My program works fine for users with 2003 Office but has errors on users with 2000 Office. I was able to downgrade my pc to Office 2000 so my program would reference to MS office 9.0 (2000). This proved to be successful since both 2000 and 2003 users can now print properly. The problem now is my development pc cant create any word.application ...

I am looking for some (preferable vb.net) code to use in an asp.net application that will allow me/my users to setup calendars (that I store in SQL server db).
I am looking for something that will make it easy to schedule recurring appts (i.e. every monday, every other week on thursday at 9AM, every month,1st and 3rd tuesday, every year etc) with as many possible scenarios as possible.
I can automate most of the easy ones via a few screens, but inevitably my users come up with scenarios that require me to code and execute some custom scripts in SQL to make the entries, and I'd really like to offload this to the users.
I am trying to use Vb to call explorer to open some web pages that I already downloaded. I use this command.

it works fine for this file. However, I have tens of thousands files to open. So I need a variable to replace "G:BlogsBlog35242+0". Like, I write blogaddress="G:BlogsBlog35242+0" and Shell("C:Program FilesMozilla Firefoxfirefox.exe blogaddress")it doesn't work.I write, Shell("C:Program FilesMozilla Firefoxfirefox.exe" &blogaddress) it doesn't work either.
I'm writing something to download about 200 small (Around 200kb) files at a time. I pass the file urls off to a class which starts the downloads. The problem is that it'll start the download (Just creates a 0kb file) and then slowly downloads each file one by one, waiting for the next to complete despite this being a threaded class. This would be fine but after about a minute, windows removes all of the 0kb files and I'm stuck with only a few of the files being downloaded. How to get multiple files to be downloaded concurrently?

Any way to save all files that are being downloaded trough the WebBrowser I've made in my Visual Studio 2010 to a specific location, by letting user to chose option save file without knowing where it saves. Or maybe to don't show the "save file" thing at all.

I've tried to upgrade the application using VS2005, VS2008 and VS2010. With VS2005 when I attempt to upgrade the source, it says the system was developed in a newer version. This would be triggered by calling the exe with a numbner of parameters passed, like a pass phrase.I know how to pass the parameters and can call a proc based on what is passed, but I don't know if it's possible within that proc to dump the entire program's source code to notepad.

View 18 RepliesI have a process serves as an application updater.It checks it's local cache of files and compares this against list of files online.On it's first run there are no files in the local cache and it therefore downloads ~100 of these files.[code]This appears to work very well, since Explorer confirms that all files are extracted and available.However when I later run this process again, it cannot verify the existence of 6 of these files and therefore tries to download them despite the fact that they are clearly both present and up to date.The offending code is a simple File.Exists call which appears to deny the local existence of these files, and therefore tries to get them again.The system continues to work well, but over time the continual downloading of these 6 files is going to get kind of silly.

Ok first i want to say im sorry if i put this inthe wrong section i have no idea what the thing im doing is called "I call it a notepad" Ok i made a notepad saved it ect now i got the .exe file i tryed making that my default notepad but when i click on a .txt file i get an error massage

Here is the problem: I have written an application that opens an excel file, copys a chart to the clipboard, then closes the excel file. It works fine except under a very special condition. If the user has an excel file open and then runs my application, the open excel file closes. To make this more confusing, if the user then reopens an excel file and runs my application again, everything works fine. It will continue to work fine untill the user reboots his or her computer. Then it will occur again one time
