Dec 28, 2010I started making a program, and I wanted to insert music to play. i just added music to the resources and used the code my.computer.audio.play(my.resources.name_of_the_file and so on. this worked perfectly until I added the 5th song. the resource file became to large and vb said it was corrupt. so I thought of a new way: making a music file opener. I made a code so a window opens where you can select your .wav files. that all worked, but I couldn't get it so the music would start automaticly or that it would actually play. this is the code I have so far:

Making App Open File That Is Double Clicked On
Aug 23, 2010i've made a little app that opens .txt files kind of a replacement for notepad now i have set the install package in visual studio to associate .txt with my app however when i double click on .txt files my app opens but blank. so i'm assuming i've gotta code something to get it to open the clicked on file but.... haven't got a clue where to look for inspiration or code i can "borrow" and chop to fit my needs. i assume it's got to be in the load section of the program.[code]

Jan 15, 2010I'm working on a project where I make a automatic messenger from VBnet. I want to program a simple one that responds to certain words or phrases. However, I only know the rough basics of If...Then commands. I have a lot of problems:
1. How do I make it so the messages typed in the box actually goes up into the script box when I press send?
2. How do I program a slight delay in the computer's answer?
3. How do I set a name to the computer and to me?
4. How do I make the script goes into scrolling when it runs out of space.
5. If possible, when I type an equation in the box, can I program the computer to solve it and display the answer? I'm a beginner so I don't really know the overall organization of this project. However, I would like it to remain as simple as possible.
