i had program as part of my final year project,program used smtp to send email to email to mms gateway. worked perfectly at home moved it onto set up in college and it appears they do not allow these smtp requests from campus.
basically i need to simulate a login to hotmail and to send a message without using an smtp request. Is this possible to do ?? what im looking for is minimal user input, i want to be able to hard code the username and password for the login, and also hardcode the emails recipients subject and body.

I have a form1 that logs in the user to my hotmail/live email sender. In form1 I have 2 textboxes. First ask for email address for live/hotmail and the other ask for the password. Then it takes you to form2 (email sender). My problem is if the user enters a wrong password or email the program still takes them to form2... hence the program wont work if they try to send an email.. Is there a way I can verify if at form1 that the email and password is correct before it moves on the form2?
View 11 RepliesI am currently working on a personal project with hopes of using VB.NET 2008 to connect to my personal forum for use of both authentications into the program and group changes. People in my forum are based on ranks, the ranks are organized via the groups in the forum so if one person gains a rank they need to be taken out of one group and placed into another. With multiple people this is a process and presents a security risk should someone get kicked out but accidently be left in a group giving them access.
For the time being, I need to be able to post the headers to the forum to login and parse the response. Any help is greatly appreciated. I have tried many times and I’m currently trying this using the chilkat dll as a reference which allows me to send headers and see the response, but the response is always the failure to login page. The headers are as follows:

Being the noob I am it took me about 6 hours to figure out how xml works and to write some code for what i need to do.

I am working with Visual Studio 2010 Professional. I created a simple WebBrowser trying to access the indicated web-site. The problem begins. Well, the website loads, but when you go to the login page (Forex Trading Social Network | Online Forex Trading Forum and Social Networking Site) and try to log in, it doesn't work. I mean, when I enter the login details the login page just refreshes itself and the login wasn't proceed. The same login page appear with every login attempt. I am using the Webbrowser Control which I know is so flexible if you know what your doing. I do see that the whole inbox is in a table so i don't know if I need to approach that in that manner or not. I spent 5 hours last night trying to figure this out.

I am trying to write a program that will automatically send me an email when certain events happen. When such an event is called, I would have the sub that handles the event write the email and send it to me.To test this, I am using two Hotmail accounts that I have and trying to send an email from one to the other. However, I constantly recieve an error and I do not know how to fix it. I have the code written to explain to me the error. It does not return which object or application or whatever caused the error and the error message itself was "Failure sending message."It is a console application, seeing as when it will be implemented into the actual program, it will send emails without user interaction. The application is designed to allow me to enter in the subject and message body (the To and From "fields" are already filed.) and then I tell the application to send the email and it will return a result when the message is sent.

I created a SQL DB named MainDB.mdf and a small VB 2010 application with some forms and datasets.Everything was working OK until i got a new computer and re-installed Visual Studio 2010 and SQL server 2010 on it. I copied my DB from the old to the new computer and also copied by VB 2010 project to it. I used Windows Authentication to connect to the DB in the old computer and also in the new one, i am using different Windows user account names though.
I was able to connect to the DB in the new computer in the Server Explorer section, i created a new connection string to the DB and i can seed there is data in the tables. When i run my VB 2010 application created in the old computer get error:
"Cannot open database "MainDB" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'D630Admin'."
I need to get rid of that error and be able to add/mod/del data from my DB using my VB application as i used to.
