Feb 8, 2012I am in process to develop an application for Windows Mobile 6.5 using Visual Basic 2005 and .NET Compact Framework. My problem is that I want to know if an instance of my application is already running and, in that case, I want to jump directly to that instance, without starting another one. I tried several solutions found on the internet but I think there are solution for desktop applications not for mobile applications because I have a lot of errors.

Apr 13, 2011I currently have a simple crystal reports application which generates a crystal report and in the built in viewer provided by VS2005. There is a drop down where you can select options to change the criteria of the report. I wish to convert this app to a windows executable which will take all those select options and generates pdfs based on the crystal report. the executable will be triggered by windows task scheduler...or maybe command line app?
Obviously this will be somewhat of a re-write. What would be the best way to start this as? a crystal report application or a windows application.

I have noticed that there exists a specific option that needs to be enabled for the machine to hibernate correctly and that is found in Control Panel--> Power Options --> Hibernate Tab (if this option is not checked then the machine goes into stand by mode rather than hibernate) Is there a way to programmatically check the status of the "Enable Hibernation" check box and check/uncheck it?

EDIT: To check the Description of an application, go to your application, right click -> Properties -> General and you'll see the Description text.

Nov 18, 2010I am running one fortran exe in .net application(calling from command line with the help of system diagnostic process).If we directly click on fortran exe, it shows inputs to enter for fortran in command window, after input entered it gets executed.We want same behaviour but want to run fortran exe from .net application,If we click on button in vb.net form, this exe should get called and should show inputs to enter on the command line, once inputs entered it should execute. MY problem is when the user tries to select an item, say Detail, having focus on the listbox, when pressing the keys D the item Detail selects but on next key e, it goes on to the Item starting with E. (in vb6 listbox property Sorted = true would solve this problem, which i am not getting with vb 2005/2008)
So, how can i achieve the multiple keypress on the listbox (without using any textbox to select items) to select the typed items in the list.

May 7, 2009I can pause the application and see that it thinks no threads are running so no call stack. The other projects in the same solution are all responding fine, just this one stalls. I can not think of any way to work out what it was doing at time of stall, I have no event logs, no breakpoints, there is no particular thing I can check for in my own logging system (which is quite extensive) that shows where/why/what the application is hanging for. Any clues on how to solve/investigate? To add, this is on a Vista box, but not able to move the system to anything else (source controlled) until I can find out what this is. Its an avenue I can go down if required however.
