I have some source code for a project to look at. How can I tell whether the code has been written in VB or VB.Net?

Jul 16, 2009I know it sounds an odd request, but in order for others to gain access to an executable's VB.Net source code long after I have left the project I wanted to add something that could output the source code to notepad. This would be triggered by calling the exe with a numbner of parameters passed, like a pass phrase.I know how to pass the parameters and can call a proc based on what is passed, but I don't know if it's possible within that proc to dump the entire program's source code to notepad.

Jan 26, 2010I don't know what this is called so I've struggled to find an answer from google but I have a vague memory of it from t'old days.I've sub-classed (* see below) about 8 framework controls, overriden some properties and added some functionality into each one.The changes I have made are identical in every case. If I make a change, I have to go through each class and apply the same change there.I was hoping there may be a keyword such as <IncludeSourcefile "common.vb> that I can put into each class.
(* note) I use the term sub-classed but I don't know if that's the correct terminology. I've also seen it used for call-backs. Is sub-classed the correct term to use?

Code Written In C# - Conversion Of Csharp To VS2005
Jul 3, 2009I have some code that was written in C# and am attempting to convert it to VB.Net, for the most part things have gone well but I am running into an issue that I am not sure how to handle. The project has several classes and a few namespaces defined. The issue is [or seems to be] related to the namespace usage.
In the C# code of one class I have

When translated to VB I have in the first class above

and the following in the other class from above.

Imports GdiPlusLib
I get the following warning message on the imports line
Namespace or type specified in the Imports 'GdiPlusLib' doesn't contain any public member or cannot be found. Make sure the namespace or the type is defined and contains at least one public member. Make sure the imported element name doesn't use any aliases. There is another instance with a different namespace that gives the same warning and I get 11 errors all of which would seem to be related to the two warnings.
