Listbox Control Item (ugh) Multiple Names?

Okay, so the title was horrible. I know that. Here's what I'm trying to do:I have a lot of data that's coming from a database and being adding to a listbox. The data that's coming from the database is a unique ID, and a name. Is there any way I can make the item contain both the ID and name? I know I can append it, that's not what I'm looking to do. I need a way to be able to either get the ID, or get the name, while displaying them both.I have gotten as far as creating a class:
Class Item
Property ID as Integer
Property Name as String

I don't usually use VB but now I must for an assignment. I would like to know if it's possible to change the display name for an object on a listbox. For instance, if I add to it a user defined class, there's a way to provide it's display name, instead of converting it to string and then add it.
This is what I have
Dim format As String = FormatOutput(object)
Lista.Items.Add(format)
I would like to have the same output, but instead add the object.
Note: if such is not possible, then how can I associate the list box selection to the actual object? Doing it by index is painfull, because I'm using linked lists (ie., instead of arrays).
Note 2: python has a __str__ method which is called by default when the object is cast to string. Is there anything like it in VB?

I have a combo box with a list of Coordinator IDs, one Coordinator can run many subjects. On another form I have a list box that contains a list of the subjects, and another list box that has the coordinator that teaches the subject. The positions match up, i.e if there is a match for the co-ordinator ID in the list box at position 3, I want to extract the subject list box at position 3 also. The problem is 1 coordinator can teach more than 1 subject. Basically I want to show the subjects taught by the Coordinator the user selects in the combo box. I'm using a list box control and I've specified an item height of 25 and DrawMode of OwnerDrawFixed as well as coded up all the necessary ListBox_DrawItem code to get this to work. My problem is when it displays my list all the items are top justified in the list. I want them to be centered and right justified so when the are selected they are in the center of the highlighted box, not at the top of it. Does anyone know how to do this?

How someone would select an item from a list box and click a button and have that item go into another listbox with it's price? I seem to be stuck on this part.

I have a listview in my program that lists a couple of items (that the user adds).
How can i access the names of the items in the listview?
Say i have 5 items, in a listview with 3 columns.
When the user clicks a button a loop starts which displays a msgbox with the name of the items (column1) , one after one.
How would i succeed doing that?

I have 2 listboxes on my form.Listbox 1 - populated with "available" field namesListbox 2 - populated with "selected" field names.There cannot be the same field name in both listboxes - it's either one of the other.The logic I was going to apply was to populate Listbox 1 with every field name ... and then as I populated Listbox with the field names which the user has already selected, remove the corresponding item from Listbox 1.

i'm having a bit of trouble. can't seem to add ONLY the file names, without path or extensions to a list box no problem there with a a textbox. also the code i have to get the file to open in a textbox is a bunch of runaround (get's the job done though) but includes a few labels, text boxes, etc. i need a simpler code if possible.

Just want to ask this. I have a jQuery that move listbox item to another listbox. An its working fine the item was remove. Sample: I remove item in listbox A and it was added to listbox B. But here is now the problem, when I tried to check each item in listbox A, I noticed that all items that was removed was still there. But i can see in my eyes that it was removed. but when I tried to run a code to check each items - all item that was removed was still there.

This next program I am working on consists of 3 listbox's. The idea is to have the end user load names in the first and second list box. Then have a button's action when pressed combines the list in listbox1 with listbox2 then gives the output combination in listbox 3.
I also wanted to include some checkbox options such as adding a "_" or "." for every item.
