Linking Combo Box Control To Access?

I am teaching myself VB, and when I first managed to do what the post title says, I ended up with a combo box filled with values from the column of a table in a linked db. But later when I updated the VB Form and tried linking the database on this revision of the project,and then added the details to the combo box where to read the values and run the form, nothing displays in combo box. Here is what I did:In the IDE of VB, I went to "Add New Data Sources" -> Database -> New Connection -> Browse -> (selected filename of db) -> Next -> Select "yes" (put in current project) -> Next (save connection name) -> tick boxes for tables in database to connectThen in combo box control properties i set the Data Source (Other Data Sources -> Project Data Sources -> (dataset name) -> Table Name

I am running Visual Basic 2008 I have 1 Combo Box that Has 3 Entries, Kyocera>Konica>Toshiba I have a 2nd Combo Box that has entries for each of those manufactors ...Kyocera has 3035,4035,5035....the konica has c250,c352,c452......the Toshiba has c3520, 4520

i have connected my form 1 (User Details) to an sql server. On form 1 there are a couple of textboxes and 1 combo box. The textboxes all work fine however the combo box doesn't.
This is what my program is meant to do; when the user clicks Add (btnAdd) then edit (btnEdit) and inputs their information the clicks save (btnSave). Their details get stored on the sql server. This works fine so far. However when they call upon their details using search (btnSearch) the textboxes all appear correctly but the combo box remains blank.Here are my code sample's for btnAdd, btnEdit, btnSave and btnSearch, i'm not sure which one is making the combo box appear blank:

i wanted to link options selected from Comb box A (general) to specific options in combo box B (specific). I want to pick a word in Combo box A that has specific words/phrases in Combo Box B show. But not all the words to show in the combo box B if they aren't associated with the Word picked in Combo Box A. Ex.When "Soda" is picked in A, only "Coke, Sprite, Fanta" should be visible in combo box b, not everything else.
This is the code i used to make the boxes, but i don't know how to link them. Do i use an If/Else/ Case Else statement or what?

I am trying to create a combo box the fill with the list of names from an Access Database Column, and I have read numerous forums trying to discern what to do but the stumbling block is when I try to copy their code, changing variable names to mine, etc I hit stumbling block when they ask for things like New SqlCommand(sSQL, myConnection) and my VB IDE doesnt come up recognising the sqlcommand when I start typing it in when it tries to autocomplete what I am typing. Im not too sure if this is the correct place for this question, but I couldn't find anywhere else..Heres what i want to do. I have two tables in an Access DB. TableA and TableB. Each Table has only one column called Picture, and that column is filled with the names of pictures (picture1, picture2, picture3, etc)
Thing is, that The pictures in TableA have equivalent pictures in TableB. They are not named the same, but the pictures themselves are the same i.e.: TableA Picture1 = TableB Picture3, TableA Picture2 = TableB Picture5.
What i Would like to create is a form that has two datagrids, or Listboxes populated with the data from each table. One for TableA, One for TableB. When the User selects a picture from one of these controls, The other control must show which picture the selected one corresponds to (if i select TableA Picture1, TableB Picture3 becomes selected showing that they match)
I think that most of the work will be at the actual DB, somehow linking each and every field, maybe a one to one link between fields/cells in the DB, then in VB calling that one record that was clicked on, seeing what relation it has to the other table,

I have created some tables in 2007 and would like to use visual basic to create an interface for a database. I would like to add, edit, and view my records and maybe create reports.
Does anyone know of any online tutorials which would help me to do this or could anyone offer any guidance.

The Calendar control (the Month Calendar) control in VB 2008. I am creating an attendance timesheet and I want the Calendar to color each date differently like e.g An employee Paul is selected from a list.
On the calendar I select the month. (The dates are not supposed to be selectable). Then lets say it is June. He is late on the 1st and the Second, so those days are supposed to be colored red (the whole block). Let's also say he is absent on the fourth and so I want that date to be coloured black. How do I do this? I tried finding a query and my friend told me that this functionality is not available in the current control and that I was best off making my own control (???).
I have tried selecting specific dates and bolding them (there is a function that allows this) but I am stumped trying to find two different ways to differentiate colours. Second:- How do I link a calendar with an Access Database?

I have a user control and a panel on it in Dock fill format. Now this is exposed for the user to add on the form. Till this point fine. Now the user sees lot of events for the user control, which I want to actually link up with the panel on the usercontrol, because that is where I want things to happen . Is there any solution to link up the events in few lines of code than calling each event separately? I am also looking to expose only few events than all the base control events.

After trawling around the net for a good few days, i decided to post something here.
Basically, i've got a problem linking a data source (Access 2007 database) to a VB 2008 project.
I've broken it down to having a problem dragging a table onto my form, when it generates the nav bar, it says "0 of {0}", and the table is empty (despite the actual database containing values)
However, this happens only at home, at college it works totally fine. The only difference that's obvious is that i'm using Windows 7 at home, and Windows XP at college.

I am working on a project that requires us to create a bracket type tournament and I am now stuck. I linked my access database to my project, and have 32 labels (lbl1-lbl32) and I cannot figure out how to integrate the labels to read from my database. It can be random or not, I just cannot get the labels to display the names of the fighters.
After the labels are integrated, the next coloum of the bracket has a link that opens a new window with each of the fighters match results, does the link have to include anything particular to display the attributes from the database?

I'm trying to get a combo box to fill itself from a MS access database field but I can't get it to work. I can get it to work at school but not at home. Also can't get a program that worked at school to work here so I'm guessing that somewhere there is something blocking the connection to the database. I've gone into the MS access trust center and looked at the settings there but I can't see anything that would be stopping it. I just need to find that setting (if it is indeed a setting) wherever it is and fix it so that I can access my database. I am not using visual basic from access I am accessing access through visual basic.
I can't get it to work with an ADO connection, either. Also when preview data via clicking smart arrow on the combo box then going to preview data I can see the data just fine. Also I just noticed I get two lines in my output after the file is run that say "A first chance exception of type 'System.InvalidOperationException' occurred in System.Data.dll" I don't get these lines if I comment out all the code for the combo box.

I have a combobox that is bound to a BindingSource that contains a custom object with multiple Properties.
Is there a way to access a Datamember that is not displayed in the combo box and display it elsewhere. For example, When a user selects a name from the combo box, texboxes (or Labels) populate with Title, PHone, email, etc. All of this data is loaded in the custom object that is bound to the datasource so the info has already been pulled from the db and is in memory.

I have a datagridview with a combobox coloumn. A few items have veen added to it. (Say Furniture, Property etc.).I wish when I select Property, the column 2 of my current row should get text Property.Which event to be fired for this. I tried _CellValueChanged etc. but that did not work.

I'm trying to bind a combo box to a Access database field. I'm trying to do this with code instead of using the data sources wizard as I was told that this would be more flexible and better if distributing the finished program to other computers.
The result is that the form runs, but nothing is in the combo box.
I have also not used a dataset in my code, only a data table. Am I correct in thinking that this is plausible?

What I am "trying" to do is to take a combo box control on my form, and load it up with data from an access db, but I dont want them to be linked so that when I change the combo box to another value it will cahnge record data. From the pics attached I have manage to load the data into the combo box, but the 2 are linked and when I try to change the combo box it creates violations in the database as its trying to change the records.

I'm using VS2008, vb.net, and winforms. I've got 3 comboboxes on the same form who are all bound to the same data. If an item is added in one, I want the change reflected in the other two. I'm trying to create one sub to handle the adding of an item for all three combos. I found that the "sender" object appears to contain the control name. The Sub I created is not working quite right because after the item is added, the combo list display repeats itself. So instead of "Item1, Item2, Item3" after adding "Item3", I get "Item1", "Item2", "Item1", "Item2", "Item3". This coding works fine if I were to copy it to the Key_Down event for each combo and reference it directly (for example, use cboSpecialty1.Items.[code]...
