the current user information via LDAP and VB.Net 2.0*? I found a vbscript that works, but I'd rather have it done in .net

Dim objSysInfo = CreateObject("ADSystemInfo")
Dim strUser = objSysInfo.UserName 'returns current user account
Dim objUser = GetObject("LDAP://" & strUser) 'queries active directory for user account

I'm using the framework 2.0 because it is for more likely in my XP/Vista/7 World to have 2.0 installed than 3.5 or 4.0

Return User Details After Ldap Authentication (asp.net)?

May 15, 2012

I am trying to set up a new internal system for my client currently, they insisted on integrating the login with AD, which makes sense, and i have managed that with no problem. However what i also want to do, after authentication, is to store some user details / attributes as session variables. I have the following code to aithenticate the user:

'this function authenticates against AD - very simple and works nicely.
Function AuthenticateUser(path As String, user As String, pass As String) As Boolean
Dim de As New DirectoryEntry(path, user, pass, AuthenticationTypes.Secure)

[code]....

which works nicely, and once the function returns me a True, i set Session("LoggedIn") as True.what i need to do is (hopefully within the above function) save the user's name, and 2 other custom atributes from within the user's AD profile. How would i access those (hypothetically)

Create A For Loop That Will Display The Values A User Selects For A Listbox?

Feb 21, 2009

I'm trying to create a for loop that will display the values (favorite programming languages) a user selects for a listbox.

So far I have this:

Dim selectedLanguages As String = ""
For intLoopIndex As Integer = 0 To languageListBox.Items.Count - 1

[code]....

So far, no matter how many items they select it will display a comma even if only one item is selected, example "C#,"However this is what I need it to do:

1. If the user selects one programming language than it should just printout the selected course with a period right after it. Example: C#.

2. If the user selects two languages it needs to have the text "and" between them followed by a period. Example: VisualBasic.Net and C#.

3. If the user selects three or more languages it needs to seperate them like this for example (again with a period at the end): VisualBasic.Net, C#, and Asp.net.

Asp.net - LDAP User Attribute Request Returns Unusual Results?

May 31, 2012

I'm struggling to return user details from AD using LDAP, after i have authenticated that the user exists. I am using a simple auth method as follows:

Function AuthenticateUser(path As String, user As String, pass As String) As Boolean
Dim de As New DirectoryEntry(path, user, pass, AuthenticationTypes.Secure)
Try
Dim ds As DirectorySearcher = New DirectorySearcher(de)
Dim result As SearchResult = ds.FindOne()

[Code]...

the problem is that "distinguishedName" returns "DC=our-domain,DC=co,DC=uk" and "name" returns just "our-domain", not the name of the user that has just been auth'ed

Note: the displayName.text outputs are purely for debug purposes.I have tried various combos of requests but nothing seems to return USER details. ETA: to the security police: this is all within a https connection, I'm not sending passwords about in plain text!
