In the following code i get a warning at line 59:Warning 1: Access of shared member, constant member, enum member or nested type through an instance; qualifying expression will not be evaluated.and.. At line 78 I get this Warning:
Warning 2 Property 'SelectedCustomer' doesn't return a value on all code paths. A null reference exception could occur at run time when the result is used.
The program compiles and runs well, but i cant' undesrtand the reason for these warnings. Any Idea ?

View 2 RepliesI know that the MenuItem class contains an internal class named MenuItemData, which contains itself an internal member named onDrawItem. Given a MenuItem, I want to retrieve the object corresponding to the member onDrawItem. But all I manage to do is to get the FieldInfo, not the object itself.

When reaching the last line, I get an error saying something like that (it's traduced):
The field 'onDrawItem' défined in type 'System.Windows.Forms.MenuItem+MenuItemData' is not a field of the target object of type 'System.Windows.Forms.MenuItem. I don't know what object to pass to the GetValue function on the last line. My goal is to remove the base eventHandler of the menuItem, named DrawItem. My question... how can I double click the listbox, and then it keeps adding these groups to say... another text box, and when I click add groups it will read the textbox, and add multiple groups instead of just the one?
I am using System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagement to try to add a local account to the local administrators group with the following code but am getting the error below on the group.Members.Add(usr) line. Both usr and group are created as objects and if I create a Test group, I can add the user to the Test group. I know the group object is the local administrators group and not the domain group because i changed the description on the local administratrors group and the group object is correct so it appears to be something specific to the local administrators group.
View 6 RepliesI have form, on which a component is placed, which is inherited from Forms.UserControl. This component, called Panel, handles the layouting as visible in the screenshot below.
The screenshot shows 10 Panels. Each Panel contains its own title bar and visible area, in which any UI can be displayed.When the application starts, the application contains only one single Panel. When the user decides to split this Panel into 2 Panels, those new Panels are displayed side-by-side in the area of the old Panel either horizontally or vertically. Inbetween these Panels a splitter is added, so that the user can resize the Panels. The user can do the splitting multiple times, so that you reach a layout as given in the screenshot above with 10 Panels.
Minimizing and the maximizing the application causes a painting issue as displayed in the screenshot below. The red rectangle indicates the area, where the layout is not displayed properly.
Here some additional information:
1. Windows 7 The issue occurs only on Windows 7 machines. On Windows XP the application is running properly.
2. .Net Framework The application was developed for the .Net Framework 1.1. I upgraded it to 4.0. All warnings were fixed, which occured after the upgrade to 4.0.
3. Layouting Technically The Panel works internally with mutiple Forms.Panel, 1 Forms.Splitter etc. objects. If the Panel is not splitted, it displays the title bar and a visible area below, both instances of Panel. If splitted, the Panel replaces the title bar and visible area with 2 instances of Panel again but divided by a Splitter.

I'm using a series of nested if/then/else statements to make sure a user enters information into each text box or chooses a radio button. What would i use to say if no text is entered in textbox1, then ... also what would i use to make a sure the user choose one or the other radio button? for example i also have a combo box, i used "If SubjectComboBox.SelectedIndex <> -1" for the if statement.

Upon the user logging in to the website i check the credentials and store the guid in session if successful, in order to show the user there profile / how many post have been made etc i run my queries to the database passing the users session GUID to fetch data related to them.

The whole point is to use the "<" & ">" buttons to move the cursor left and right. When you do, it highlights a single character as it moves. Then, once you select a color button, it adds a special character BEFORE the highlighter character.
Ex: Help = He^6lp ^6 being one of the colors.

Here is my need for a windows form program. I have a program that creates .xml files with the same name but on different dates. It is broken down by Type/Date/Time/file.xml. The "file.xml" is the same name every time.
What i need is to grab all of these xml files and export them to excel by pulling certain information out of them.
coding for searching through a windows file structure to pull these files out.
There will be something like 30-40 of these files spread throughout different "Type", "Date" and "Time"

With my CheckedListBox, I am trying to get the text of each item that is checked and add it to a listbox, but it does not get everything currently checked. If I have 3 items checked, it only adds 2 items. If I deselect an item, it appears.
