Window Live Login - Verify Email And Password?

I have a form1 that logs in the user to my hotmail/live email sender. In form1 I have 2 textboxes. First ask for email address for live/hotmail and the other ask for the password. Then it takes you to form2 (email sender). My problem is if the user enters a wrong password or email the program still takes them to form2... hence the program wont work if they try to send an email.. Is there a way I can verify if at form1 that the email and password is correct before it moves on the form2?

I have to do for my project I am working on is to verify my user name and password on my loginform with the user name and password in my customerc.xml file. So I want to have the user type in his username in usernametextbox.text and password in passwordtextbox.text then have the program search through the xml file for a match loginID (username) and password. If no match is found show error message and if a match is found then frmCustomermaintenance.show
Heres an example of the xml file

Well its not very important, but i have 500 emails (yahoo) and i want to make a program that checks if these emails are valid. Basically i want to send newsletters to these emails, but i want to know if the emails are really valid. How can i do that. I'm trying to write vb code to verify a password input by a user to known table passwords in access database. The form has a drop down combo box that has userID's that are selectable. I'm trying to get the index number out of the combo box selection and use that to look up what the password should be. With that information i can then compare the stored password with the password typed into the text box below the combo box. All of the examples i've found that direct me show the code in regular Visual Basic. I'm using Visual Basic 2010 with the .net architecture.

I want to make a program that tells you if you can login to an email account or not by entering their username and password into Windows Live.
It would connect to the Hotmail server and see if the user/pass combination is correct. If it can log in, it would display a label that the account is valid, if not it would say that the account is not valid.
Ok here's the totally incorrect code for logging in. I kind of borrowed it from sending an email:

basically i want to create a login to my program which uses the same username and password as windows login.I already know how to retrieve username and auto place it in the username box using
TextBox1.Text = Environment.UserName.ToString
i wondered is there an easy way to only allow access if the password matches up to their logon? i dont know about setting up databases but i dont think this option would work because each member of staff can personally choose their password.

why the following Sub does not work as expected. It has no compile errors but it does not work. It suppose to validate a password entered by a user on a login form with users password in a table called 'passwd' in the LgaPayroll database. If the password entered matches what is in the password field of the 'passwd' table then it will display a form else, it will tell the user 'The password you enter was invalid". My problem is; even when you entered a password that is in the 'passwd' table, it is tells you 'The password you enter was invalid'. Below is the Sub:
