Post HTTP Headers To Log Into Forums
Apr 25, 2009I am currently working on a personal project with hopes of using VB.NET 2008 to connect to my personal forum for use of both authentications into the program and group changes. People in my forum are based on ranks, the ranks are organized via the groups in the forum so if one person gains a rank they need to be taken out of one group and placed into another. With multiple people this is a process and presents a security risk should someone get kicked out but accidently be left in a group giving them access.
For the time being, I need to be able to post the headers to the forum to login and parse the response. I have tried many times and I�m currently trying this using the chilkat dll as a reference which allows me to send headers and see the response, but the response is always the failure to login page. The headers are as follows:

I heard i can use http request to vist websites ?

Jun 12, 2011I have created a few months ago a simple tool in vb.net, that sends an xml code to server, and that server sends response after a while. Everything is performed in http session, for that purpose I use webbrowser control and webclient. I know it could have been solved in different way, however iam not an expert in vb.net, and also didnt want to spend too much time on it. Anyway it worked, until they had changed something on the server. Let me explain in a few words how that tool works, so it will be easier to understand the problem.
In the first part, I open an URL in the webbrowser control, subsequently I enter xml code in the textarea on that page and click on the submit button. In result of that I get another page with some data on it, namely links to xls files. In the next part I use webclient for downloading those files. What is important for all of these operations I need to use the same http session id.
So, simply by now, i just set headers in webclient - WebClient.Headers.Add("Cookie", WebBrowser1.Document.Cookie.ToString) What have guaranteed to use the same session id by the WebClient. However, after the change made on the server mentioned before, the JSESSIONID value is not available in that string. When I use https analyzer (fiddler), I can see that value there...until moment when I am using WebClient. Of course due to that fact, the webclient won't download files for me, because the session id is not the same.
There is one more thing, what would be useful. When I checked the cookies file on my harddrive, I saw that line starts like #HTTP_ONLY. I think that would cause that problem with jsessionid.
Now, I am coming to my question Do you have any idea, how I would get that JSESSIONID value ? It is sent from webbrowser control, however don't know how to get it.

Usercontrols - User Controls Not Working In Live
Nov 10, 2009At work we have a pretty large web application that works by having a few pages, with lots of user controls which are nested in these pages. This is working fine most of the time but we have a problem at the moment where one of the user controls isnt working. Originally it was referenced from another project in the solution but when this wasnt working I decided to copy the file into the project and try to register it locally. It works on our development system, its only when we move it to deployment that it stops working, and I'm thinking it's something that I'm missing in the build. When you go to the page on Live the control is just missing, and no errors are generated.

I have a menustrip at teh top, with a view category. Inside taht category i have a view cookies and view history button. As we know, ths browser stores its history and cookies with the Internet explorer. I am looking on how to create a form with the ability to view history, and another to view cookies. I also want to be able to delete them willingly from within the form. I have a listview control already on the form, but i am lost elsewheres.

I want to prevent users from selecting the header items. I managed to revert back to the previously selected item if user selects the header item. Problem with this approach is drop down collapses and then reverts back to previously selected item. Is there a way to check, if the item being selected is a header item and if it is a header item, do not collapse the dropdown. Basically I want to implement behavior of HTML select list with optgroup.

Being the noob I am it took me about 6 hours to figure out how xml works and to write some code for what i need to do.
Here is what i came up with:

So what would the second be ?Also another question i have is how do i put an image in an imagecolumn by a web link, not a local picture.

Now thinking about it, when the daylight savings happen, it will only be DateTime.Now.AddHours(-2), how do I go about fixing that from now? Is there a way to fix that?
