I Have two listboxes , Listbox1 and Listbox 2 , I want to select some items from listbox1 to listbox2 , with those selected items in listboxe2 I want it to extract specific data concerns to those selected item from Microsoft Access and later.I want to use only those specific extracted data to calculated some mathematical function.

View 3 RepliesI am doing a lab where you have to connect to the database using the Database Configuration Wizard in Visual Basic (Visual Studio 2008). The database connection is there since the form will display the records.The problem is the user is supposed to be able to click on the combobox arrow to select a stock rating (high, low, etc) and then the listbox will display only the stocks with that rating. I thought this would work but nothing is showing up in the listbox.

Here is what I did.
1. Went to data source window and clicked "add new data connection"
2. Choose Data Base clicked next
3. Clicked Create Typed UserInformation as the name
4. Next.... Under Data set name I typed UserInformation again
Does naming the database and the data set the same cause problems?
5. Created New Table called users for UserInformation Database.
6. I added the following Columns: FirstName, LastName, Address, and Phone
7. Edited the table to add a couple of people. Tom/Franks/108 blah street/5555555 and Bill/West/109 blah street/5555555.
8. I also reconfigured the data connection in the data source window to show the users table.
I have four labels on my form, a text box, and a button.
I want to be able to search the database by last name for what the user typed into the textbox when they click the button.
I know this is probably easy for all of you but I am still trying to get used to using databases.

Here is an image of my table data and design I am trying to read some values from a database using the oledb dataset however when I run the sql command and get down to outputting the value I am greeted with the following error: "IndexOutOfRangeException: There is no row at position 0.". Yet when I run the very same sql command in access I get back the data I wanted.When I am running the above code, no errors are produced until I get down to the last writeline where I want to output my data.

i'm trying to do a workshop selector that adds price of each workshop selected and puts the type of workshop the place and the total price then adds the sum of all workshops together.i'm trying to figure out how to extract only the price from the last list box and add them to get the final sum and display in a text box. I have a loop to add it but it only works when the workshop and place is not in the listbox.

I'm having a problem with my software.
This is are the parts of my system where my problem occurs:
- Search Button
- List Box1
- TotalTextbox
- Button
- SQL Database with a Column named "Amount" and it only contains numbers Datatype is System.String
So, basically a user clicks the Search button and searches for a data in the SQL Database, and the result of the search displays in different Listboxes including the "Amount" Column from the database, which has it's own Listbox named "Listbox1". the Listbox is now filled with numbers.
Goal: The goal is to get the Sum of all the "Numbers" Displayed in the Listbox1, and the Total is then Displayed into a Textbox via using Click event or automatically.
The Code:

And i got this Error: Conversion from type 'DataRowView' to type 'Double' is not valid.
I ended up with this..

But the values are not adding up, the total is always at 0. i've been searching for hours now from the net to a better way of doing this.

This works well for the first two entries in the DropDownList. However, whenever I select one of the other options and click the Send Request button it "jumps back" to the 2nd entry in the list and sends that data instead, completely ignoring the option I selected.I think I have narrowed down the problem to the fact that the DataValue for the second entry in the list is a Null value.

View 1 RepliesI've been making a scheduling program using the calendar object.I can manage to select any date with a single click with a message box pop up entering a memo for the date selected. After pressing ok, the memo is displayed in a list box, with date.
1.Unfortunately the date is being displayed twice - perhaps because i used .selectedrange in the handler ? i would like it to be listed only once
2. the memo comes up on a separate line, ideally id like it to be displayed on the same line as the date.i tried ListBox1.Items.Add(whendate, memo) but it cant compile, so ive had to put each line in seperately
3. I would like to mark the sundays and national holidays in red color (the calendar is only set for a year so i dont mind doing them by hand, however the only tool i can find in the Monthcalendar1 properties is MonthlyBoldedDates, and no color assignment [code]
